I did not realize that TWD announced the delay of the season finale "until later this year" five days ago. So next week is the last episode of the current "season" with the actual finale of the season airing at a date TBD.

Good episode tonight. Enjoyed all except for the Carol scenes. Alpha & Beta were great. Daryl & Negan becoming best buds was also great. And looking for the next arc with mullet boy and worthless Ezekiel (why don't they kill him off already).
|
Finally got to watch this week's episode and it really paid off for the season so far. Very, very good. Top notch cast and story. Plenty of reveals. Great cinematography. Just fantastic all around. Makes me excited for the final episodes. So many times we get to the final episode and we're still waiting for the big hits, but they delivered in this one with two to go.
|
Last night was a blah episode. Dragged on some and only a couple good scenes
Negan & Lydia. Daryl & Judith. |
Thought this might be of interest to Walking Dead fans. Humble Bundle has a Walking Dead Comics Bundle right now where you get the full 32 issues plus a couple extras they did for $18. I may be incorrect about that price so check it out for yourself if interested.

The price is confirmed. I pulled the trigger and bought the full bundle. Downloading right now. |

Walking Dead Ends After Next Season; Norman Reedus Spinoff Set For 2023 – Deadline
10 eps in 2021, then 14 more in 2022. |
Literally the moment that Jon has been waiting like 5 years for.

No doubt the early seasons were the best. There was a mid-life slump with all those mindless Saviors shootout and the garbage dump gang episodes. Past couple seasons have been decent. I'm good with TWD going away. I have hopes for the spin-offs but they seem more of the same formula, banding together fighting survive. AMC is missing the mark here, they should read more of the zombie genre and consider other imaginative overarching plots. |
For me, the 2010ish period on AMC was my sweet spot, with Breaking Bad, Mad Men and the Walking Dead. It doesn't get any better than that. I started losing interest in the Walking Dead about four years ago, but for those first few seasons it was an awesome series.
|
I agree that the first seasons were better. The rest is just stretching the plot. Although, I'm still waiting for the next episode to come out. Now, by the way, I'm passing time with "Nation Z". Good enough serial too
|
Caught TWD rerun last night. It was eh but very glad the Alpha/Beta arc is over. The Beta thing wasn't near as epic as I would have liked but whatever. The solution to the horde was stupid also. Good to see the return of a character though.
Also, caught the new spin off on Sunday. I'll reserve judgement until a couple more episodes but not a promising pilot IMO. |
I wasn't impressed with the finale. After building up Beta for so long, it felt like they just got bored and dumped him out the window on the way to something else.
I haven't watched the new spinoff yet, but it comes across as the OC in the apocalypse. |

It's about 4 teenage kids, no experience in killing zeds, leaving a secure compound to go travel 1,000+ miles to find a dad. Like totally believable BS. |
Just learned that Gamma is the little girl Dani from Hocus Pocus. Mind blown.
|
dola- we left off at everyones head being on spikes. How far behind are we?

