I'm not sure about this, but I thought I remembered the creators denying an identity type ending.
|

I figured that as the way they got the coffin, and "his body" on the plane - Jack threw a fit about needing to bury his father, and they (with or without his permission) took the body out and just shipped the coffin. |

Yeah they said it wasn't a dream... and an Identity type ending would, IMO, fall under that category. I was just stating that what was being talked about in the thread sounded like Identity. |
My theory on Jin - I think the other group kills him with the gun they took from Sawyer. Then what we saw is a dream sequence of a sort, him talking to his wife about everything changing. Because at that point, it would; esp. if Sawyer + Michael escape.

I bought season 1 yesterday, since I didn't watch the show at all last season. It's fascinating to watch, since all I had to go on before was the season recap ABC showed to kickoff this season. I'm definitely hooked.
I've been watching all morning, I'm on the 3rd episode now. Just passing time till the UGA-UT game. :) |

I wonder how all of this ties into the oceanic-air.com site. Remember there were hidden messages on that site saying things like "If anyone should find this message, please get word I'm alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they're getting worse..." and "I survived a horrific plane crash and am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents." and for fun... Load up http://bigspaceship1.com and there is morse code along the top, which translates to "Father Hanso" or something close to that. The picture on the site seems to remain the same however the sounds and music playing change every 108 minutes. ;) Edit: Scrap that, the picture changed. |

working on it right now... |
Has anyone compiled a list of Lost related websites that aren't fan-based? Off the top of my head...
http://www.thehansofoundation.org/ http://www.dharmaindustries.com/ http://www.oceanic-air.com/ http://www.thefrenchlady.com/ http://www.driveshaftband.com/ http://thefuselage.com (the writers set this up) And where did whomever find that bigspaceship thing and is it known if it's Lost related or not? |
There's just too much intentional distortion in that sound file. There is defeintely some repeating messege in there that says what sounds like "Attention All Levels, Attention All Levels" and then goes into something much, much, much harder to try to hear. It sounds like some sort of announcement basically.
edit: and this was after removing noise, slowing down, changing the pitch of the voices, etc... there's just too much noise (for me) to be able to overcome. |
Not sure if oceanicflight815.com is official. Ownership is listed as The Reyes Group which is the name of Hurleys company.
|
cthomer,
FYI, bigspaceship1.com now forwards to something named redpolarbear.com. |
Here is something uncovered recently that will get you thinking....
Apparently someone has posted a picture from the first season, the pilot maybe, of the crash which shows walt wandering around the plane wreckage. On a piece of the plane, the dharma symbol is on the plane. Some skeptics are saying it is a altered picture that someone has posted, but who knows. I can post the picture if anyone would like to see. It looks a little altered to me. |
Please post it.
|
|
Interesting
|
Looks altered to me. But what the hell do I know?
|

well, anyone with a DVD can verify. I'll check when i get home if no one can confirm or deny before then. |
I'm home with the kids today and I just did a search. It was from end of the third episode and the images don't look to be altered except for the black box. I can post a screenshot here in a few minutes if anyone wants.
|
Really? You see the logo on the plane??? Wow! Now that would completely change my current theories.
|
|
|
Yeah, that really changes things in my mind. Thanks for posting.
|
The question is, is why would a commercial flight be labeled with a private corporation or gov't corp logo?
|
Are we sure that's the dharma symbol?
|

Looks pretty clear to me. |
Awesome find!
So I was thinking... One big social experiment? The original episode starts with people wandering around on the beach in a wreckage, but I don't recall them showing the plane going down. I'm curious to know if they will ever show the boat that Desmond was on, and if it also has the logo. Might be worth it to go back and look at the other objects on the island (the Black Rock, the drug plane, etc.) to see if they have the logo as well. |
Quote:
Yes, they do show the plane crashing in numerous episodes in flashbacks. |
The cool thing about this is that it shows me the writers didn't just make it up as they went along, which is nice.
|

Just what I was thinking. Have to give these writers (and Abrams I suppose) quite a bit of credit. Not only have they put together a nice little puzzle here, but for the most part they've done it very skillfully without taking any cheap roads. |
I wonder if any of the survivors will recognize the symbol from the plane?
|
They'd better. If I flew Delta and I didn't recognize the symbol somewhere else that would be pretty unlikely...especially a distinct symbol like that.
|
any theories on how Locke is not paralized from the waist down anymore and doesnt need a wheelchair anymore.
|
It would be easy for that to happen. On an island where they're working parapsychology experiments anything can happen.
Besides, (from what I remember) we still don't know how he was paralyzed. It might have all been in his head. Then again, I've seen each show once and only once. |
Wow. That has got my head spinning now. Is it Wednesday yet?!

Am I the only one who gets frustrated with the show's slow pace? Don't get me wrong, season 1 on DVD was addictive as hell, but I dunno if I wanna spend a bunch of time on Season 2 where very little happens each episode. Eps. 1&2 of this season were like, "and now, here's the scene in the bunker from the computer's point of view!"
|
Not me. I love the slow pace. That's what makes it unique. It's an evolving storyline - not like most hour-long dramas that just rehash the same basic plot week after week. I like the fact that there is a mystery that is spanning 20+ episodes and we get a chance to decipher the smallest of clues and try to find the connections. If too much is revealed, you lose that sense of mystery.

I think the criticism of episode 2 is fair. It was a pretty weak episode in my opinion, and clearly should have been part of a 2-hour premiere. But overall the pace of the show is precisely why i like it. The show raises as many questions as it answers week after week, but without feeling contrived. It's an intelligent show, and easily the best drama I've ever seen on network TV. |
I liken the pace of this show to Carnivale on HBO. Each show has it's own story and near the end we get to see how that story connects to the overall story of the seriee. I like the slow pace as well. We can a new piece of info or another question to answer with each episode. This is a damn good show.

Quote:
I wasn't a fan of the re-hash in episode two, but I think that has more to do with ABC not allowing them a two-hour premiere then it has to do with pour writing. IN regards to the pace, I like it... and I actually got annoyed that episode one revealed so much information in an hour. The slow pace of the show is what makes it so addictive, and intriguing. |
Quote:
And I like the fact that they don't try to throw in too much extraneous action (like in 24, for example) that isn't related to the plot. |
Quote:
Yeah that bummed me out. I like the slow pace in general, but I didn't like how 1 and 2 was simply editing tricks. The episodes ended at the same point in time. Episode 3 was really good, though. |
Great, I just found out about another crazy-ass backstory element to the show (as if i didn't have enough to deal with already!)
The same car (Gold Pontiac Bonneville): hits Locke in the parking lot hits Michael when he gets severely injured is the car Kate t-bones when fleeing the hospital |
Do we see who was driving the car in any of those cases?
|
Quote:
Someone noted on another forum as well, that in the first Kate Flashback, when she is at the motel, that a car or another "Same car seen in two flashbacks" was there as well. |
The first Kate flashback wasn't the farm?
|

Zut! I haven't got to that point yet. I've been watching season 1 on DVD, since I missed out on the original airings. I'll keep an eye out for that.
