What movie is this?

Years ago, I saw a 5-minute scene from a movie. It was some sort of mob movie. In the scene I saw, there was a woman who has a couple of thugs show up in her room. They eventually shoot her in the chest, and she sits down and pets her cat as she is dying. I ended up turning to something else, and never found out what movie it was. Can anyone help, from my pathetic scene description?

Erm. Not quite. But this is a good spot to point out that I hate David Lynch movies.

Kodos 03-30-2010 12:17 PM

I figured it would be a memorable scene. The girl takes her cans out in an effort to help persuade the guys not to kill her.

Why on earth would these?

Persuade Mafia thugs from shooting anyone? They that hungry?

chadritt 03-30-2010 12:30 PM

Munich? i cant remember if there was a cat or not.

Kodos 03-30-2010 12:33 PM

That doesn't sound right. It looked like more of a 70s type of movie, pretty sure it was a mafia movie of some sort. I think she was the wife of a mobster and go offed because of it.

flounder 03-30-2010 12:37 PM

Munich had a definite 70s vibe to it.

Kodos 03-30-2010 12:48 PM

I mean "made in the 70s".

JediKooter 03-30-2010 12:51 PM

Once Upon a Time in America?

Kodos 03-30-2010 01:25 PM

That seems closer, but I looked at the plot synopsis, and it doesn't describe the scene I remember. Also, that movie had DeNiro in it, who I would have recognized. I didn't see any name actors in the movie I'm thinking of (granted, I only saw one scene).

markprior22 03-30-2010 01:31 PM

Sure sounds like Munich

TroyF 03-30-2010 01:35 PM

Sounds exactly like Munich. The death of the honey pot.

Kodos 03-30-2010 01:57 PM

So she gets shot and then calmly sits down and pets her cat as she starts to bleed?

Honolulu_Blue 03-30-2010 02:01 PM

It's Munich:

Death in "Munich"

she realizes that it is the Israeli team here to kill her, she begins calmly bargaining for her life: You already know how good I am, you should hire me. She exposes her beautiful breasts and asks: Why waste all this talent? (We see her ineffectively groping for a gun in a drawer while she talks, but she never finds it.) The team shoot her twice in the chest, with strange one-shot guns they have assembled from bicycle pumps (Spielberg loves his gadgets). She walks calmly across the room, her nightgown still hanging open, pets her cat, sits down in a chair and starts to die. A third member of the team then uses his own bicycle-pump-gun to shoot her in the head. Avner tries to close her nightgown, and another member of the team angrily makes him leave it open.

I Googled "munich woman killed pets cat"

Death in "Munich"

Quote:

There is one killing in the movie which appears to have invaded from a completely different and much sicker movie. A beautiful female operative sets a "honey trap" for Avner, which he evades, but she nets an older member of the team, who is murdered in her hotel room. (We are not informed whether she killed the man herself or simply lured him to his death.) The team tracks her down to a houseboat in Holland, where they find her reading a book in her nightgown. Her first reaction when a stranger appears on her boat is not fear or anger, but a look of pure sexual hunger. A moment later, when she realizes that it is the Israeli team here to kill her, she begins calmly bargaining for her life: You already know how good I am, you should hire me. I didn't write that. It's from the link I found. I did watch the You Tube clip, however, and, uh, yeah they are actually quite nice.

Dodgerchick 03-30-2010 05:11 PM

Usually when I can't remember the name of a movie, I try and remember one of the actor/actresses and look them up on imdb and go through the list of movies/shows they were on.

k0ruptr 03-30-2010 05:54 PM

decent flick too.

Yep. In this case, I didn't know any actors, and had only seen the one scene. So I didn't have much to work with. :)

You didn't know Eric Bana or Daniel Craig? Mildly surprised...

stevew 03-30-2010 10:11 PM

I think it was before Craig's first 007 movie, so yeah, I was unfamiliar with him. I'm pretty sure I saw the one scene while staying at a hotel that didn't have a guide on the TV that told you what you were watching. One of those situations where you're just flipping through channels, hit an interesting scene, watch it for a few minutes, then move on to something else.

Eric Bana is still not a person on my radar.
