Trump doubled down on the FBI never actually getting the DNC's physical server along with the conspiracy theory that's its sitting somewhere in Ukraine yesterday during a Fox and Friends interview.
With the Boomer vs Millennial talk on the board today this is a good example of why Boomers need voted out office. The question of whether or not the physical server has any importance is a litmus test for basic IT knowledge and if you fail that question you shouldn't be holding any office that requires the use of or understanding of IT principles. |
Com'on Bolton, join the fun, give Trump the finger, and testify.

As polls are showing that support for impeachment is actually dropping since the open hearings (especially among independents) it really highlights how much MSM's influence has totally eroded outside the "coasts." It also highlights how hard it is going to be for any Democrat to beat Trump in 2020. The Right has condition people to trust no news source, but believe every conspiracy theory. I just don't see how we correct this.

I don't see how the Dems can decide not to continue the inquiry. The GOP isn't going to vote to convict, so just keep investigating and see what comes out. A whole lot came out in a month, so see what happens over the next year.
But I expect they'll wrap everything up by Christmas and pass it on to the Senate so they can focus on solving people's problems or some such nonsense slogan. |

Just this weekend: Sarah Sanders said the President reads more than anyone she knows. Sen. Kennedy said that it may be the Russians or the Ukrainians that interfered with the 2016 election. and Rick Perry said Trump was the chosen one. I'm less sure we get out of this with each passing day. When the GOP is willing to make Trump a God-Emperor, I'm not sure how we regain normality. |
Yeah, the recent results from actual elections have been heartening, but it is maddening that slime keeps pouring out of this administration at an unprecedented rate and yet the needles indicating public & political support never appear to move in the slightest.

The GOP is in fight or flight mode. The party is dying and they do realize it which why Cornyn has tweeted and said the things he has. This fight is about the survival of the party for them so they're willing to do whatever it takes to retain power. The gerrymandering, the Trump worship, the immigration stance, the corruption all goes back to maintaining power and relevance as the country goes through a transition away from being dominated by older, white, religious men. Whether or not we can get back to normality likely comes down to whether Trump wins in 2020 and just how quickly the makeup of this country changes and flips some traditional red areas blue. |
A good statement from China but want deeds vs words.
My cynical self is thinking China offered this up so Trump has a face saving way of proceeding with & accepting Phase 1 of the trade war pullback. But am hopeful this is a fundamental change in Chinese policy and will result in real reform (but probably not). China vows more protection for intellectual property - MarketWatch Quote:

We fired the Navy leader over this Gallagher shit?

Yes, despite all of his military advisers telling him to stay out of it. President Snowflake can't look weak though. |
Quote:
No. We fired him because he spoke out against Trump and has honor. |
Gallagher is the perfect poster boy for Trump. For all I know about military law it might be questionable whether stabbing a captured and restrained individual enemy soldier qualifies as a war-crime, but I'm absolutely certain it doesn't make you any kind of hero.

To be fair, if the Secretary of the Navy didn't follow the chain of command and he said one thing privately and did something else publicly, then he deserves to be fired. |
Double dola,
It is bullshit though. If you're going to fire the Secretary of the Navy for lacking integrity, then you need to resign the office of Secretary of Defense because you work for someone you lacks any kind of integrity whatsoever. |
And Esper's story doesn't make much sense. He fired the Secretary because he made a secret deal with Trump to rig the hearing so that Gallagher would keep his trident, so Esper fired him and gave Gallagher his trident.
Meanwhile, the Secretary's story is that Trump's order was impossible for him to follow, so he refused and was terminated. I know which story I find more credible. |

I coincidentally started it yesterday. It's stuff like this that makes it really come into focus. Trump supporters say God chose him to be president It's really interesting when god chooses people for good things, without the recognition that he also chooses them for bad. All those good people who died yesterday, were also chosen by god, no? |

Now why would you need to have two sets of books? Wikipedia has an explanation as to why you would and sounds like it's not uncommon for publicly traded companies. However, I don't think trump's property is a publicly traded company or under the umbrella of one. I could be wrong though. However, trump and his rabble's default setting is to be dishonest about almost everything...
New documents show Trump kept 2 sets of books for his biggest property in Manhattan, pointing to potential financial fraud |
Quote:
He could maintain one set of books to maximize his income and thus brag about how rich he is. Given his ego I wouldn't dismiss the possibility. He could maintain another to show to the IRS to show how broke he is. Or it could be fraud. Either way this reminds of that one scene from The Producers. |
Quote:
Wait, wouldn't that be fraud anyway? |

I'm leaning towards fraud. If trump didn't have the reputation of lying and cheating and not paying, then I would be leaning more towards everything being on the up and up. |
