Sure
Round 1 is not the time to get fancy and there is a clearcut person on the board right now.
1.10 Muhammad, Religious Leader (Current Saudi Arabia is where he was born) |
did Galaril send a list?
I only ask because I'll be ready whenever the time comes |
Danny good value at the end of the first round. I will admit I'd never have thought we'd get 2 Saudi Arabia picks in round 1.
Agreed, solid pick Danny
Galaril picks:
1.11 - Abraham Lincoln, Leader/Ruler, United States, Pre-20th |
I knew we were gonna get him soon. Nice one. And there goes a whole boatload of worthy American leaders off the board.
I honestly don;t think any other Americans deserve to be Ruler/Leader except Lincoln, in a worldwide all history draft
1.12- Civil Rights- Nelson Mandela- South Africa- say what you want about MLK, he never spent 27 years in prison ( allthought I am sure he would have)
2.1- Artist-Leonardo Da Vinci- Italy- does it really need an explination? |
Son of a bitch. There go TWO on my shortlist. Jerk. :)

FDR? |
Totally like the Mandela pick. Major props there and I agree, more valuable than MLK. Da Vinci is solid too. Good value here.

:D |
eh - i debated mandela vs. MLK actually, but given the strategic pick of MLK in addition to the # of people and the years of oppression overcome i think MLK stacks up quite well to Mandela. Mandela was the only other person I would have considered for that category.

Galaril picks:
2.2 - Dwight D. Eisenhower, Army Chief, United States, 20th |
Quote:
nope. he just got shot and killed for it. |
Adam Smith is a GREAT pick in a weak category - Red Baron and MLK as well, if to a lesser extent.
i'm ready to go assuming the person in front of me doesn't pick my other choice i had in mind

This is why I was suprised you went Smith over Keynes. Keynes gave you Post 20th |
2.3 Mahatma Ghandi, Civil Rights Leader (India)
Ghandi can fill a 20th century spot right?
thank you sir, for not taking my pick
ohhh i gotta wait for NTN
Bah. Ghandi was MINE!
Quote:
Sure, he was alive during both time periods. |
I think Ghandi King, and Mandela are 1 1A 1AA of the civil rights category, in some order. All three are absolutely fabulous picks.
I was hoping Ghandi would fall.

Fair enough
Don't get me wrong, I think you're right that Keynes, as 20th century, deserves consideration.

+1  |
Quote:
+1 here too, though I'd put King 1 and Ghandi 1A. |
Quote:
Ayup, those were the exact 3 I had jotted down for early possibilities when I made a quick list. Now it gets much harder on that one. |
King was gonna be my choice but obviously I had to take Mandela instead.
There is a guy who I honestly feel was one of the ten most important and influential people of the 20th century, but no one knows who he is. It will be interesting to see if any of you agree.
Your dungeon game was good, but not that good Abe
Heh. I loves you too Danny. The person I am thinking of has a top notch resume but is a bit esoteric and probably not a name most know. Even if a few did, taking him would not help my nation get votes, you know?
grrrr - ntn was here and now he's gone
I saw too
2.4 Karl Marx-Economist-Germany-Pre 20th century
Very nicely done!
assface!!!!!
that was gonna be my pick next!!! |
literally

Nicely done. I was looking at the exact same thing. |
now i need time to come up with something else *sighs*
You didn;t have a backup? Come on now
I just hope DT and CW don't take my next pick. :p
point of fact - adam smith was actually scottish
