So was the rest of the NFC East.

MrBug708 04-23-2010 05:35 PM

Did you need a linebacker EF27?

JonInMiddleGA 04-23-2010 05:36 PM

No RB in the draft I'd rather have than McCluster, was hoping he'd stay under the radar & could slip to the Falcons in the 3rd frankly.

Senator 04-23-2010 05:36 PM

A stronger QB class next season spells DOOM for Clausen.

Watching Boomer, Young, Gruden, Kiper, and Jackson is brutal. They have ZERO cohesion and chemistry.
I am only hanging on because I like Gruden's comments but he just has to fight hair-do over talking him.

The Football Outsiders guys have been saying for a few years that college starts and completion percentage are the two big indicators for success at the pro level. See for example College stats don't lie - NFL - ESPN.

larrymcg421 04-23-2010 05:37 PM

Wow, how far is Clausen gonna fall?

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 05:37 PM

Chiefs probably decided they want their own Sproles.

cartman 04-23-2010 05:40 PM

Wow, the Browns didn't take a QB there

gstelmack 04-23-2010 05:40 PM

Bucs trade up to 2.7...

Yes, actually. I think they could have used him in some creative blitz packages with his speed. Oh well, more I read of Nate, he seems like a solid pick. Meanwhile, Clausen continues to fall.

Eisen, Mayock, Corey Chavous, Brian Billick, Charles Davis for NFLN. Pretty strong (dunno about Chavous though).

cartman 04-23-2010 05:43 PM

I've always wondered what Gruden would be doing if he didn't have a career in football. Even when he is happy he looks supremely pissed off.

Trying to think of who comes out next year. Locker and Mallett (probably on Mallett, since he could come back).

Maybe Luck from Stanford. That atheltic kid from Miami? Pryor from OSU? Who am I missing?

The SEC seems like it was cleared out this year, Tebow, Snead, Crompton, LSU's QB wasn't good I don't think, can't remember who Stafford's replacement at Georgia was, wasn't McElroy a senior, too? Shows how much I pay attention there. ;)

I liked watching the NFLN draft last night. Wasn't a bunch of people trying to talk over each other. Although, it could have been 6 monkeys flinging feces at each other and as long as Berman wasn't in the group it would be better.

gstelmack 04-23-2010 05:46 PM

They moved up for Aurelios Benn. Wonder who they thought was going to snatch him...

Galaxy 04-23-2010 05:46 PM

Could the Bills take Jimmy?

cartman 04-23-2010 05:47 PM

I wonder if a team is going to be able to pickup both McCoy and Shipley?

Galaxy 04-23-2010 05:47 PM

Danny boy looks like he's been baking in the sun a little too much.

stevew 04-23-2010 05:49 PM

rams had to take Bradford or trade out If they take Suh, the lions get a Godfather offer and the Rams look dumber.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 05:50 PM

these qbs are dropping like flies. and a tackle or two im surprised isnt gone yet.

some very very decent prospects still out there.

Galaxy 04-23-2010 05:51 PM

Come on...The pick has been in for a while.

cartman 04-23-2010 05:51 PM

Clausen to the Raiders. Book it. Done.

Mustang 04-23-2010 05:52 PM

Wonder who will take Claussen...

Jimmy's down! Jiimmy's going into shock.

DeToxRox 04-23-2010 05:52 PM

Bruce Campbell will go to Oakland here.

path12 04-23-2010 05:53 PM

I think it's fair to say Mays was overrated.

Izulde 04-23-2010 05:53 PM

This Utah OLB is interesting, though hearing the word undersized always makes me cringe.

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 05:54 PM

Did the Bills to just select the Trout option?

I seriously wonder if Ralph Wilson is Al Davis' twin brother.

I'm willing to bet he would have gone in the top 20 of the 1st round if he had come out last year. Coming back for his senior year was a bad mistake for him.

Greyroofoo 04-23-2010 05:56 PM

Looks like Al Davis fell asleep.

Solecismic 04-23-2010 05:57 PM

Poor Raiders. They're the anti-Pats. Any selection they make is instantly ridiculed.

So they traded with each other, because the Pats must want a WR and the Ravens definitely want one.

I still think he will be a pretty solid Safety in the NFL, starter material after a couple years imo.

There are people right now on the local newspaper blog saying that the Hawks should jump up to grab him. Because two safeties in the first two rounds is what we really need.

Agreed. I remember thinking last year that he really should have gone. The season he had more or less confimed that. He had nowhere to go but down at that point. He got bad advice from somewhere.

path12 04-23-2010 05:58 PM

Man, Buffalo must really not like Clausen.

Yeah, I agree with this, he'll be okay.

cartman 04-23-2010 05:59 PM

The Raiders select:

Jimmy McCoy

Solecismic 04-23-2010 06:00 PM

It's Gronkowski, according to SoSH.

Carroll wasnt giving out very good NFL draft advice last year, suffice to say.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:01 PM

good pick by the pats. needed TE

I agree. His physical skills are superior and with good coaching he should become a very good player in my opinion.

As much as it pains me to say this, seeing the new coaching staff in action (well vicariously from good friends who are still in the area), the level of hands on coaching in practice is night and day between this year and last in favor of this year.

Galaxy 04-23-2010 06:02 PM

Wow...He made the trip to NY?

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 06:02 PM

lol... I swear Belichek must prematurely ejaculate when he sees a solid tight end available in the draft.

Read into that anyway you want.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:04 PM

Kindle . if his knee heals fine or isnt a problem thats excellent value at 43.

cartman 04-23-2010 06:04 PM

Ray Lewis has another protege.

