And it worked!

whomario 04-30-2009 09:14 PM

argh ... sorry to be such a bummer, but this is killing me ... Iīd propably enjoy it any other time, but not delaying the Houston game ...

And i really donīt understand why teams donīt run an actual play in those situations. Seriously, why go to some isolation when it works liuke 30% of the time if at all ? Why not let Allen come arround a screen ? Or at least make a couple passes before getting Pierce the ball ? Or let Pierce move a bit at least before ? As a coach this makes me sick ..

Welcome to Holywood.

Groundhog 04-30-2009 09:20 PM

At this point in time, John Salmons is the best player on that Bulls roster.

Groundhog 04-30-2009 09:22 PM

Scalabrine is in the game. The Celtics are all but in the 2nd round now.

whomario 04-30-2009 09:24 PM

Houston by 8 btw ... Yao again just 2 shots (1 shotclock bailout) and 2 FTs ... Artest chucking. Still hitting them, so itīs all good...

Groundhog 04-30-2009 09:30 PM

Seriously, fuck these timeouts. How are we ever going to have a classic game again in the NBA when there's a 2 minute stoppage after every possession.

whomario 04-30-2009 09:32 PM

this could be a drinking game. Take a shot for every TO in the last 2 minutes and 2 for every OT and you end the night veeeery drunk ... And now a review ...

Whatīs the line for this game going longer than the Houston-Portland game ?

whomario 04-30-2009 09:37 PM

Miller got cojones. Wow.

Why wouldnīt you pressure a PG inbounding with a bigger defender ?

Ray Allen for another OT, wanna bet ?

Maybe they are done when the 2nd half starts in Houston ?

Wait, no Timeouts left ? Wooot :)

Jas_lov 04-30-2009 09:38 PM

Right between the eyes! Allen is sick tonight.

Arles 04-30-2009 09:39 PM

Man, this series has been incredible. Just a joy to watch as a hoops fan.

Big Fo 04-30-2009 09:39 PM

Gordon is out, maybe the Bulls will run an actual play and create a decent look.

whomario 04-30-2009 09:39 PM

OK, now i have accepted that i wonīt see anything from that other thing and want it to go to at least 8 OTs.

Got any thoughts about possible lottery numbers for the weekend?

Damn I didn't know it was practically halftime.

DaddyTorgo 04-30-2009 09:41 PM

triple OT...holy shit

whomario 04-30-2009 09:42 PM

sboxscore update from Houston : Rockets up 12. Artest with 16 rather efficient points, Portland players outside Roy/Aldridge are 3-18 from the field.

Exactly. I really want to watch the Rockets but I also really want to watch the end of this game.

MikeVic 04-30-2009 09:42 PM

Watching this game since end of regulation. Great.

Mr. Sparkle 04-30-2009 09:42 PM

I will never understand why teams don't foul when they're up by 3. What is that, the third time in this series alone where the team up hasn't fouled and then had a 3 buried in their stupid no fouling face to tie it?

That was quite poor. You could see Doc Rivers walking away smirking, not because of yet another OT in this series, but because that play was so bad.

but they did foul. Then they tried again. Salmons had Allen in a bear hug, but the refs didn't call it.

I am happy they failed to do this to Mario Chalmers last year in the finals :D

SI

hoopsguy 04-30-2009 09:49 PM

This one is starting to feel like UConn/Syracuse.

whomario 04-30-2009 09:49 PM

Allen made some ridiculous shots tonight with guys all over him, nasty stuff .

I want him to hit the game winner that also sets a new playoff record for 3s made.

Easy Mac 04-30-2009 09:49 PM

First, Allen is insane tonight. Second, does Chciago know how to take a good shot?

DaddyTorgo 04-30-2009 09:51 PM

51 for ray allen!!

I keep hearing about how great this series has been, so I decided to check in. 3 OTs. It's certainly living up to the billing, but the constant timeouts and stoppages and commercial breaks makes what should be a thrilling game completely stilted and boring.

hoopsguy 04-30-2009 09:52 PM

Noah with "and 1"???? With Pierce foul out? WOW!

DaddyTorgo 04-30-2009 09:53 PM

*sigh* Pierce - why are you fouling out on that...just give him the layup

Gotta third this one. Heck, I think I said as much a page or two back

SI

Easy Mac 04-30-2009 09:53 PM

I think you get an extra To for each OT or something.

Arles 04-30-2009 09:53 PM

dayum! nothing buy hair was streaking past the TV

sterlingice 04-30-2009 09:54 PM

If they don't have 3 guys on Ray Allen this time down, there's something wrong

SI

Groundhog 04-30-2009 09:54 PM

Can Ray Ray do it again?

whomario 04-30-2009 09:54 PM

Wow @ Noah.

Propably another OT on an Allen 3 here. Or Scalabrine hits one, thatīd be a nice touch as well ... Iīm prepared for anything now. Maybe Marbury banking a runner from 35 foot with 1 on the clock, thatīd be nice ...
side story : As bad as rondo has been finishing this game, heīs got 19 assists and 0 Turnovers...

sterlingice 04-30-2009 09:56 PM

Ok, I've counted to 20. Shouldn't the timeout be over?

SI

Arles 04-30-2009 09:57 PM

it's the no holds barred third OT. Holy elbow on that Big Baby screen

Easy Mac 04-30-2009 09:57 PM

It should be a graduated TO schedule in the NBA.
1st Q = 1 TO
2nd = 2
3rd = 3
4th = 4

Then it starts over in OT.

And get rid of the stupid TO gets you the ball 2/3rds of the way down the court. With the size and speed of the modern player, the court should be lengthened, not artificially shortened.

sterlingice 04-30-2009 09:58 PM

What's he whining about? That was pretty blatant

SI

Jas_lov 04-30-2009 09:58 PM

LOL! Baby Davis fouled out and they're running out of big bodies. But they still have Scalabrini to shoot the 3 here.

hoopsguy 04-30-2009 09:59 PM

All of these timeouts are a huge disadvantage for Del Negro, who makes Mike Dunleavy look like Hubie Brown when it comes to running an out-of-bounds play.

On another note, Brad Miller is on a mission tonight from the foul line.

4 TOs in the 4th quarter would be a nightmare. I think they only have 3 so 6 get taken in the last 2 minutes. I don't need 8 of them. I need them to get 2 max- 1 20s and 1 full. And then maybe a pair of 20s in the OT.

SI

DaddyTorgo 04-30-2009 10:00 PM

another timeout? jeezus!!!! *dies*

sterlingice 04-30-2009 10:00 PM

For the love of--!

SI

sterlingice 04-30-2009 10:01 PM

And they had another one?!?

SI

DaddyTorgo 04-30-2009 10:02 PM

LOL

heinrich MISSED A LAYUP ALL ALONE UNDER THE BASKET!!!!!

celtics down by 1 with 16.7 left and the ball

sabotai 04-30-2009 10:02 PM

So I'm flipping through the channels and find this basketball on TNT, Celtics-Bulls Game 6, 3rd OT with about 1 minute left. I think "Cool, I'll get to see how the game turns out."

15 minutes later....

hoopsguy 04-30-2009 10:03 PM

Vinny says "FU, hoopsguy and you too, Heinrich". Probably should use the left hand for that layup.
