This. And. (ooc) I was driving around tonight getting some things done, listening idly to the baseball game and thinking about this game and I feel that I've said some kind of dickish things to Autumn and want to apologize. I like Autumn. He is seriously driving me up a wall but I don't like being a dick (the kind yet direct ms.path would generally agree with this but also say that I indeed appear to enjoy acting like a dick more often than I realize. She is probably right as usual) and I don't like the feeling that I've been mean in a fucking game. So. Sorry. (/ooc) Now back to our regularly scheduled war you bastard brother of mine. |
It's official. Me and my GF are Aegon the Conqueror!
As in history. Oof. I'm going to chalk this one up as a harsh lesson learned, and hope the easiness I am feigning now becomes more real as the days go by, yippee! Seriously, while I see some dark times ahead, I think I'll be okay. Thanks everyone for understanding. We'll get back to the game tomorrow. Deadline is at 10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PDT. |

Just to confirm, this is war on House Baratheon of Storm's End at the land/keep Storm's End, correct? |
BTW, Theon Greyjoy is out on a lark running through the countryside. Chase him down if you wish.
|
Time for Baelish to hook chief up
|

(ooc - I can't speak for Autumn but I haven't read anything but in-game conflict into any of the exchanges that have gone here - apart from the brief fonting outbreak. I don't think anyone is seriously upset with anyone - we're all adults - and a bit of conflict makes things interesting). |
Karstark - Theon (1)
Asha Greyjoy - Stannis, Florent, Seaworthy (4) Axell Florent - Balon, Asha, Stark, Karstark, Tywin (7) No vote - Baelish Yet to vote: Renly (2), Brienne (1), Penrose (1), Joffrey (2), Tyrion (1/2), Selmy (1/2), Cersei (1/2), Varys (1/2). (8 votes) Presuming Storm's End votes for Florent then there's more than an absolute majority on him (10 1/2 votes). Look at me I've become all Varysy. |
Lord Stannis I am afraid it would seem that you waited too long before forging an alliance against the Starks. As you pointed out there is no single house that can stand against the northmen on the field of battle now. I would imagine it would require an alliance of most of the other houses to counter his power. Robb Stark's policy of being a friend to all people pays off handsomely. Perhaps he does have a good reason for voting one of your bannermen today. But your alliance was always going to be a temporary affair. And Stark was the one who blinked first.

vote axel
Willing to change my vote for money. |
I might note - Renly & company did vote.
|
I wonder if we can talk Chief into a fresh batch of ravens today.
|
Quote:
[ooc] I was thinking this myself - I think it'd make sense. [/ooc] |
Now is the time to embrace freedom.
|
Just so I am clear, we are still on the same day we were yesterday?
So if I sent a PM yesterday then it is burnt until tonight's deadline? |
Quote:
Yes, we are attacking the keep of Storm's End. |
Quote:
[ooc] see above - i think maybe if we reach consensus among the different factions we could reset the PM clock? otherwise today is going to be quiet. self-servingly it also bums me out because i rushed to get 2 ravens out right before deadline when chief came on to tell us about his RL-stuff last night [/ooc] |

