Coffee Warlord 04-15-2007 08:27 PM

Yes. It's been my experience that once he posts anything after he says the 'pms are going out' line, the bidding pm's are done.

Coffee Warlord 04-15-2007 08:28 PM

And...jail Ardent. Please.

I absolutely, totally, positively do not trust him with as much money as he'll have under his belt if he wins that many lawsuits again.

Besides, there's no doubt that the Ironhead is going to jail me. None.

DaddyTorgo 04-15-2007 08:33 PM

Coffee Warlord 04-15-2007 08:33 PM

Oops - going to delete a post intended for the Titan Quest dyansty page.

Autumn 04-15-2007 08:36 PM

I'm not really caught up, so someone please tell me why Peregrinus being loyal casts doubt on Ardentus? What else do these results tell us?

I'm hoping since the section was missing entirely, that he just forgot to put it in.

hoopsguy 04-15-2007 08:38 PM

Never mind - too late as it has already been quoted and incorporated into other stuff. My apologies for clogging up the game with worthless posts :o:eek:

Coffee Warlord 04-15-2007 08:38 PM

Unless he's invis, I don't even see cronin on the boards anymore.

Actually I am not right now. I will give you the same chance/test we gave Dodgerchick. Given your newfound wealth you are in a great position to help the village if you are loyal. If you place bids on the sword kill and do not use it against the village we know you are good.

Autumn 04-15-2007 08:47 PM

Well, I'm not sure what progress we've made. I'll be interested in hearing service reports from everybody. I bid, and lost, for Ardentus's services yesterday.

And please, vote for who you would like arrested.

Grammaticus 04-15-2007 08:49 PM

I bid on the sword killer as the backup to the backup and I did not get him.

I know that is a big surprise.

Done, as in, I'll do it right now.

Poli 04-15-2007 08:53 PM

Done.

Ironhead 04-15-2007 08:58 PM

I bid on the services of Balbus Senna and did not win.

Poli 04-15-2007 09:01 PM

I've now received a PM back from cronin. He has my bid.

Poli 04-15-2007 09:08 PM

I'm retiring to chambers, but I thought I'd add this as well before I did:

The reason I sued was not for wealth, it was in hope of gaining info on someone, anyone. I figured the whole "using logic and whatever" the other word was might help me in determining if someone was loyal to the Republic or not.

Anyhow, I now fear for Narcizco. The 2nd best lawyer hasn't had a good track record.

Actually, given my wealth status, I fear for me now.

Abe Sargent 04-15-2007 09:13 PM

Okay, two days ago, my first day of enchanced wealth, I bud on and received the services of Ardent. Yesterday I ordered him to investigate KWhit which I just got back. KWhit is not guilty of any crime.

Barkeep49 04-15-2007 09:27 PM

Well I'm saddened but not surprised to see Peregrine still put me in jail.

Have to tell you I'm a little nervous that Narcizo has so much power, being the second best lawyer and tribune of the plebs. Not to mention tribune of the plebs seems to be a temporary position as of late, so maybe I don't have anything to fear from that power after all.

Anyhow obligatory Toss DC over the cliff because I sure don't want it to be me.

Ironhead 04-15-2007 09:37 PM

Anxiety - Question for you regarding lawyer use. Would you have had the ability to do both a scan and a prosecution yesterday? Could you have given Ardent's services to the Senate to prosecute our jailed members yesterday AND do a scan?

No, it was either or

I'd like to hear how DC feels, now that she got her wish.

There was one extra tidbit when I hired Swaggs that I didn't mention for obvious reasons. I was allowed to have him investigate one person that day. For the record, it was KWhit, and I was informed that Swaggs found no evidence of wrongdoing by him.

And now Swaggs is dead. Granted, he's in a high profile role to begin with, but I have to wonder if the bad guys knew exactly what ability Swaggs had and took care of business early.

Love ya AE, but I gotta wonder about you. I will concede that it's entirely possible only he had that ability, but, well, yeah.

Coffee used the lawyer for defense on Day 2 and also claims to have used him to scan KWhit.

CW, can you weigh in here?

path12 04-15-2007 10:42 PM

I didn't get my bid on Ardent, but I guess we already knew that.

path12 04-15-2007 10:43 PM

Dola, never mind, I'm stupid. I read Anxiety's post as that he got Ardent today and not two days ago.

Anyway, I didn't get my bid on Ardent.

path12 04-15-2007 10:44 PM

My biggest mistake this game was not keeping a notesheet. I should have known in a game this size. :(

Abe Sargent 04-15-2007 10:45 PM

In case anyone wonders why I chose KWhit -

1). Has a lot of money, and I wanted to make sure he was on our side because of it

2). Gained his money over time like no one else. Wanted to make sure we didn;t allow a bad guy to gain a bunhc of wealth right in front of us without challenging it.

3). Purloined Letter.

4). There was the whole, I send my horses but KWhit claimed he didn;t get them. Now we have confirmed that something happened.

This would be interesting to know more about, since both Coffee and KWhit's trustworthiness are largely based on this exchange.

Nice job. I'd like to hear more about this.

Abe Sargent 04-15-2007 10:51 PM

Nope, I just double checked. I can either use the lawyer for myself, in which I can have him do an investigation, or I can assign him to the Senate for investigations there. Its an either/or, not both

path12 04-15-2007 10:56 PM

I've got no issue with using the scan on KWhit, by the way -- IIRC that was right after the arrest miscommunication with Barkeep, so either of them would have been logical.

I wonder if Ardent could be hired to scan himself?

Ironhead 04-15-2007 10:57 PM

Definitley not condeming CW yet, but this really makes me wonder. Quite frankly I expected to be killed last night. I have twice prevented the wolves from getting an extra day kill, I was being elected as Consul and I at least felt like I had some decent leads on people.

Instead the wolves found it more important to remove the Tribune of the Plebs, which if they get one of their own members there we will not be able to arrest them and would have to rely on a sword kill. Makes me wonder if they left me alive because my assumptions so far have been way off base.

I asked, because he was my first target, and was told he could not.

Lorena 04-15-2007 11:19 PM

That's funny, I was involved in a whole lotta lawsuits and only won 1! I must have some serious bad luck.
