Yang Sec of Treasury?

Susan Rice can't get confirmed. Benghazi, ya know.

That's an interesting one I hadn't thought of (and seems really a really obvious possibility when you say it)

I saw somewhere that they may try to coax Pat Toomey out of the senate (he’s already announced he isn’t running again) with commerce or treasury. They are going to have to get people through the senate, so I’m guessing Rice is probably going to be in a position that doesn’t require confirmation.

cuervo72 11-07-2020 01:36 PM

I'd like to se Sec. of State Obama.

NobodyHere 11-07-2020 01:39 PM

Biden should put Hillary as AG and let her go after Trump

Thomkal 11-07-2020 01:44 PM

I think we will see a lot of the younger Democrats who lost their elections this time around, get to play some part in a Biden government to strengthen their candidacy for their next elections. Not sure other than Mayor Pete to get a Secretary spot, but a undersecretary sure, or be part of committees on health care, voting rights, racial justice, etc.

Other than saying the Benghazi attacks were from protestors who were upset with an anti-Muslim video on YouTube, I don't see anything wrong with her assessment of the situation.

Doesn't matter the facts, just how it looks and the GOP has gone hard on how Benghazi was this disaster because it was sortof tied to Hillary

I want Vinnick as SOS, for real. Sadly that's not our reality.

Lathum 11-07-2020 01:59 PM

Mayor pete should be chief of staff. Could you imagine the rights heads exploding with a black woman and a gay man in those positions.

ISiddiqui 11-07-2020 02:26 PM

Ron Klain is almost definitely Chief of Staff. Buttigieg doesn't have the experience for that important of a job. Put him in charge of the VA.

I don't think any Dem Senators will be offered a slot as every Senate slot is important.

I heard a good one - Offer Susan Collins Sec of State and let the Dem Maine governor appoint her replacement.

CrimsonFox 11-07-2020 02:40 PM

Just had the frightening thought that he'd make Hillary a cabinet position

Ksyrup 11-07-2020 02:41 PM

CrimsonFox 11-07-2020 02:41 PM

Bernie for education and surgeon general

NobodyHere 11-07-2020 02:43 PM

Meg Whitman? What's the logic for that one?

CrimsonFox 11-07-2020 02:43 PM

Al Franken for Press Secretary anyone? tagteaming with Tom Hartman

Balderdash! The country voted for her to be president.

With Phil Hartman on my mind after my Admiral Stockdale reference, I read this differently. But man that would have been awesome (Al and Phil).

ISiddiqui 11-07-2020 03:09 PM

Well, I'm just going to say that after 4 years, I've had enough of comedians as the WH Press Secretary.

Please no. Her track record of business success is similar to Trump.

Lathum 11-07-2020 03:32 PM

Id like to see a spot for Vindeman. Maybe as an ambassador or something.

ambassadors are what you give to people that are terrible at public speaking and no one cares about

CrimsonFox 11-07-2020 03:35 PM

can we PLEASE have some fucking progressives on the fucking cabinet?

Only happens if we can flip the Senate.

GrantDawg 11-07-2020 04:20 PM

Even then, I am pretty sure it will progressive light. Biden will recognize the help, but the cabinet is not going to be heavy left.

When the public doesn't approve of a public figure, whether it's brainwashing or truth depends on the letter by their name. If R, truth. If D, brainwashing.

Exactly, didn't she just run a billion dollar startup into the ground and isn't she a Republican to boot?

Nah, she's getting her little F*** You Moment as electoral voter, that ought to be enough really. He has so many things to do, i doubt there's any political capital to spare for spite. If there's a lot of baggage (and deserved or not hardly matters), that's only worth it for someone really perfect for a job without any good alternatives.

rjolley 11-07-2020 06:18 PM

Any word on Stacey Abrams having a potential spot in Biden's cabinet? I remember reading she was in line for one after helping to deliver Georgia.

Ksyrup 11-07-2020 06:58 PM

Brian Swartz 11-07-2020 06:59 PM

I think Abrams should get one for sure. She's earned it. HHS?

miami_fan 11-07-2020 07:02 PM

My twelve year old set a alarm that just went off. He wants to hear Biden’s speech. What world have I just entered?

ISiddiqui 11-07-2020 07:04 PM

We are waiting for the speech and like I mentioned earlier... I don't like the lack of social distancing. Masks are good. Outside is good. But everyone is way too close together.

You sir, have done something right if you have a 12-year-old that aware of and interested in the political realm. My compliments.

tarcone 11-07-2020 07:31 PM

My just turned 19 year old (Today), came home from college this past weekend. She works at 6 flags and needs money. She stayed with us until Tuesday, so she could vote. My 20 year old said she voted.

Happy I raised them right.

ISiddiqui 11-07-2020 07:40 PM

Great speech by Kamala. And then Joe runs up the ramp (compare that to how Trump tried to walk down one, lol).

Pushing to Clemson - ND game to USA from NBC is not going to make Joe Biden any more popular in SC or IN.

tarcone 11-07-2020 07:47 PM

Not gonna lie, Dude is talking to me.

ISiddiqui 11-07-2020 07:49 PM

This is a very very good speech by Biden. Arguably the best one he's ever given.

JPhillips 11-07-2020 07:51 PM

Love it, but he's veering towards the mistake Obama made defining his success as overcoming partisanship.