Hopefully they're better survivalists than my son is. He would probably walk about an hour, get hungry, try to call Uber Eats, and then lay down and die. |
Quote:
I believe that happened near the end of Season 9. So you'd have to finish that season, and watch Season 10. That storyline ended at the end of Season 10. Now they are moving onto the Next Big Thing. |
Quote:
Couple encounters with the zeds where they "smart/luckied" themselves out of it vs actually killing any zeds. Two adults are out looking for them and there is some character development there. Also assume each of the kids will get more backstory. Eventually they'll meet up and all 6 will travel the 1,000+ miles. I did like the treehouse scene, the bowling ball is ridiculous. Fear of the Walking Dead came on before. Didn't watch last season so not up to date. Morgan seems to be the main protagonist now and there is something special (literally) going on with him & zeds. The current main antagonist is IMO stupid (not near up to Alpha's standard). But last night's premiere with the introduction of Morgan "special" and the bounty hunter was middling good. |
Really enjoying these deeper character limited stories from the expanded add on episodes. Last week with Darryl was the episode we deserved for years, and this weeks was just heart wrenching and deep on the moral scale. There's been some great storytelling in here.
|
That's funny, I thought the last two episodes were complete filler episodes. I'm looking forward to the Negan one as it's based on a popular comic book story, but I fear that all of these stories are just treading water.
|
Quote:
Well, technically they are. Covid limited filming opportunities, and so they came up with a way to make new episodes that didn't involve all the characters so they could split everyone off. So you won't really see anything that actually moves any story lines along for quite a while. In the meantime we get these backstory, moral, character driven arcs that last an episode, but I still feel like they are pretty well done. |
Caught up on TWD this past Sunday.
Enjoyed Daryl & Carol. That mystery woman has to reappear sometime. Enjoyed Aaron & Gabriel also. The Russian Roulette game was intense. The very last part up in the attic (?) was pretty stupid. Princess was awful. I turned it off midway (a first for TWD), bored to tears and angry at a waste of an episode. This is the worst episode ever, even worse than the mindless shoot-em-up with Negan/Saviors. |
Hi. I've decided to get acquainted with this show.
How many seasons would you recommend to watch? want to know what they do during siesta? fuck! see for yourself on the spanish porno tube https://pornogratisaqu.com/ |
Maybe ask Coconut, its pretty good ...
|
The princess episode almost killed me.
I'm thinking that all these COVID filler episodes back to back are not going to help with ratings at all. If they didn't have any actual story to tell, maybe they shouldn't have filmed anything. |
Quote:
Glad you agree. Quote:
I enjoyed the first 2. Filler episodes is understandable in this current day and age and hey, there is a lack of new content, so willing to lower my standards some. But man, that Princess episode was just.plain.bad. |
I don’t mind these episodes. The Walking Dead has never really been too much about the plot for me. I’ve never really understood why people want it rushed. It’s more about the characters and the world. So long as something interesting happens character-wise and there is something interesting presented about the world, I’m fine with it.
It’s been up down for me this season. I really liked the first episode with Carol, Darryl and Maggie. I didn’t like the Darryl and his girlfriend episode. I didn’t know why I should care about any of it. I liked the Aaron and Gabriel episode. I do didn’t like the Princess one mainly because the “twist” was obvious from the beginning. |
This week on The Walking Dead...
Carol makes soup Dog hears a mouse Darryl fixes his bike |
Yeah, pretty weak episode.
Did anyone try her soup? |
You forgot some zombies got killed. Not many, just enough. They weren't really ever a threat. They were just there.
|
Thinking positive for tonight's Fear of the Walking Dead.
|
Hey, at least the last episode of the season was great! No surprise that they were working off some Kirkman material here.
|
Quote:
AGREED! It was a great episode. JDM was such an incredible get for the show. He just elevates it to another level. This story truly adds to the entire series. |
dola
and I have to add, if you liked that episode for what it was, you have to watch the Talking Dead episode that goes along with it. Lucille is played by his real life wife, and they are both on the episode. Lots of Negan discussion and married couple humor. |
Quote:
I haven't watched Talking Dead during these bonus episodes, but I'll track this one down for sure. Thanks for the heads up! I like how Negan actually came from something. He wasn't exactly a nice guy. He cheated on his wife. He was very selfish (bought the leather jacket even though he lost his job). But still also being a normal person. That seed is there in him all along. In 90% of situations it would've just been that, but he ended up with that 10% scenario and combined with his personality? Negan. I also like the origin story of the Saviors, one of the people in the caravan that he came back to rescue was one of the Saviors. Totally unspoken in the episode, but it points that the Saviors group started immediately after those moments. |
I am looking forward to the Negan episode after the snoozefest that was Princess (Yes, we are behind)
|
Quote:
If you liked that nugget, you'll LOVE the Talking Dead that goes with it. |

