They funny thing is that no one west of the Mississippi thinks Ohio is in the Midwest. We may let you go by the Industrial Midwest, but most of us refer to Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin as the Great Lakes region. Minnesota can go either way.

(I mean it was the Mid-West after the Revolution and anything acquired after that is West ;))

I second this, my brother lives in Houghton and I have made 2 summer "journeys" there where we went out hiking, camping and fishing and I just got away from the rigors of life.
