Or one of us can choose to lose the game. You may note we're all in the same quandary as you. |
Actually, several of you can choose to WIN the game by joining me. Just not as a King.
It's far more absurd for the person in the driver's seat to bend knee. |
Quote:
Except the first person to bend the knee is the one who will die. It would have been better had you died. I think we shall have to await divine intervention. |

Attack someone and maybe someone will aid you in the hope of capturing a bannerman or a king. |
Quote:
I'm going to anyway today. It in all likelihood costs me the game, but the alternative is boring, and it beats everyone sitting around. I simply declare myself having won. |
In fact attack someone and you might be captured and forced to bend the knee and will then win the game as a bannerman. Which is the choice you're offering. You cannot lose.
|
Oh, hell no. If I get captured, I'm either dying or taking the black. But it's stupid for everyone to just sit here. So, whoever does 'win', thank me.
House Stark marches on Highgarden. |
Well, now. There we go...
|
Joffrey I would appreciate a reply to my raven with any information you might have.
|
HOUSE STARK marches on HOUSE BARATHEON OF STORM'S END at HIGHGARDEN!
King Renly Baratheon (path12) has until the deadline to decide whether to meet the Starks directly or to retreat for a day to another keep. The default will be to retreat (if path12 doesn't get on in time). |
Quote:
Stand up and take it like a man Renly. Oops! I should watch my expressions. |
Well, we had what six hours to go? No need to be so hasty, Robb. But boys will be boys.
|
We had an hour to go.
And be real. You know full well it wasn't gonna happen. |
Oh crap, I didn't realize the deadline was early.
No, I don't know that, I was spending what little time i had discussing behind the scenes a plan that would have involved declaring war on you. But it seems I would have been too late anyway. |
Ah well. This'll be more fun anyway.
|
The game is afoot.
Lord Varys |
Deadline.

As soon as the ravens arrive, King Stannis orders Ser Axel Florent rounded up by his guards and brought to him.
"This is the law of our land, whether we like it or not," the King said. "We must abide by the law." "My Grace, I understand, and I have always known this was coming for me," Florent said. "Might I ask to leave under the terms of the Lord of Light?" "Of course, Ser Florent," the King said. He nods to the guards, who escort the bannerman to the main courtyard in Dragonstone. There, guards and squires and other keep workers toil to build a stake for a fire. Florent shows no fear as he watches this unfold. As the sun drifts down to the far west, and twilight begins to fall upon the keep, the work is done. Florent kneels before King Stannis. "King Stannis Baratheon, I give my life for you and for your kingdom, as you are Azor Ahai reborn, the messiah come again to save us all from the White Walkers, and deliver us to R'hllor, the Lord of Light," intoned Florent, who nonetheless shook with the passion of his offer. "I accept your sacrifice, Lord Ser Florent," the King responded. There was no emotion in his voice. The guards helped Ser Florent up the woodpile and tied him to the stake. There was a pause before a keepworker came forward with a torch. He threw it down amongst the dry kindling, and soon flames began to gather, and lick upon Florent's feet. The doomed man started to sweat. He suddenly screamed! "For the night is dark! And full of terrors!" The watching group of men all bowed their heads in prayer and repeated his prayer. He did this twice more, even as the flames seemed to be kept at bay by the fervor in his voice. "Lord of Light! Take me!" Florent screamed to the sky. Suddenly, the flames shot up the stake and engulfed him. His screams were horrible, but thankfully brief. How ironic, mused the grim King Stannis. "Here, in the ancient home of the Targaryeans, a House known once for being impervious to fire, that we should sacrifice a good man in this manner." Stannis left the courtyard without another word. SER AXEL FLORENT HAS BEEN EXECUTED AS AN ENEMY OF THE REALM |
(Fantastic writeups, every time, Chief.)

THE DAY TWELVE DEADLINE IS 5 P.M. EST/2 P.M. PDT FRIDAY
I normally would have left the deadline at night, but given I am working tomorrow night and there is likely to be a pivotal war tomorrow, I figured it better if I did that here at work, where I can run the war better. |

Thanks! |
We go to the default for the coming war--King Renly is delaying for a day, and the war is now open to all sides.
Highgarden is now in the hands of House Stark and is not generating income for either the Starks or Storm's End. The destination of King Renly--and the future site of the battle--has yet to be determined. |
does this mean im still alive?
escapes death |
Sorry, wasn't around this afternoon.
Okey doke. Should be fun. |
The battle will be at The Arbor.
|
I thought about it quite a bit today and decided that I will not bend the knee to anyone. If I am defeated it will be in battle.
|
Quote:
An admirable sentiment. |
Quote:
You choose... unwisely. |
Really do not understand why one of you would not join us and squash out the other two remaining armies.
|
I know why I wouldn't.
|
Quote:
You must be spending too much time with uneducated, goat loving fellows. |
Quote:
You should have gotten Storm's End, too bad Robert screwed you out of it. Or rather, George RR Martin did. Dragonstone is kind of like Wales isn't it? |
Quote:
A case of the head not knowing what the Hand is doing, wouldn't you say brother? |
Ah, Renly and Robb meeting in the field of battle. Where's my seat?
|
In truth, the need is clear for anyone that is not Renly or Robb Stark, we must join with my brother in battle. I do not do it out of love. But because if left to their own fighting, the victory will have another king as his captive, and the capability of adding their forces together.
So I will fight with Renly, not from love but to keep Robb Stark from him. If Renly bends the knee it will be to his elder brother and no one else. All the kings must join this fight and let fate decide who is the real victory. |
Last chance, Renly. You can surrender and bend knee, and make this interesting.
|
My bannermen fell for our right and just cause. Why should I not be willing to do the same?
I shall not bend. |
For the rest of you, you need to decide what gives you your best chance of surviving and being victorious - lining up against me does, more than likely, eliminate me.
What then? You wouldn't bend knee to me, will you bend knee to another? Are you certain you are strong enough to be victorious? Are you certain you will end the day in a position to do anything? Or will this just result in another stalemate, where everyone is afraid to commit to battle? |
I should imagine that there will be a certain amount of land grabbing should you lose Stark. Unless it is the Imp that is captured.
|
Storm's End was raided in the night by Tyrion Lannister's Mountain Men.
|
Tyrion Lannister's Mountain Man army sneak attacked King Renly near Storm's End again, but this time, they were not successful. Both sides suffered minor losses and no gold was taken.
|
I would welcome a raven before the battle is joined from any lords.
|
Now might be an oportune moment for the bannermen to flee. You're pretty much on the front- line for this one. I can't see why you would want to die in this battle when your king's sit safely at the back of the fighting.
|
Advice so wise I decided to say it thrice.
|
I do not see how any living bannerman who is not an enemy of the realm may flee his liege, Cersei. Perhaps a king may disavow or release the bannerman.
|
Bannermen are always free to flee, period.
|
Hey Renly.
While you'e clearly just waiting for the right time to surrender today, answer me a question...was there an attempt on your life we didn't hear about? |
Lord Varys, I thank you.
|
Quote:
Funny you should mention that, I just learned that there was. I wonder how you were aware of the attempt? ;) |
Quote:
The same man you just thanked, actually. Apparently, his little birds say I'm to blame for it, no less. As I've said before, and as I'll say again - House Stark not only has not ever sent an assassin, I was expressly forbidden to do so. I'm sure you've sent maesters to my lands - you really think I wouldn't have sent legions of killers out had it been otherwise? Likely changes little at this point, but I will not go down with my honor stained with the taint of assassinations. |