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 06:05 PM

My guess is Tate here to Baltimore. He'll beat out his QB. And for the first time in many years, a UCLA AND a Notre Dame player will be picked ahead of a USC player. ;)

Izulde 04-23-2010 06:05 PM

Nice gamble by the Ravens.

DeToxRox 04-23-2010 06:06 PM

Oakland is having a damn good draft.

Did I say that?

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:06 PM

back to back Longhorns. lol

take it back, quick!

Solecismic 04-23-2010 06:07 PM

Houston's a guy I would have enjoyed seeing go to the Pats.

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 06:07 PM

Or maybe they'll pick someone else while I am typing.

cartman 04-23-2010 06:07 PM

Houston is a stud. Someone must have told Al Davis the draft didn't start until Saturday.

Solecismic 04-23-2010 06:07 PM

Denver now has the Raider draft mantle. Maybe they'll grab Clausen here, for the competition in camp.

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 06:08 PM

Does Kindle project as a 3-4 OLB?

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:08 PM

im starting to sweat Carolinas pick, I dont want them to, but I already know if Clausen is there, hes going to Carolina. boooooooo (ill take the boo back if he performs well. lol)

Yep. He is very quick off the edge.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:11 PM

damn, WTF happened with Bruce Cambell?

everyone hates him, lol.

Solecismic 04-23-2010 06:11 PM

Ringo, John, George and Paul are apparently going to be on the offensive line here. This guy has a fifth-round grade. First player picked that I didn't have in the 148 from the draft contest.

cartman 04-23-2010 06:12 PM

We've secretly swapped the front offices of Denver and Oakland. Let's see if anyone notices.

Good fit for the Ravens then. They did the same thing with Suggs when they get him as a college DE out of ASU.

DeToxRox 04-23-2010 06:14 PM

Linval Joseph will be a stud for the Gmen in that system.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:14 PM

Demaryius Thomas, Tim Tebow, Zane Beadles

Draft picks of the Broncos.

someone is trying to drive that team into the ground.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:16 PM

Joseph and Washington are also great Value here IMO.

Please Carolina dont do it, please dont take Clausen.

Thomkal 04-23-2010 06:16 PM

wow my Cards traded up, they rarely do that. Needed that LB though, so a good pick. They really really need corner/safety help still.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:17 PM

Dola, I'd rather have Charles Brown, Bruce Campbell or Taylor Mays in Carolina at this spot.

Izulde 04-23-2010 06:17 PM

And the Cardinals snipe Washington from the Panthers.

Thomkal 04-23-2010 06:18 PM

Think it would be a mistake if the Panthers take a QB here. This is their first pick in this draft, and you don't want to pick a player who's going to sit behind a starter-Matt Moore.

In FOF, that would be a good move.

Eaglesfan27 04-23-2010 06:19 PM

I think the Panthers are going to take Colt.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:20 PM

ok. I really hope he shows us something, but I don't like him at all. and I think we screwed up.

Eaglesfan27 04-23-2010 06:20 PM

Or not.

cartman 04-23-2010 06:20 PM

I would of preferred Tenant from BC but would this guy Beaddle was rated the 2nd best guard in the draft. If they could somehow get Gerhardt and Tennant with the two 3s they got I would be happy but doubt either will be there. This pick fills one of our two vacant o-line spots the other being center.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:20 PM

damnit I'm pissed.

Fuck

NOOOO

Why Clausen, I'd rather have McCoy.

Solecismic 04-23-2010 06:21 PM

Gotta like the pick. It's value at this point. Clausen is a hell of a thrower, for a guy who looks like a complete jerk.

I guess... Im gonna start drinking now.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:22 PM

does San Fran take McCoy here?

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:23 PM

nope, Taylor Mays, thats a good pick for the Niners too.

Eaglesfan27 04-23-2010 06:24 PM

Finally. SF just got some good value.

bhlloy 04-23-2010 06:26 PM

Nice fit for Mays. And Mayock just talked through three highlights of a different player critiquing Mays game... nice job NFL network. Good thing a giant turd would be better than listening to Berman.

cartman 04-23-2010 06:27 PM

Mount Cody to the Chiefs?

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:29 PM

FWIW this is how I rated out the QBs

1. McCoy
2. Bradford
3. Clausen
4. Pike
5. Tebow
6. LeFevour
7. Jarrett Brown
8. Skelton / Snead / Crompton (not really) the rest of the rest.

I think Kafka , Lefevour and Tebow are the most interesting prospects. Maybe Jarrett Brown is also pretty interesting.

cartman 04-23-2010 06:30 PM

I had the right team, just the wrong player. Arenas to the Chiefs

Thomkal 04-23-2010 06:31 PM

Too bad Clausen will have no one to throw to outside of an aging Steve Smith who will be double-covered.

Thomkal 04-23-2010 06:32 PM

Any one have the details on the Cards trade please?

So far Raiders having their best draft in years.

You are probably right, Al will wake up tomorrow and wonder why we are in round 4.

Thomkal 04-23-2010 06:35 PM

Thanks Jim that's what I figured-they had an extra third from the Boldin trade.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:37 PM

they lost Chester Taylor, so it makes sense to me, seems like a great fit to spell AD at times.

Toby Gerhardt that is

Solecismic 04-23-2010 06:40 PM

Pats back to their Florida connection, taking DE Cunningham.

As long has they have a credible passing attack. I wonder what that might hinge on... :)

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:45 PM

is anyone watching Chris Berman, god he is such a fuckin asshole. lol

cartman 04-23-2010 06:51 PM

Nice pickup by the Cowboys. Lee always seemed to be around the ball when I watched Penn State.

Eaglesfan27 04-23-2010 06:57 PM

Mount Cody makes a lot of sense for Baltimore.
