Nice find pilotman, the Canadian one is bang on from my experience.
|
The Italian one is pretty accurate as well. They are not a succinct culture when it comes to language. I remember using the phrase "getting my second wind". They asked what did that mean. I told them it was when you are really tired, but you get a burst of energy and keep going. They said in Italian, we call that "when you are really tired, but you get a burst of energy and keep going". :D

I like the idea of the speech patterns but the shapes add nothing to the visualization for me
SI |
I think there is some method to the madness of the visualization but I haven't figured it out yet.

I think wider = larger vocabulary used or something, but it doesn't help me visualize at all SI |

I think the lines show where the two sides are during the negotiations. Wider = more disagreement; seemingly further apart in position. Thus with the Germans, you always know where you stand, but the Turks can be all over the place and you don't know where you stand. Thus the conclusion of Indonesian where you don't what just happened. |

Thanks 21C, that one made me laugh. Our birdfeeder is raided every morning by squirrels. Looks like I need something like this :) Going to steal this for my facebook :)

If you don't want to get kicked in the head by the train engineer, don't stand so close to the tracks, ron of the mo variety.

not sure what confuses me more, the vid or the explanation...
|
Huge thread on Reddit on this. It looks like the conductor didn't "kick" the kid, but stuck his foot out right in front of metal that would have taken his head off. Rather than kick, he put his foot out as a shield and it pushed the kid away from the tracks and danger.
The kid was trying to take a selfie and was standing closer to the tracks than he should have. |

What... a selfie video? |
Something about his reaction just sounds like a bunch of BS.
|
|
Sheesh. Wasn't it obvious that the video is fake?
The people that believed this one was real, must also think that Michael Vick threw the ball 300 yards in that one Powerade commercial. |
