I've realised that in this game there's really no such thing as a throwaway vote so I can merrily vote for whoever I want this evening without having to worry about everyone else moving on about 4 steps before deadline leaving my vote single and huddled in a corner weeping silently to itself.

I'm here. As for the whole cop thing, I think I'd agree that a cop that makes a block should come forward and mention it. I agree it wouldn't be smart to have them come forward to say they didn't block anything though (unless they're closing in on being lynched and need to reveal of course).
