Penn State wins the NIT. Michigan State wins the NCAA. GO BIG TEN!

As a graduate of Iowa, I can say I really dislike Indiana in basketball. Of course it is a toss up between Michigan and Ohio St. in football.

By the way, did you see Iowa won back to back national championships in wrestling.

That's it? I thought they had like 20 in a row? ;)

The 2009 College Basketball Hall of Fame class was announced. Couple of Spartans in this year's class. Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Judd Heathcote, Gene Bartow, and Wayman Tisdale are the headliners. Induction date is November 22nd. It also likely means that Michigan State will be playing in the pre-season tourney here in KC next year. OU is also possible.

And after Penn State's NIT win they got a verbal commitment from a Top 100 player who happens to be Talor Battle's half brother.

He just can't wait to play in the NIT for years to come!

Exactly just like Ohio State football recruits sign up to get embarrassed when they in BCS games. :)

Big 11 catfight!

Kodos 04-03-2009 09:09 AM

Oh yeah?! Well Indiana finished 11th in the Big Ten in both football and basketball this year. WE WIN!!

whomario 04-04-2009 05:33 PM

I love MMOD, best idea ever :)

UConn enforcing their gameplan, Michigan State has to find a way to get UConns shotblocking figured out, they canīt get anything clear right now.
Suton needs to start shooting some of those open ones he gets ...
MSU already in the bonus, too.

Karlifornia 04-04-2009 06:07 PM

If MSU wins the title, I will never write them off again.

Not that Izzo's career needs validation but if they win this one, he might move from "one of the best of his generation" to "the best of his generation."

MizzouRah 04-04-2009 06:11 PM

I'm rooting for MSU.. good game so far.

Schmidty 04-04-2009 06:29 PM

Come on Spartans!! Start the second half on fire!!!

I think he is already the best. The man can coach and delivers a solid team year in and year out.

As an ACC fan I don't want to see Michigan State against UNC.

INDalltheway 04-04-2009 07:05 PM

Michigan State runs so many players at you it's hard to keep up.. They have 4 big guys that they rotate so well. I feel North Carolina does the same thing in the times I've watched them. Also, whoever the black assistant coach for Michigan State is should be getting some attention for a head coaching job. It really seems like he is the one that is organizing all of the offensive sets on the go, and relaying it to Izzo. And out of all the teams Purdue faced this year Michigan State runs the best sets easily. They get so many good shots it's ridiculous, then the crash the boards about as good as you can.

INDalltheway 04-04-2009 07:07 PM

Did Summers seriously just do that?

whomario 04-04-2009 07:07 PM

wow , summers

Noop 04-04-2009 07:09 PM

I love the way Michigan State runs their offense. That is classic basketball and the way they play defense as well.

hah that is true. i'm just rooting against uconn at this point, I like MSU better.

Karlifornia 04-04-2009 07:13 PM

UConn looks finished. Rainmaker just called me and said he thought it was unfair that MSU had a home game.

Nicely done :D

whomario 04-04-2009 07:14 PM

the huskies have no outside shooting at all. Canīt believe they have no one that could come in to hit a couple ? I mean, a program like UConn ought to have more than 7 capable players, right ?

INDalltheway 04-04-2009 07:14 PM

Did UCONN just give up? Kinda seems that way.

Me too(Like MSU have nothing against UCONN) but I want that NCAA title brought home to the ACC.

terpkristin 04-04-2009 07:15 PM

UConn may have given up, but MSU is taking some stupid shots.

panerd 04-04-2009 07:15 PM

CBS if I wanted the "eye vision" I would buy really shitty seats to the game. The past 30 years have found the correct camera angle for filming basketball.

You know Rainmaker personally? Or did you guys meet here and exchange numbers?

I think it was just a dig and the complaints early on about all the teams that get to play close to home in the first two rounds.

Jim Nantz is such a dolt sometimes. "A 24-13 tear in the last 14:00."

Wait.
What?

Schmidty 04-04-2009 07:20 PM

Man, UConn has been HORRIBLE at the line.

Why? I mean, UConn has seemed..off all night, but MSU at the time I typed that was taking shots that just seemed like they wanted to get rid of the ball.

With about 4:30 left and a 9? 10? point lead, MSU took a bad jumper from about 19 feet out, got an offensive board and less than 5 seconds later took a 20 foot jumper. UConn got the rebound, went down and scored. It was a horrible possession for MSU and if UConn had been able to do anything else could have been a big turning point.

I know I'm a Spartan fan, but in the last 5 minutes or so, I can only think of one bad shot - Walton taking a jumpshot at the key after an offensive rebound.

That's the exact one I was talking about in my above post.

But that's the one I can think of.

Yes, this is what I was referring to when I typed that.

larrymcg421 04-04-2009 07:25 PM

MSU doing what they can to let UCONN back in it.

panerd 04-04-2009 07:25 PM

CBS just radioed in to the refs.

Karlifornia 04-04-2009 07:25 PM

Things just got interesting.

Schmidty 04-04-2009 07:26 PM