I haven't taken any offense from anything you said, Path. Everything I write is just roleplay, it's not getting under my skin, so if I'm coming across as a dick, people should let me know. Because then I'll know I'm playing Stannis well. *rimshot* |
Quote:
That is my understanding. |
Quote:
Yes, the Starks have been happy to stand at my side, and I applaud them for that. But meanwhile they have been happy for my reputation to take the hit as I am blamed for every vote and war that they have assisted me in. Whether it makes sense for the houses to join Stark in voting out one of my men, while the Starks take Summerhall, Casterly Rock and house no enemies of the realm, well that is up to the others to decide, I suppose. I wonder who they should worry more about though, the king who has lost land or the one who is swallowing it up. |
Quote:
I think you are playing Stannis extremely well. :banghead: Glad to hear it, I put it out there just in case and felt much better afterwards. |
Quote:
Yet you attack one that has lost land and want the one who you say is swallowing it up to help. Interesting choice. |
Quote:
I've been nothing but up front with you from the start. If I was going to betray you, I would not have shown my hand in an ultimately meaningless vote - I would have saved it for a key battle. |
Quote:
(In which case I should get two ravens as I figured the way the land was lying yesterday and hung onto mine. ;) If we have two days because Chief is getting bogged under then I'm not sure its going to help having another barrage of Pms.) |
Quote:
You did not lose it, you gave it away. A poor precedent, it seems. |
Quote:
Let's call it a trade and go home. |
Quote:
*shrug* End result is the same, no? BTW, I would have negotiated with you for the land I'm in right now if you had tried. It wasn't doing either of us any good as it was. |
Sure... why not?
ONE NEW FREE PM FOR EVERYONE! (And Kings, go ahead and bug Varys again if you like) |
[ooc] Varys is open for business! [/ooc]
|
KING RENLY AND STORM'S END...
You have to the deadline tonight to decide whether to fight the war out at Storm's End, or delay the war another day and to another land. |
Quote:
I am delaying and will PM you with the land by deadline. |
Come now, let's not dither, brother.
|
Quote:
I am greatly surprised by this. I would have thought Renly would take his chances defending immediately with his army against Stannis' fleet before Stark can join in. I wonder, idly, what this could mean. Nervous times for Stannis I would imagine. |
So, Renly forgoes a day's worth of production from Storm's End, at the very least. Bit different, I guess.
|
Quote:
Indeed. embrace it while you can. Methinks you don't have the manpower to see off any potential hunter. |
Quote:
The Iron Fleet provides the Ironborn with a certain degree of security, although you are right of course that they lack the manpower to match up with the other claimants on land. Their likeliest route to victory lies in an alliance. |
Yes, their route is as you say. Theon's route to success is to run fast and hide well. Unless he finds that he wants to be caught by whoever is chasing him.
|
I just keep on fishing.
|
Quote:
Perhaps there will be work for you one day soon Ser Barristan. |
I don't have the manpower, but I have the plan power.
|
Ah the insolent arrogance of youth. Where have your plans got you so far Theon? Out of the frying pan into the fire. And then onwards to the oven. But I do like you. You have fire.
|
I'm not quite sure how the extended day works in terms of emissary work from yesterday, but I'm going to assume that I can return to the House Stark thread by 5PM EST today if I'm cutting off any further communication with my target effective immediately.
|
You can pretty much return whenever you decide to - just can't go OUT again.
|
Robb, your explanation didn't exactly warm my heart. I hope that the Greyjoys and anyone else who thinks they might have a friend in the Starks sees exactly how far his friendship holds.
|
Quote:
Yes you may. Of course, you can just return whenever you like as well. |
Armed soldiers sally forth from multiple camps, as Theon Greyjoy, now on his own, has fled into the Northern wilderness around Seagard and The Twins.
Once again, Lord Karstark is on the hunt, and so is Ser Davos of Dragonstone. Davos lands his men on the eastern show and sallies forth into the Neck, searching the murky bogs for the whereabouts of the once Stark and once Greyjoy bannerman. Theon proves a deft at evading excape as he and his small contingent of men skirt the cliffs of the west coast of the Neck. He leads them all ona merry chase. Alas, Theon and his Ironborn soldiers are not as familiar with the crags and crevices of this stretch coastland, not like the Northerners among Lord Karstark's men. He soon has Theon cornered. Seeing nowhere to go, Theon quickly lays down his arms and gives himself up to Karstark. Karstark has proven to quite adept at capturing it seems! Ser Davos arrives on the scene soon after, but it is too late. The turncoat Greyjoy is in Stark hands. Theon Greyjoy is in House Stark custody! A decision on his fate must be made by the deadline Day Eight |
Some various emissaries passing through and across the great land of Westeros.
I'll just list them. A Storm's End emissary travelled to the sea fortress of Pyke to visit with King Balon Greyjoy. A Stark banner has been seen above King's Landing of late. A Greyjoy banner was seen on a ship sailing into the harbor outside of Dragonstone. |
DEADLINE WILL RUN TONIGHT
However, I am scheduled to work at the second job. So the deadline remains at 10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PDT, and results will be posted later in the evening. |
Assuming Robb is too ambitious to have his own rebellious man killed, it seems clear that the realm needs to turn their votes towards the lord with more bannermen and more land than anyone else.
UNVOTE ASHA GREYJOY CLAPHAMSA UNVOTES ASHA GREYJOY INBLUE UNVOTES ASHA GREYJOY |
Disappointing.
|
Well, if it isn't lord Karstark. Take me to my brother so he can clear my honor and we can end this realms problem with not having a proper king.
