The picture says it all: a black eye. Cuts and scrapes all over his face. A swollen lip.

Police say the mugshot was taken after William Mattson was accused of sexually assaulting a woman.

The police department in Conway, South Carolina, posted the photo on its Facebook page along with an explanation that its officers had gone to a residence about 1 a.m. Thursday after reports of a sexual assault.

They found 52-year-old Mattson in the condition seen in the photo. According to police, the injuries were inflicted "by someone acting in defense (of) the victim."

Conway Police charged Mattson with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in that city, just inland from Myrtle Beach.

Saw this yesterday somewhwere. His Nephew was the one who beat him and he was protecting his girlfriend.

Is that the place on 1st Street in San Jose? I forget the name, but I saw Dick Dale play there.

It's the Saddle Rack up in Fremont. My band (Old School Rock and Roll) plays '60s rock - Beatles, Kinks, Rolling Stones, Tommy James and the Shondelles, etc. Once a year we throw a charity concert to benefit the Relay for Life, a charity that fights cancer. We don't have all the money collected yet, but we're already over $10,000. So it was a blast, AND we raised a lot of money. It was a great time!

Also, got to meet some pretty cool, very talented musicians who closed out the show. If you're into Bluegrass at all, check out Crawdad Republic. Amazing vocals and some pretty good writing.

I have a friend who has a daughter with a genetic disorder that will likely take her life in the next few years. This weekend, she got to meet two-time Olympic softball gold medalist Dot Richardson as part of the Make-A-Wish foundation. She was able to throw out the first pitch at a college game, be the bat girl for Dot's team, hand the lineup card to the umpires, and even wear Dot's Olympic gold medals. Really cool stuff for a great kid.

No offense to Vince's ass, but we're blessedly almost to page 418...
