Damn, this election is nuts.

I thought the tape was going to do Donald in, but I'm now re-thinking that now if this debate continues this way.

mckerney 10-09-2016 09:59 PM

Has anyone in his campaign told Donald what a Senator does?

LOL....exactly what I was thinking. These references that a single senator can just change all sorts of laws by themselves is hilarious.

tarcone 10-09-2016 10:02 PM

Trump is making Clinton look terrible.

I know all you head in the sand followers believe Clinton is winning. But Trump is taking it to her.

I love how she says "Go to my site and check the facts." LOL. Yeah, Im going to a liars site to find truth? That is so funny.

Eh, that was probably a fairly effective answer. ("Yeah, she hasn't done anything about it!")

But are the masses smart enough to even know any better?

King of New York 10-09-2016 10:04 PM

Trump rattled HRC on the emails, but she handled the "what have you been doing for 30 years" attack pretty well.

Bingo. No they aren't. It doesn't matter what she says as long as he speaks last and hits his points no matter if they are based in fact or not, as long as they sound good.

Well, she wrote the whole tax code so he can not pay income tax. She's pretty powerful.

I'm not a Trump supporter or a Clinton supporter, but yeah, Trump has her flustered and has provided a lot of good line. He's neutralized her by using her own leaks, decisions, and even Bill's stuff.

Remember, this isn't about keeping the Trump supporters or the liberals, but winning the independent and moderate voters that will swing this election. I think this race closes right back up. But don't argue with liberals--they have their heads in the sand (except Michael Moore).

Also, people are going to see the media questions as well, which works into Trump's favor.

yeah, try downloading reality. Trump is incoherent and yelling random things at random times "ISIS! SENATOR! MUST REPORT! I WILL JAIL MY OPPONENT"

edit: when he's not sniveling that the moderators are actually calling him on his bullshit.

tarcone 10-09-2016 10:06 PM

So its ok if she lies but not him? You guys are awesome.

They are both liars, I think that is pretty obvious to most people with a brain.

tarcone 10-09-2016 10:08 PM

Wait the Iran deal was awesome. Right? Right? Oh wait, HRC had nothing to do with that. Trump is just yelling "IRAN, IRAN" I get it.

Yes, yes they are. But to the masses here, HRCs lies are ok. Trumps, not so much.

BishopMVP 10-09-2016 10:10 PM

"I haven't talked to my running mate and I disagree with what he said."

Trump won't be (can't be) off the ticket, but is there a legitimate chance Pence drops off and is replaced? Maybe by Rudy since he's the only one left in his corner?

heybrad 10-09-2016 10:11 PM

Is the moderator debating Trump at this point?

mckerney 10-09-2016 10:11 PM

"What do you think will happen if Aleppo falls."
"I don't know anything about Aleppo."

Also, is Trump saying the US can take over a city from ISIS just by saying we're going in and that's a bad thing?

Or, or, it could just be that my automechanic is as qualified to solve international crises as Trump.

tarcone 10-09-2016 10:13 PM

I wonder if Pence drops.
He is in a tough spot.

jeff061 10-09-2016 10:14 PM

I just don't know how anyone can watch this, even Trumps ardent supporters and come to any conclusion other than Trump is a pumpkin with a marshmallow brain. Thus guy couldn't lead my dog around the block.

He is a smaller brained President Camacho.

Because HRCs track record is so awesome.

How is this a point for Trump? How will this get him the undecideds and moderate voters, particularly the educated suburban women he needs, to vote for him?

Bill Walsh is a horrible coach because he lost 63 games.

PilotMan 10-09-2016 10:15 PM

The fact that he keeps recycling the same lines from the first debate and frankly he keeps recycling the same lines from earlier in the debate. He's having his own Rubio moment.

He deserves most of it, and the whining is annoying, but the 3v1 look isn't good. Who decided after other debates the answer was adding a 2nd moderator?

EDIT - I think part of the difference is style between Cooper & Martha Raddatz. He is used to this cross-talk and interrupts without appearing to badger, while she comes off like she's trying to talk over them, which was noticeably bad on those two questions.

She was trying to get him to say something that related to the question that was asked.

RedKingGold 10-09-2016 10:16 PM

Fuck. John Wooden lost 162 games in his career. How did he keep a job for so long?

RainMaker 10-09-2016 10:17 PM

So either Trump defended Assad and Putin or he just doesn't know what the fuck is going on in Syria.

She at least knows the basics of how our government works and what is happening around the world.

Like I'm not a fan of hers. She's a career politician. But she can tell me what is happening in Syria and how health care systems function. Some fairly basic requirements for the leader of the free world to understand.

This is an interesting demographic. How offended were they really by Trumps lockerroom comments?

I remember when Iowa Football coach called the women his "Little dumplins" Oh boy, all the liberals were up in arms. While all the women outside of the 10 square miles of fantasy that is Iowa City were proud to be his little dumplin.

Not equating What he said to calling women little dumplins. But are these women really going to be that offended by this talk? Sure they may not like to hear ir. But wont they realize it is lockerroom talk and realize it isnt something he has done in reality?

You're not a woman, so you have no fucking idea how they feel about it or how it offends them.

Ryche 10-09-2016 10:22 PM

Trump is winning the primary debate tonight.

I think Trump has an idea how the economy works. More so than a career politician.

And I believe Trump will surround himself with some qualified people. More so than HRC.

And I like the idea of privatizing health care. If it aint free, make it affordable.

Not at all. I just like to see HRC squirm. And chuckle at the dounle standard in this thread.

Am I being paranoid, or is Trump dropping Sidney Blumenthal's name a lot as an anti-semitic dogwhistle?

Well, it's actually polling data. But, you know, your anecdotal thoughts matter!

I haven't taken it that way, I just don't think he can remember that many names or talking points. I'm sure there are much more Jewish sounding backers of HRC coming out of the NYC money circles they both ran in.

Ben E Lou 10-09-2016 10:27 PM

HRC's Supreme Court answer is helping Donald with the nose-holders. We'll see if Trump drops the ball in his response.

He is the one proposing a 45% tariff on Chinese imports. He has no clue how the economy works. Being a pretend successful businessman on TV does not make you one in real life.

You can't privatize the health care industry. Even Reagan understood that.
