The following coaches were signed:

Pepper Johnson was resigned as the Defensive Coordinator for 2 years at 820k per year.

John Hayes was signed as our Special Teams Coordinator for 3 years at 210k annually

We hire Health Facilities Corp. for three years for 2.89 million annually to run our training staff. HFC is one of the top three training businesses in the field and they are also one of the most expensive.

We sign a three year stadium naming rights deal with Hype Shoes. Every year in which we win 8 games or make the playoffs, they'll pay us 2.25 million.

A duffel bag. Oh, that will come in handy. Someplace convenient to place Bulger's head in when I find him. . .

RealDeal 11-03-2003 12:09 PM

Bulger was the 5th best QB in the NFC. Some fans will always look for something to bitch about. What this team needs is time, another stud in the secondary, and...

Marc "the Gun" Bulger

Desnudo 11-03-2003 01:04 PM

That 5th best ranking shows how the quarterback situation is in the NFC.

tucker342 11-03-2003 07:59 PM

All I can say is, 33 ints.....

Internal Scouting Memo

An Assessment of the Copperheads by Position:

Quarterback: Levi Ogden is the only quarterback currently under contract, but he does not appear to have the skills to start in the NFL. Marc Bulger remains our best option at quarterback for now, and we recommend that you re-sign him. Another backup would be nice. Recommendation: Re-sign Bulger to a 2 or 3 year deal. FInd a random backup.

Running Backs: Three running backs are under contract and all have good running abilities. Fullback James Hodgins is out of contract, but he remains a decent choice. Bernie Norton is not a full time starter. A new, better fullback would be nice, and upgrading at the position is a moderate desire. Recommendation: Resign Hodgins for one year while trying to find or develop a future starter.

Receiver: Our top four wideouts are under contract, but three of them are entering their final year. Az Hakim was a great punt returner but a poor kick returner. We'll need a 5th man, because Hakim dropped too many passes last year. Recommendation: Rework Craig Campbell's contract and extend it significantly. Find a warm body.

Tight End: Both Becht and Miller are under contract for another year and neither are the long-term players that we would like. Recommendation: Find a body for this year, or a long-term solution at TE.

Offensive Tackle: Jon Johnson and Kwame George are an excellent tandem. Additionally, we have backups at both positions for this year. No work needs to be done here.

Offensive Guard: Martin Bibla has three years left, and he has increased his play. A long term solution at the Right Guard spot would be helpful, although we can resign Leon for another year. Two backups are under contract. Recommendation: Resign Searcy for one year, see if we can't find a future fixture at the position.

Center: Dedric Arrington is solid and under contract. We need a backup.

Defensive End: With Dwayne Armstrong's breakthrough, all we need at the left spot is a backup. Michael Roberts is a great starter on the right and Dre Fisk is under contract for one more year.

Defensive Tackle - The DT spot is one under turmoil. Although Monsanto Pope is under contract for 2 more years, we have no other DTs under contract. Steve Martin can be resigned, but he is getting much older. Recommendation: Resign Steve to a one year deal. Find two backups or a future starter to groom.

Outside Linebacker: Matt Wilhelm and Kendall Ortiz, our starters last year, are nothing special. After several more years of work, they both may be pretty good, however. We need better starters now. Ortiz is currently out of contract but we have two backups at the right spot. Recommendation: Find a starter on teh right and a backup on the left at the very least.

Middle Linebacker: Both of our middle backers are under contract and look pretty good.

Cornerback, Doug Bronson and Aaron Mosling are a pair of great corners. Mervin Bates is a good Nickel option. Ike Charlton is out of contract but Marvin has matured enough to replace him. We'll need two more corners for depth and spread defenses.

Safeties: Safety is our deepest area, with our backups being our best backups on the team. Strong Safety backup William Kinney performed amazingly well in relief of Carl Sanders last year and is holding out despite being under contract for two more years. Recommendation: Trade William Kinney and find a new backup at strong safety.

Kickers: Dexter Krause remains amazing while Blake is getting better. Both are under contract for two more years.

Why don't we have a Bill(4), or Mike(4) as a head coach? Why do we have the only Marc in the league?

Oh yeah, have to mention. . .

Draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round!

Abe Sargent 11-04-2003 08:36 PM

We re-sign the following players:

FB James Hodgins, 1 years, 870k, with a 100k bonus

QB Marc Bulger, 3 years, 16.9 million with a bonus of 2.67 mill

RG Leon Searcy, 1 year, 2.33 mill with a bonus of 610k

tucker342 11-04-2003 10:13 PM

I suggest you run the ball about 90% of the time;)

damnMikeBrown 11-04-2003 10:19 PM

OH COME ON!!!

The guy threw 33 picks and you sign him for $5.6M per year!!???

What is this? There something we don't know about between Bulger and ownership? I mean. . . COME ON!!!

Re: Changes

I agree, I haven't felt like we've gone past the hump yet.

Do you truly feel that these changes are necessary, however?

Although I see your points, I also want to point out that our current strategies have suceeded as well. Although we haven't gone to that last level yet, the potential is there.

I'd also rather not luck myself to the Super Bowl. Not like anybody talks about the Super Bowl bound Chargers during Bobby Ross's tenure or the Giants under Jim Fassel anymore.

Additionally, we are being mentioned with the best teams in the league, an early early Super Bowl pick for those in the know.

Anyways, those are just my points. Let me know what you think.

As Always,

sweet, it lives.

Abe Sargent 11-25-2003 10:33 PM

Yeah, it's on FOF2k4 suspension while I play the new football game a bunch, but it lives and I will continue to update it after the new game loses some of its newness.

Any desire to revive the dynasty

tucker342 12-18-2003 10:28 PM

Wow, you must really like the new game!:D

Abe Sargent 12-19-2003 01:59 AM

Yeah, I'm in an FOF2k4 mood and I've also gotten a GameCube and some games. This dynasty is still going. I told a few peops that if it gets nominated for the Golden Scribes then I'll actively keep it up for as long as the voting period lasts :)

-Anxiety

Abe Sargent 01-03-2004 02:30 AM

Since this dynasty in one of the finalists for the Golden Scribes Award, I I revitalizing this dynasty. In the next day or two you can expect to see active updates for the next while. I do not know how long it will last, but I expect at least another couple of seasons.
