A for effort, but all on one page was unbearable.

post has been repeated elsewhere...original restored here to preserve pagination (for now)

Ksyrup 08-04-2010 08:14 AM

That's more like it.

I've never been inclined to use my mod powers here before, but the rest of this page is seriously making me reconsider. I've been on this page for 5 minutes and not all of those things have loaded yet. And worse yet, the damn page keeps shifting as it eventually shows each one of those posts. So I can't see what I'm typing, or what people have posted below it (or it keeps shifting, making it impossible to view without annoying the fuck out of me).

Okay, if you really want to invest the time to go back and look at seven kajillion weighty and slow-loading animated GIFs, have at it, go to page 155. Thanks for the contributions, pinhead.

If you just want to see cool images, and do so by going to the last page, here you are.

The act is trolling (Bako admitted as much) but the pic is pretty consistent with the theme of the thread.

jeff061 08-04-2010 02:00 PM

The question is, can mods remove the ability to post anything not in an image tag for a few days.

Seriously, STFU, all of you. My fucking god. Yes I know I am adding to it, I've clicked away without saying anything many times for that reason. But man...really? Still?

I meant the douchebag move which posted 20 consecutive animated gifs.

spleen1015 08-04-2010 02:14 PM

I didn't think Blade was that juvenile.

I still want to know which mod played that trick on me (making me quote the cat pic), because it was really clever. :D

That pic is from the top of the Aiguille du Midi. You take a cable car from Chamonix to that platform, then there is an elevator that takes you to the top, and that is where I snapped this pic.

johnnyshaka 08-04-2010 04:28 PM

Yeah, that is about 9,000 vertical feet above the start of the cable car run from the town of Chamonix at the bottom :)

SackAttack 08-04-2010 04:31 PM

What's funny to me is how many people are lying down.

You can't tell from the pic, but there were girls sunbathing on the platform. Even though it was about 40 degrees and windy up there.

Yes I can.

There are far too many fully clothed individuals sprawled out to lessen the funny, however.

I was just in Banff a few weeks ago and they have something similar except nowhere near as high up...only 2400 feet above the town. The day we went up there were low lying clouds so when we climbed above them it felt much higher than previous trips as I had only been up there on clear days.

There certainly is "something" about the mountains, any mountains, that just leaves me in a state of euphoria every time I'm there...very cool.

cartman 08-04-2010 04:46 PM

Here's another pic I took in northern New Mexico that the Forest Service used on their website. I still laugh when I see thegreatcornholio.com attributed on a government website! :D

What's even cooler, that's me in the front left, with the paddle in the water. :) Found out that an Italian magazine used the pic a few years later:

Is this like a f'ed up version of where's Waldo, where instead of having to find Waldo you find a dead cat? That's really sick Tucker...sick.

Some of the 1,000 or so pics taken during the 5 week "around the USA" driving trip my wife and I took last year.

After looking through these, I realized that both of my wife and I are in most of the pics. Oh well.

I had a blog that I updated almost daily if you anyone wants to read it. You'll have to go into the archives, but it was moderately popular for a while.

Yeah please feel free to look the blog over. There are about 35-40 entries covering the whole trip from October to December.
