God I hope the Patriot don't get Dan Williams, that would be major suckage.

k0ruptr 04-22-2010 08:42 PM

Gresham should be solid from the start. Stay healthy and he will be the starter right away

Swaggs 04-22-2010 08:42 PM

Sergio Kindle for the Pats here?

Swaggs 04-22-2010 08:42 PM

Whoops... guess not.

JPhillips 04-22-2010 08:42 PM

Very good.

Honolulu_Blue 04-22-2010 08:42 PM

WR Demaryius Thomas to the Broncos?

gstelmack 04-22-2010 08:43 PM

Broncos swap with Pats. Hmmm....

With the Bengals TEs he could start with his knee blown out.

k0ruptr 04-22-2010 08:43 PM

I also really like Jerry Hughes, I think he could be a solid solid backer for years.

DaddyTorgo 04-22-2010 08:44 PM

*sigh* well so much for the Pats actually picking someone with their pick...they've traded down so Kindle+Bryant will get taken by Denver and Green Bay and we'll end up with Dan Williams or some shit.

Mustang 04-22-2010 08:44 PM

Packers up... I'd assume Bulaga will be the pick.

Celeval 04-22-2010 08:44 PM

FWIW, I'm enjoying the NFL.com live feed - they're cutting over for the picks, but chatting in the studio in the meantime, so no spoilers. No interviews either, but I'll lose the interviews for the lack of spoils.

So they could get either Dan Williams, Dez Bryant,Thomas, Kindle whatever is left after NE and GB pick they should have two or three of those left to pick from. Why has Williams dropped so much again?

I'd probably say NE will take Bryant.. probably knew Denver would take Thomas, GB doubtful to take Bryant with Bulaga/Hughes/Kindle out there...

k0ruptr 04-22-2010 08:46 PM

I'm kind of surprised that Thomas goes before Dez Bryant

Solecismic 04-22-2010 08:47 PM

I'd be amazed if there wasn't cheering in the Packer green room. Bulaga at 23?

JonInMiddleGA 04-22-2010 08:48 PM

Thomas has all the potential to be a monster WR. There were numerous times to me he seemed like virtually the same sort of athletic freak that Calvin Johnson is.

Izulde 04-22-2010 08:48 PM

Ugh. Bryant looks set to go to the Patriots now. Or Williams.

Ugh ugh ugh.

DaddyTorgo 04-22-2010 08:49 PM

unless the Pats trade down again out of the first...LOL

+1

DaddyTorgo 04-22-2010 08:50 PM

Pats can't take Williams. They need Kindle if they go defense. D-Line doesn't need anymore damn bodies.

Izulde 04-22-2010 08:51 PM

*kicks the NFL.com feed*

bulletsponge 04-22-2010 08:52 PM

dammit, now Jared allen will have to earn his 5 sacks against GB

Swaggs 04-22-2010 08:52 PM

I'm betting Dallas trades out of the first round so someone can move up for a QB.

Mustang 04-22-2010 08:53 PM

Bulaga looks like he was cloned from Fuzzy Thurston.

Kindle doesn't scare me at all.

Solecismic 04-22-2010 08:54 PM

I'd like to see Odrick go to the Pats.

DaddyTorgo 04-22-2010 08:54 PM

I know. I'd rather they take Bryant personally.

k0ruptr 04-22-2010 08:55 PM

wonder if Taylor Mays is going to fall out of the first.

Swaggs 04-22-2010 08:57 PM

I really hope that Baltimore doesn't end up with Dan Williams.

Running against Ngata and Williams for the next four or five years will not be cool for the rest of the AFC North.

DaddyTorgo 04-22-2010 08:58 PM

OMG...THEY FUCKING TRADED IT AGAIN!!!

i'm done with the Hoodie. I honestly think he doesn't have enough confidence in his player evaluation to make first round picks.

I'm tired of it. We trade down down down for a million picks and none of them end up sticking with the fucking team.

Solecismic 04-22-2010 08:58 PM

So Dallas just jumped the Ravens. Smart move on the Pats' part. They are still guaranteed to get the front seven help they want.

Swaggs 04-22-2010 08:59 PM

So, am I missing it or is ESPN just not giving the details of these trades?

DaddyTorgo 04-22-2010 09:00 PM

I'm sure the party line will be

"Oh we wanted Sergio Kindle all along so we kept trading down for him."

But sometimes you've got to deviate from what you want when a gift horse falls into your fucking lap.

Ronnie Dobbs2 04-22-2010 09:01 PM

REEEEEE-LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAX.

