I have mixed feelings about that. I would absolutely love to have a game that combines the best features of Madden and FOF. So in that way I wish the game success. But the way Daivd shat on the text-sim community and the poor way the release was handled by Matrix tempers those feelings to say the least.

I honestly don't think it's possible to mix Madden with FOF and keep the realism of FOF.

I do think it's possible to make the realism worse than Madden and Maximum Football proved that much.

Is this game out yet?

It should be possible to have something close to what MF (minus the CFL and customizability) pretended to offer. Single season, realistic coaching/playbook etc.

Maybe if someone had a plan, and didn't try and make an ass-backwards frame-rate driven cut rate physics engine, but created the display from the engine (sort of like FM and EHM) then it shouldn't be impossible.

I doubt anyone may try it for years, because as we all know, this thread destroyed any chance MF had of being good, and thus would instantly prevent other developers from even attempting as gargantuan a task as recreating something along the lines of the FBPro series from a decade ago.

thx for the reply. i only noticed the duplicate numbers before training game; i haven't looked beyond that.
i'm not deleting any players, all i did was add players, for example, i added players 21-40 (with a 20 pre-training camp roster); after i added those to the database i changed say, a wr to a db; ... didn't delete just added and changed.
i'm not one to delete anything without knowing exactly what it impacts anyway; i've programmed enough other stuff to be cautious.

Imagine another thread on Maximum Basketball. It would most likely be geared towards the CBA without any consideration to the NBA. You would be able to customize it from Boy's Club to the pros while the 3D models remain the same height for all leagues.

Maximum Basketball wouldn't interest me, but Maximum Baseketball might.

Could Flere use Maximum Football to re-enact events or stories? Perhaps some sort of importation from Maximum Football into Microsoft Paintshop, then animatrize the results, reimport back into Maximum Football, customize the surroundings:

Sure it keeps their career stats, but they get drafted all over again each year. Makes it pretty hard to develop a player, I would think. It's funny how when FOFC argued over career mode that it wasn't really a big deal. Wow! :eek:
