Bucc -- you mean you never thought you'd see thirty again after all these years, right?
:D |

thats great |
Where's MikeVic? Think Baltimore has a shot in this one?
|
Maybe they can cue the guy who wrote Bill Pullman's "Independence Day" presidential speech to give Tremblay something to say before he sends his team back out there.
|
Obviously the team was not as pleased as expected by this news.
BALTIMORE -- Dave Trembley will return next season as manager of the Baltimore Orioles after leading the team to a winning record over the last two months. Trembley replaced Sam Perlozzo on June 18, then was given the job through the rest of the season on July 31. The Orioles announced Wednesday that his contract has been extended through the 2008 season, with a club option for 2009. "I'm extraordinarily confident that Dave is a good fit for this city, this franchise and these baseball fans," Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail said. |
Nice way to celebrate Tremblay's contract extension!:D
|
Has Brian Billick ever lost 30-3?
|
Wes Littleton got the save. LOL
|

That was my first thought. :D /tk |

Impressive eh? I gotta believe the game was safe at 21-3 going into the 9th, but with the Rangers bullpen.... More impressive - Bal only used 4 pitchers. That's gotta be great for the ERA's. :D |
Orioles manager to his pitching staff, "Ok, who wants to pitch"?
O's pitchers all run and hide. |
Quote:
I'm impressed by Tremblay. Even in a DH, it takes a lot of discipline to only use 4 pitchers when your guys are getting tattooed like that. |
They need David Beckham to hit a 27 run homer
|
What was to over/under on the Tex and O's game?
Was Ryan Leaf pitching? Was Brian Bosworth playing any defense? |
Quote:
it was 9 I took the over, i swear. |
Quote:
Haha, very funny. |
Also impressive in that it all happened in 4 innings.
Also, anyone want to predict the score in game 2? I'm going to guess 5-2 SI |
Quote:
I thought you were joking. He actually did get a save. I don't have words. The most useless stat in the history of stats. |
My God
Carlos Delgado is a rally killer |

The second game needs to get canceled, seriously. If game two starts to be a blowout, you're going to see dudes start getting drilled, especially after, yeah, 16 runs in the last two innings. Is that proper? I won't get into that. Athlete codes of honor are weird things. But I seriously think there are going to be some hitters eating dirt and some catchers getting drilled by baserunners if the score is remotely that bad in the second game. |

For Baltimore. |

I'm sure trying to steal a base would be frowned upon, but it's an game based on individual performance, guys aren't going to strike out on purpose to make the other team feel better. |

I feel like it almost gets to a point where you can no longer be embarrassed by a complete beatdown like that. |
HOLY SHIT... 30-3?!!
|
I thought this was funny

Awesome stat.

Prince Fielder with the RBI single to end Webb's streak.

Delgado has a chance to redeem himself.
2 outs in the ninth and he is up as the tying run against hoffman |
Struck out on 3 straight pitches.
|
I wouldn't have slept well tonight if Trevor blew another one. Nice strikeout on pitches that fell off the end of the table.
|
Can Delgado at least take a pitch there?
Al least try and go the other way with 2 strikes. |
There must be something about the Rangers and O's. I was at a game back in '97, where the Rangers beat them 26-7, scoring 16 runs in the bottom of the 8th. It got so bad, they brought in Ripken's backup to pitch.

Quote:
He'll get over it. |
I can't believe how the Cardinals are coming from behind game after game.
|
Quote:
Stop that, kthx SI |
Guess I was a bit off on guessing the score of game 2. Was a high scoring affair, too.
SI |
David Wells to the Dodgers? Coletti must be sizing his finger for that WS ring...*sigh*

For all of our struggles, the 2007 has brought a lot of nice new players into fruition for the old Redlegs this year and I look forward to a full season with these guys next season:
RP Bill Bray, 24 RP Jard Burton, 27 (30 IP, 2.73 era) SP Bobby Livingston IF Jorge Cantu, 25 - great acquistion here, win-win IF Jeff Keppinger, 27 - .381 in 118 ABs, OPS over 1.000, leads MLB in batting in August OF Norris Hopper, 28, - .319, 2nd to Keppinger in MLB batting average for August and of course, OF Josh Hamilton, 26 - .283 16 hr 1/2 season Basically the idea of our infield in 2008 looking like Kep, Cantu, Encarnacion, and Phillips is great: they are all young and talented. Phillips or Kep at SS? Does Phillips stay at 2B? Then if we get rid of Dunn we've got Hamilton/Hopper/Griff, with Freel backing up the OF-INF. Also Votto and Bruce will probably see time next year. I'm very excited for 8 months from now. |
Let's Make A Deal: Take your pick
Door number 1: Josh Hamilton, Brandon Phillips, Jeff Keppinger, Bobby Livingston Jared Burton Door number 2: Jeff Stevens, Russ Haltiwanger $150,000 **** Wayne Krivsky traded Stevens for Phillips, Haltiwanger for Keppinger, claimed Livington off waivers, claimed Burton in Rule 5 ($50,000), and got Hamilton in the Rule 5 claim/Trade ($100,00) ******** |
Ping: Mets fans
Think your closer might be arsed to hold a lead once in a while? |
Quote:
so frustrating considering they scored 6 in the sixth to take the lead. Reyes just singled so lets see what happens |
2 on now for Wright
|
Nice
double steal and a sac fly from Wright to tie it up |
Quote:
You mean like the first 2 and a half months of the season? Or the 2 months after that? It is So. Fun. watching these guys run the bases. |
and of course Beltran get walked and Delgado comes up
|
This has been a great series to watch.
|
Trevor shouldn't ever be allowed to pitch in New York. :(
