And it will work. The reality of this is none of it matters to the base and the right will fall in lock step. |
I recorded it so I’m behind but if EVERY dem doesn’t hammer home the fact that he claims quid pro quo then they are doing it wrong. They need Sondeland to say over and over it happened.
|
I am concerned the R's will spin this impeachment with them now subpoenaing Hunter Biden and maybe after that Joe Biden as a way to swear the likely (maybe) Dem nomination. It is smelling like Hillary all over. We may have no choice to but nominate Warren or Sanders even if they can't beat Trump with the Medicare for all stuff. Ugh.
|
Makes sense given all they want to talk about is Biden & his son.
|
Quote:
Yes since they are the ones being impeached. It makes perfect sense.:banghead: |

Great. Now he can testify.

You can't make this stuff up.

Now they (who 'they are, I don't know) are saying pompeo is resigning to run for the senate. Sounds like an 'easy out' that he's taking.
|
Just started Nunes cross examination and he starts with full on Ukranian conspiracy theory and DNC server. Christ how does anyone not see through this

That can't be real. No way. |

This was rumored right about the time he lost the backing of State, couple months ago? |

Looks like after Sondland's testimony, it kind of accelerated his plans. |

That needs to be in the National Archive, like ASAP. That needs to be on display right next to the Gettysburg Address. |

Best line of the day by Rep Speier. "The President of the United States has 5 Pinocchio's on a daily basis, so let's not go there". In response to a comment from the GOP representative trying to use a 3 Pinocchio article as evidence.

He's been travelling back and forth to Kansas (on our money of course) for a couple months now reportedly to try to set this up. Hope Kansas says no, and I hope whatever D is running against him uses the fact that he wouldn't cooperate with the Congress he wants to run for and wouldn't support the people working under him in the State Dept against him. |
Quote:
I'm not seeing this anywhere else and Abramson is a complete quack. I'm sure Pompeo is going to resign at some point, but this article doesn't acknowledge anything imminent. |
Quote:
Hopefully the people of Kansas do say no and definitely remind them over and over again him not wanting to cooperate. Shoot, they are probably still reeling from Brownback. Quote:
I really don't know much about Abramson, though I have heard of him. I just looked up his wikipedia and sounds like he may embellish things a bit, so my opinion would be to definitely take his stuff with a grain of salt. I found this: Mike Pompeo Is Searching for a Safe Exit From State Ahead of Senate Run, GOP Sources Say |
Nunes just said anyone who believes Trump is guilty is stupid. Solid strategy
|
So if Trump resigns in the next few months, maybe for "medical reasons", and Pence becomes president - is he automatically the Republican nominee, can the Republicans old-school figure it out at the convention, or do the primaries have any meaning (the deadlines for those which must be coming up soon, at least the non-cancelled ones).
|
Quote:
My guess is either a convention rule change to allow Pence to be nominated by acclamation, or something like 'some states hold their plebescites, but Trump doesn't get enough delegates and it becomes a wide-open nomination process.' |
Quote:
Because they don't want to. The Republican base is not turning on the President for this. They have no problem with the President using whatever means possible to make Democrats look bad. They do not care, and will never care. They believe Dems do much worse every day, and the MSM supports it. In the end, it really doesn't matter the defense. No GOP senator is voting for removal, because they do not want to be primary-ed, which they definitely will. |
Donald's on Twitter tilt this morning

If Trump wants to test his theory in shooting somebody on 5th Avenue. I hope he chooses Nunes.

Israel's Netanyahu having a bad day-coalition govt attempt in Israel fails for a second time. And he's been indicted on Fraud, breach of trust, and bribery charges. I hope this makes him ineligible/less likely to be voted for in a third election if it happens so Israel can move past him
|
I thought the GOP were supposed to be the ones that master the message?
|
Not a good day for Trump. Hill and Holmes testimonies destroyed every defense the GOP has used except the "trump was just being trump" and "it's not quid pro quo because it failed" defenses.

From what I hear they are still running with the “No one hears Trump say he did it so he must be innocent” |

And once again ladies and gentlemen, the party of fiscal responsibility:
Trump golf cart rentals have now cost US taxpayers more than half a million dollars Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's something from each administration we could nit pick, but, most of this is from HIS properties. So yes, sure, F the Emoluments Clause in addition to being hypocritical about fiscal responsibility. |
Senate announces investigation into the Biden’s as predicted:
Lindsey Graham Begins Senate Investigation Into The Bidens |

Man, the GOP sure does have a passion for those windmills. |
Everyone can just refuse to cooperate right? That's how investigations work.
|
Quote:
That's how they work if they are sincere. If they are a sham, it's easy to find "witnesses" that will provide the testimony you're looking for. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Lindsay does more political damage. |
More on this, the White House plans on calling Hunter Biden, Joe Biden and the Whistleblower as a part of their defense in a Senate trial.

They should refuse to show up and dare the GOP to complain about people ignoring subpoenas. |

... or say I don't recall or I'm not a note taker. Yesterday's testimonies showed to me that Sondland likely knew that investigating Burisma was same as investigating the Bidens. I sure hope he didn't get immunity, I would like to see him facing perjury. |
Quote:
Haha! That would be hilarious to me if they did that. Or if they instead talk about how pretty much most of trump's spawn works for him or ask how giuliani's son is the 'Sports Liaison' for the white house. |