Cringer 04-22-2010 09:01 PM

Very happy with the Packers taking an OT.

And one reason I like Twitter I guess, instant player reaction to their team's picks.

New England gave Dallas a 4th and got Dallas' 3rd for the swap.

Standings through 24 picks:

Raiders Army 512
QuikSand 485
ShadowJack 479
Mustang 457
Swaggs 419

cartman 04-22-2010 09:02 PM

That pick puts a whole new light on the dealings Bryant had with Deion.

spleen1015 04-22-2010 09:02 PM

I'm glad Bryant went some where other than NE.

Thomkal 04-22-2010 09:02 PM

Looks like my Cards will go LB here, which I feel is kind of a wasted pick when they just could have kept Karlos Dansby.

Mustang 04-22-2010 09:03 PM

What... is a 4 year old running the Pats for you to get this angry?

Matthean 04-22-2010 09:03 PM

Do the Cowboys get to play with more footballs than other teams?

I was watching that until I got control of the TV. Both NFL.com and NFLN have had great coverage, IMO.

Swaggs 04-22-2010 09:04 PM

Looks very possible now.. I wonder how pissed he is at Pete.

Glad to see the Cowboys take Dez Bryant - I think his immaturity leads to him being a big bust there.

Thomkal 04-22-2010 09:05 PM

and here goes Tebow

Solecismic 04-22-2010 09:05 PM

If the Pats liked Bryant, they would have grabbed him at 22. There's some depth with receivers with second-round grades.

They're doing fine, and will use the extra picks to trade up in the second round when something comes along.

Gotta enjoy it while I can...but it won't last.

Galaril 04-22-2010 09:05 PM

I love Gruden. He just totally verbally bitched slap Young when for like the fourth time he was talking shit about Denver's McDaniel and trading away Brandon Marshall. Classic. He is right to the guy caught ton of passes none in the playoffs and when in the last game they needed him hewas able to play.Correct.

DaddyTorgo 04-22-2010 09:05 PM

That would be the stadium where he would be closest to Jesus.

Eh...I'm just irritated. I'd like to see them stick and take a pick for once...instead of constantly trading down. Especially because BB hasn't really shown that his "trade down and get a ton of picks" strategy has resulted in getting guys that stick on the team.

Frankly I think Pioli was much more important than any of us thought.

JonInMiddleGA 04-22-2010 09:06 PM

Congrats to Tebow, heck of a gamble, but one that I believe will pay off for Denver better than most of the other options available to them.

A lot to pay for a Wildcat QB.

Wow. Baltimore with a heck of a trade.

JonInMiddleGA 04-22-2010 09:10 PM

Was it up the thread here somewhere where someone said (or reference someone's report) that McDaniel knew all along who he wanted & was maneuvering to get that player from the beginning?

Swaggs 04-22-2010 09:10 PM

I wonder if Kiper has ever missed by this much, on such a high profile guy, as with Clausen? I know Rodgers slid quite a bit, but I'm not sure how highly he was rated. He obviously ended up being a very good starter, so I'm not knocking Mel (who I like a lot) -- just curious as to whether or not he has had a top 5 guy drop out of the top 25 before.

There was an article a while back (Peter King?) that pointed out that the Patriots have really not done much in the draft since the first couple that BB and Pioli put together, and much of their mystique comes from taking Brady in the 6th round. And outside of the D-Line, they've missed a lot since then.

Galaril 04-22-2010 09:11 PM

No fucking way geez Tebow what hell did we get Quinn for.

That would be awesome. I think he has all of the physical skills to become a very good safety.

Tebow has what looks like a douchebag of a posse around him.

JonInMiddleGA 04-22-2010 09:11 PM

FTR, the only QB in this draft I believe will have an equal or better NFL than Tebow is Claussen and I'm not nearly 100% sure about even him.

cant believe ESPN managed to hype him into the 1st round. Mcdaniels is an idiot and i feel sorry for Denver fans. on the plus side i dont have to worry about the Vikes taking him at 1.30

I didn't enjoy the over-coverage that he got at Florida, but I'm rooting for Tebow. He seems like a good kid.

Thomkal 04-22-2010 09:12 PM

I have to say I just don't understand taking Tebow if your Denver. You just traded for Brady Quinn and Kyle Orton is serviceable. Surely you had a bigger need than QB?

Yeah. I saw that...and i agree.

It's almost like they know that now and they trade down to try to avoid making the hard decision or something.

Or that's how it seems to me.

Well, you have to think someone else at the bottom of the first was planning on taking Tebow or else Denver would not have felt the urgency to move up.