I really hope you didn't read my post ! Yikes... #spoilers |
LOL, no, I stopped quickly when i saw where it was going, plus I'm old, I'll have forgotten by the time I watch later anyway :D
|
Been watching "Fear".
Not that great but enough to satisfy my zombie fanboy. They closed a major arc this past Sun. Next week's episode looks pretty good. |
Quote:
Finally caught up. This episode was very weak. Quote:
Agreed, the final episode was fantastic. Really enjoyed the backstory for Negan. |
I stopped watching Fear right around the time that group of kids and Dwight showed up and the episode with that fake old western town. I heard it got much better shortly after that.
|
What did everybody think of the first episode?
Did anybody find that Negan had a complete rewrite of his personality? He seemed like a completely different character than the Negan of last season. They also gave Yumiko the Michonne storyline, which is extremely strange because it was a big part in the comics, and no one cares about Yumiko in the TV series. I did like the questioning scene though, it was pretty funny. |
The first episode was Mediocre episode at best.
Like the army base thing, no one died and their gains were short lived. Not much new learned about the Commonwealth. Characters required to be emotional and/or irrational and thus make stupid decisions, like entering a dark tunnel during heavy rain during a zombie apocalypse, and Maggie being Maggie. She's been rather stupid for some time. When you sympathize more with the guy who bashed her husband's head in,....I mean...really. What was the last smart thing Maggie did? Hang what's his name? Ezekial, just try and piss off the commonwealth head of security. That's a good idea. |
Maggie throws me off. TBH not sure I like her character anymore. Gone for so long and now trying to reinsert her in and make her relevant. Unsure about Negan also but it may be the Maggie interactions throwing him off.
I'm liking the Daryl + Leah combo. I hope it turns out well for them. Wonder how it all ends. There are supposedly 24 episodes in this last season, we've done 4 so far. |
In this latest episode, they encounter a group of people that can't walk upright at all, and are trying desperately to be horror movie villains. Were they all forced to survive in a crawlspace for a few years, and therefore they are now forced to use all 4 limbs to walk?
I feel like the season has absolutely no direction. There are just random groups of people doing random things. I guess it breaks down into Commonwealth, the Reapers and saving Alexandria? I personally think a culling is overdue, there are characters who haven't had their own storylines in more than one season, so those people shouldn't be occupying TV time at that point. |
This weekend's episode was the creepiest episode I can remember.
|
Quote:
Yes, one of the better episodes in recent years. |
So I guess it's over. The zombie fad of the 2010's is really over, it was fun at its peak. I'll have to binge watch the last season when it's available.
The Walking Dead series finale burning questions answered | EW.com Quote:
|
Huh. I guess instead of movies, they're going to do a limited series with Rick and Michonne.
|
Don't have AMC but don't think I'd be tempted anyway. Those are 2 old, tired characters.
More zombie stuff for sure but not old re-treads. How about exploring TWD world in Europe, Asia, Africa etc. with new characters, scenery & moral dilemmas. Quote:

We stopped watching at some point so decided to binge watch to catch up. Carl just died and, damn, that part sucked even though I knew it was gonna happen
|
Quote:
The comics were about Rick trying to make a better world for his son (and other kids) to inherit. After the TV show wrote off both characters, it definitely went into a tailspin. Feel free to quit watching after that heart breaking moment! |
We basically stopped watching when Rick gets taken away in a helicopter.
|
That's where we stopped too. Maybe a few episodes past it.
|
Daryl Dixon s1 is on Netflix. s2 coming up in Sept. Binged watched it today.
Stupid about the mad scientist and the fast zombies but I enjoyed Paris/France, liked the non-US cast, Daryl being Daryl (but like Rick, couldn’t he find some shampoo & body wash, get a shave, and cut/comb his hair?) etc I don’t quite get how there seems to be much less zombies walking around the Seine though. Have to google on any fan theories. Laurent is an annoying kid but I like the premise, and them leaving it ambiguous. I hope s2 continues that arc. A little concerned about the ending, maybe a major distraction and unnecessarily forced (?). Bottom line. Solid series, could have been worse. Looking forward to s2 |
We're watching the one with Negan and Maggie. It's OK. The Daryl one is on our list.
|
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
What a load of crap. I gave up after 1.5 episodes. IMO really poor writing and can’t believe Rick & Michonne would sully their legacy like this (did they need the money that badly?). Yuck |
