I think Pumpy needs help

Mustang 01-23-2009 04:03 PM

I did not know that JCVD was in Breakin...

It is true, you learn something new every day.

Seriously?

His first theatrical experience, apparently (in 1984).

I actually think the entry below the highlighted one was funnier.

I still can't get Van Dam's swaying hips out of my mind. Perhaps there is something more to his hips than just face value.

The D&D ad? I didn't get it.

Autumn 01-28-2009 08:35 PM

I think all there is to get is the idea that they're pitching D&D as some cool alternative to being a juvenile delinquent. PLus they think that kind in overalls is cool.

The kids are still smiling in the ad.

Obviously they haven't met the fury of the hermit yet.

I was in the convenience store this morning, and saw some JCVD movie where he froze a guy and then kicked him to pieces. Nifty. He should have done this dance afterward.

Hmm...sure you're not thinking about Sly Stallone in Demolition Man?

Kodos 01-29-2009 10:54 AM

No, it was definitely JCVD. I've only seen a couple of his movies, so not sure which one it was. Looked like it had a sci-fi bent to it.

Rizon 01-29-2009 10:58 AM

Why on earth is JCVD doing that gay ass clap every few seconds?
Oh wait, it's JCVD.

I think at the end of Timecop he freezes the bad guy and shatters him.

It was almost but not quite the ending of Terminator 2 as well. And probably a billion other scifi movies.

DataKing 01-29-2009 01:53 PM

What movie wouldn't be made better by somebody getting frozen then shattered? :)

Heck, they even did it in Heroes.

Karate Kid would have. Imagine if Daniel's leg was frozen and then Johnny swept it.

That's the movie I felt was being ripped off as I watched it.

I thought he threw the guy into the other version of the guy and they destroyed each other because you can't have the same matter in the same place at the same time or something like that.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure they froze first before disintegrating.

(That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Really there are so many freakin' scifi movies with freezing guys shattering that I'm pretty sure JCVD was in at least one if not more, especially given all the low-budget fare he's in these days...)

cuervo72 01-29-2009 03:03 PM

Actually, I was going to comment on one of these in the 'V' thread. In the original there was a scene where a worker was handling or exposed to liquid gas, it froze his arm, then he bumped it into a pole/rail and it shattered off. Freaked me out.

I'll have to wait for them to show it on Spike again, to be sure. ;)
