Let me be honest and air some dissatisfaction with the state of martial law that we are still in. I have learned through past experience that the law, when unchecked, may run amok. I hoped there would be no occasion for the same here on Mars. And, to this point, you have exhibited what I would characterize as a heavier hand than appropriate with a few of our fellow colonists.

That said, I still hold the opinion that your intentions are to benefit the group. Further, timmae and font, two of our fellows in whom I have the most confidence, are ardent supporters of your leadership. So I am motivated to continue in service to our fledgling government in the hopes that it will be the ideal tool to ensure the prosperity of our new lives on Mars.

I'm looking back through the thread, particularly at those with Great physical ability to see who is most likely to oppose our government. Britrock was not confrontational but makes clear here that he is not a fan of martial law, and he has the physical ability to deal with JAG.

Thom, you and I may need to have a chat this evening. So in light of that you have a couple options.

1. You can throw me in jail, and look very suspicious
2. You can explain why you are voting against Zinto for speaking out against you, and help me understand why I feel like I was intentionally blocked from interrogating him last night.
3. You can let me visit you this evening and when I end up dead you will also look suspicious
4. You can book your stay in the medical center now

You now know my intentions, what you do should speak volumes for the rest of the colony.

Shoveler is another colonist with the ability to take out JAG. he has been forthright in his concerns about Thomkal's government.

Autumn 02-27-2015 08:42 AM

I am currently assuming everyone told the truth about their physical abilities. I think that is a reasonable assumption because I don't think our current revolutionaries had any reason to think they would be in this position before Thomkal took over, and so had no reason to be wary.

With that said only Shoveler and Britrock appear to have the strength to take on JAG, other than Thomkal himself. Zinto, GoldenEagle and NTN do not have physical abilities listed, so they are secondary suspects, but I don't see much reason to expect one of them is very strong.

So my choice for now is between Brit and Shoveler. The fact that Chief and JAG were targeted may suggest a veteran like Britrock. However, it may be that the revolution was simply targeting those in leadership positions. Chief was our chief doctor, and JAG was on the police force. So I think it could be either of these two. for now ...

Don't forget that there is a gun in play. Physical skill is probably a moot point if you have the gun in your possession.

EF said everyone has a past... the following list did not provide any indication of questionable histories.

Font, DG, Zinto, CF, Raven, GE, ntn, brit, jackal, grover, saldana.

They may not have shady histories but we should track accordingly.

timmae 02-27-2015 09:34 AM

Thought for the group... could the wolves be those that did not vote for Thom? How many were there that voted Font? Just throwing things out there.

Autumn 02-27-2015 09:46 AM

That's a really good point, Timmae, and I think possibly right on. I had forgotten that when voting I had considered that likelihood. It's part of why I voted Thomkal despite my reservations, I figured there would be effects of the vote. Looking at that day to see how people likely voted is a good idea.

The gun could have been used in the last 2 murders... with the notes. Different murder pattern for sure.

I've been asking about that damn gun... who had it last?

This seems to be a huge mystery. Obviously no one is willing to admit they would have the gun for fear they'll immediately be lynched.

.... consulting "the list"... ummm...

timmae 02-27-2015 10:49 AM

The Gun was discovered Day 3. There is no discussion of who discovered it or how it was found. We do know that Font was the leader at the time. Maybe she knows more? Also, the following individuals were working on the task that day:

On Voted Action
britrock88
Suicane75
Thomkal
GoldenEagle
DanGarion
Raven
Shoveler
Zinto
CrimsonFox

Could one of them snuck off to search (i.e. be a searching role within the game)? The medical center was not completed due to lack of effort.

Chief didn't get 100% better. Was it due to not having the full team on him? Those caring for him that night:

Work on Chief Rum
Autumn
ntndeacon
fontisian

Ugh. Feel better soon!

timmae 02-27-2015 11:12 AM

Also, what action are we proceeding with today? If we don't act are we just wasting a day and picking off another person with no real progress to show for it?

I would recommend we agree on voting as a group and then proceeding with the action as a group. If we have 10 separate actions we'll be sitting ducks... err... martians.

Thomkal 02-27-2015 11:20 AM

The memorial for JAG and Chief Rum will be held tonight-attendance is mandatory. I caution those colonists going on exploring missions to make sure you have at least one partner you can trust-wouldn't want to see anymore "accidents"

I will be gone for a good chunk of the afternoon now "taking care of govt. business"

Grover 02-27-2015 11:23 AM

I had no idea we had been dropped off the middle of Mars' own Jonestown...

timmae 02-27-2015 11:25 AM

I'm not sure GE should be discounted just because he had a duke ability, but I'm likely to look elsewhere at least today.

Interesting that JAG and CR were 2 of 3 voting for Dan yesterday - someone trying to set him up?

In regards to my past, I did something that I'm not proud of - let's say my brain lost the chess game, if you get the Seinfeld reference. But it doesn't affect my engineering capabilities, which is all you need be concerned with.

Fair consideration. Would there be anyone that the group might be willing to openly possess the gun?

- Thomkal (he's the leader, but is he too powerful?)
- britrock (police force, but admittedly can be physically excessive)
- Shoveler (uses brawn to get information)

Just chewing it over.

1. It's a set-up!
2. DanGarion controlled both NKs and lashed out at his voters!
3. There's no way it could have been a result of chance! :p

Quadola:

We should pay some attention to this. I think I'm out by virtue of having Autumn treat me, but we should get people to cover some ground on the flatlands (the safest area). Figuring out where that gun is might be helpful in planning exploration groups.

I don't think we have any sort of a COT (circle of trust, for new players)

I think we'd be more comfortable if someone who we're holding accountable for actions, etc, is in possession of it though. It might also make them a target for a NK, however, if the gun ends up being an extra kill for the bad guys.

britrock88 02-27-2015 12:01 PM

As for possible motives to last night's attacks... I recall rivalries among Thomkal, Shoveler, myself, and JAG, and between Autumn, ntndeacon (to a lesser extent), and Chief Rum during the period when we were all jockeying for leadership positions.

But among that group of people, (and leaving some shady backgrounds aside--don't we all have them?) everybody seems pretty pro-colony in the public discussion we've had in two weeks. So I'm struggling to identify suspects from that group.

Are we interested in following up on yesterday's set of lynch leaders?

EagleFan 02-27-2015 12:08 PM
