There was an update on the local news about the monkey story Saturday announcing "progress" because 1 of the monkeys had been captured. If that's the accepted definition of progress, that explains the election.

At last report last night, they've gotten 25 of the 43 monkeys.

The drones have made an appearance. Had several in my neighborhood and right over my house. Kind of weird and creepy. The government definitely knows something about this.

I have no idea what's going on with the drones other than it's not just a bunch of hobbyists getting together. Something is going on but don't know what (my vote is aliens finally about to emerge :) ... or Amazon doing some secret testing)

I watched that video and the guy came off as someone with an ax to grind with the current administration. I also saw somewhere that theory started with Alex Jones but I could be wrong. I didn't really want searches for Alex Jones to be in any of my algorithms.

The concept is at least plausible. I live less than 5 miles from Naval Weapons station Earle and we have certainly had a lot of activity. I was getting firewood the other night and three of them passed right over my house.

Whatever it is, it will be less exiting and more dumb than people imagine.

Honestly I really hope so but it is pretty creepy when it is literally in your backyard. I am smack in the middle of the ocean where they are allegedly coming from, a naval weapons station, and the state police training barracks, a few miles from each.

It's pretty wild that we dispatched fighter jets to shoot down balloons that no one could see a few years ago but we are totally fine with mystery drones buzzing suburban areas. Even if it is nothing, which it probably is, why are there no answers and why does the government not seem concerned. They could atleast acknowledge that the military is responsible, and they could disclose nothing else.

It's just another example of continued failure from our government.

I saw that some NJ rep and Maryland's governor observed some of the reported sightings and said they were Orion and planes. No doubt there is something going on, but I'm guessing the multitude of these sightings are just people seeing lights and assuming they are drones. So, the reported sightings are overblown, even if there's something going on of a limited nature.

The government knows for sure and isn't telling us. Not only are they flying over residential areas, they are flying over military bases and the coast guard reported several followed one of their ships.

I was discussing with my wife why these aren't simply shot down. The only way they would be down is if they can get them over the ocean, and even then it is risky. Imagine something the size of an SUV coming crashing down in a residential area. Also, whatever was used to shoot at it poses a risk to the ground. It isn't as simple as shoot it down. Unless they are an immediate danger, they aren't going weapons free on them.

Yeah, this is what I assumed. Military testing that they aren't 100% ready to admit to or feel the need to explain. Why it would be in NJ and not the middle of a desert, who knows.

There's no point in panicking until the DoD is panicking.

Most dense state in the nation. They could be testing to see how people react, or they could be testing some tech to see how various electronic signals effect their tech.

People have poked fun about the fact that the drones are over Jersey but they either don't realize or don't care we have a concentration of people, are between 2 major metropolitan areas, have major ports and airports, have several military bases, and the future POTUS has a home here.

Anyone see Kirsten Gillibrand on CNN admitting that whatever these drones are that our military doesn’t have the technology to detect them on radar? That sounds like the most concerning thing I’ve heard yet. I’d expect our military should be able to detect every consumer drone on the market as the Patriot Missile Defense systems are eating drones up in Ukraine.

They have clearly made the calculation that not telling us anything is less frightening that telling us the truth.

So, my mom saw this headline and jumped to the conclusion that these 2 men were killed by a sasquatch. She's also a die-hard Trumper. I'm pretty sure those 2 things are related.

I also choose to believe these two were killed by sasquatch just because it would make the story much more interesting.

It's funny - so many of the headlines on various sites say it like the above to make it ambiguous at best, to encourage clicks. NPR says something like, "Two men die of exposure while hunting for Sasquatch."
