I can only release 2 humans a day so, trades are the only way to facilitate everyone getting on new teams ASAP.

damn, i missed out on 2 more FOFCers- yall need to post the great players hitting the market while i'm online! not during saints games.

Anywho, anyone else out there- my team is still looking to upgrade some positions anyone level 20+ would be a starter, an really be one of the best players on the team.

Alan T 08-19-2008 10:07 AM

Larry,

Looks like my contract ran out or something? (I thought I was signed until week 19).. anyways, I never got a contract renewal from you if you want to toss me one.

That's weird. I thought I offered everyone that was expiring shortly. I went ahead and sent you an offer.

I really didn't think I was expiring shortly either. I am pretty sure I was good until later in the season or I would have said something.. Thanks!

Eaglesfan27 08-19-2008 01:08 PM

I lost track of this over the weekend and my contract expired. I just accepted the new contract offer from the Silverbacks.

Mustang 08-19-2008 02:23 PM

The Warlocks have lost their last 5 games by a combined score of 947-0

larrymcg421 08-19-2008 02:27 PM

The Silverbacks are having an awful year. We used to have a terrific running game and a terrific run defense. Now we suck at both. This will be our first year out of the playoffs.

I hope it wasn't my arrival in the offseason that disrupted the clubhouse atmosphere... :(

It wasn't, but that's what I'll tell the media.

Mustang 08-19-2008 08:22 PM

:)

Actually, I was going to sell back the team and either cut or traded everyone. The team consists of all CPU guys right now other then a few stragglers of Arles.

I haven't sold it back yet just because of the car wreck factor.

Arles 08-19-2008 11:10 PM

Yeah, I added some of my guys in the D-League to get more XP. Of course, the QB has been seriously beat down and may never recover ;)

Just for balance, the only non-cpu guys are my level 7-9 ones. Given they are facing deep teams in the 24-29 range, it's not surprising to see massive blowouts.

QuikSand 08-20-2008 04:53 AM

It sure seems like this sort of "drift" was pretty inevitable.

If you're a guy who has poured hundreds of dollars of cash into this thing (like it seems some definitely have) are you feeling rewarded when your team full of ca$h players goes out and crushes somebody else's team 187-0? Do you think that's fulfilling?

I guess the way for this to sort itself out is just for those remaining hands-on teams to eventually coalesce into fewer and fewer teams by way of promotion and relegation -- but it sure sounds like a boring transition to me.

Yeah it is rewarding and fun. For the record quite a few teams are good by solely recruiting other players.

Its a time vs money thing for me. I have money but not alot of time. So, I bought and built alot of players so my team could be successful. I enjoy the game, but I don't have all the time in the world to recruit a ton of players. I have some players from other coaches, but my team is made of mostly my players and a few other people.

The gameplanning engine is getting better as well. I like owning a team, because I have complete controll of the gameplan. Since, I own alot of the players I have complete control of their tactics and builds.

I could see where others think its a waste of money or not rewarding, but I like it.

Arles 08-20-2008 08:24 PM

I'm on the same page as Astros, except the opposite. I enjoy the recruiting aspect. I have a very deep team of 50 players (all active, nearly all boost) - only 8 are my guys and 2 of those are just depth/special teams guys. 10-12 are FOFC guys and around 30 are guys I recruited to come play.

So, it costs me around $40 a season (cheaper if you buy points in bulk) to boost all my players on that team and field a team that has lost one regular season game in two full seasons. We have a very competitive conference with 8-10 teams capable of making a run in the playoffs and 5-6 very difficult games. Given the enjoyment I've had in finding wrinkles in the AI and building the team/stadium/players - I'd say it's worth that expense.

Bad-example 08-25-2008 04:53 PM

Larry,

Today is, I believe, the deadline for cutting and trading players. I recommend you check your GLB mailbox. Might be I have some defensive help for the Silverbacks...

That post is kind of out of line.

If you roll out a highschool team vs the patriots, I would imagine there would be scores just like that.

This game has pretty decent numbers and stats when the teams are of the caliber of skill. Its only when you have lopsided teams where you see scores of 150 to 0 etc...

Like, I said. Take the local highschool team and match them against a pro team and see what happens.

Actually, let me take that one step further. If you take Bowl Bound or FOF and you had players with all 1,2,3 etc... and played against players that were all pros and you didn't see results like that then I would say bowl bound or FOF had some major "fixing" going on in their engine.

FOF has a score dampening mechanism to keep stuff like that from happening.

samifan24 09-01-2008 08:59 AM

I have two level 9 players, a CB and a LB, looking for a team.

DanGarion 09-01-2008 11:03 AM

What the hell I just realized my fricken team put me on the bench. I've been with them since day one. Level 24 kicker. Sorry I didn't spend money to power up my player, but I've done everything you guys want, damn Victoria Admirals.

*shakes fist*

You had been inactive for a bit, I have no problem placing you back into the starting spot.

dervack 09-01-2008 11:55 AM

Michael Dervack is a level 20 HB who is going to be a FA shortly. I declined a contract offer from my current team after a game in which the backups were supposed to start and yet my HB barely played, but the owners HB and starter played the entire game. So, yeah, if anyone needs an ok RB, I should be available shortly.

JPhillips 09-01-2008 11:57 AM

Dan: Did you check to see if you got the big flex point gift? I was able to upgrade without paying thanks to the Dong Energy debacle.

samifan24 09-03-2008 10:12 AM

*bump* I'm still looking for a home for my two level 9 players (CB and LB). Apparently my guys can't sign with CPU teams if they're over level 7. I'll accept any offer.

Yeah I leveled him up and I bought him a nice little gift. Plus I still have enough to level him up again next season!

Awesome, well as I said, you are now back into the starter role, the backup kicker is dapasta's guy.

The Toledo Swords, owned by Icy, is a Western Europe Pro team that made the playoffs this past season.

We are in need of a number of positions, uncluding TE, RB, DT, DE and S.

We are looking for active players that are willing to boost.

Please send Icy a pm if you have interest.

Made a SS. Will send Icy a PM.

Icy 09-06-2008 05:43 PM

Subby forgot to include in his post that our team has been a playoffs contender in the pro league this year, so we need players of level 20+ that boost every season.

TazFTW 09-06-2008 06:05 PM

Grand Junction could use a WR. We currently have 4 on the roster but one is inactive and their contract will run out today/tomorrow.

Havoc99 09-08-2008 10:07 PM

I am the owner of the Santiago Benitos in SA Pro and we have openings for a FS, C and DE for next season. The players would need to be at a pretty high level, have custom and be willing to boost each season.

In return you'd be joining a very successful franchise and we run a short roster in order to get max XP on everyone.

Matthean 09-09-2008 06:06 PM

Anybody need a level 13 C? I actually try to build a balanced guy instead of all of the people who purely pump strength. Yeah, I know it's important, but I think having 3 in Line General has helped a team that started 1-3 go 10-2 since then with a 8 game win streak and in the title game. We actually beat the two higher rated teams and now seem to be favored to win it.

Got a level 10 G (http://goallineblitz.com/game/player...ayer_id=728067), level 10 T (http://goallineblitz.com/game/player...ayer_id=728071) and level 16 DE (http://goallineblitz.com/game/player...ayer_id=502413), if any team needs 'em.

Level 23 Strong Safety. I'll sign with a FOF team for short $$$.

I have a level 22 linebacker, who has never started. He puts up pretty decent numbers considering. Anyway, the team he was playing for folded, and is now a free agent.

If anyone here has room for him, I'll gladly play for a low-fair salary
