The Rasmussen poll released this morning had Biden +12.

28 days is a long time, but early voting at this point in time makes me feel better. Early voting is the only reason Amy McGrath won KY. She would have been trounced at the last minute by her Louisville challenger, Charles Booker, in the wake of the Breonna Taylor killing, had it been a day of election decision. |
Quote:
She's a lesson how not to run a campaign in Kentucky. |
The evidence (or lack thereof) sure seems to be pointing to Trump making everyone around him test for covid while he wasn't getting tested. Nobody can point to when he last tested negative, cuz he wasn't getting tested at all.
|
My friend has taken to calling Trump the Pestilence of the United States. Well coined IMO.
|
Quote:
So that's like Biden +20 in reality, right? :D |
Quote:
Part of me's looking forward to seeing what happens when some friends & acquaintances of mine see the results. Particularly the ones who generally are apolitical but have gone all-in on COVID is a hoax, Trump is the greatest president and America's only real hope, etc. The butthurt may well rival what happened on the left when Trump won, and that's a high bar. |

And it seems more and more likely that the superspreader at the ACB party was Trump himself. |

Yep, and they'll swear until their dying day that the Deep State rigged the election for Biden. |
There's a tipping point where the Trump supporters aren't going to turn out. His brand of being a "winner" is a big part of his appeal. You don't stick around a bully who is about to lose - you're going to try and pretend you never liked him in the first place, just like all the people that abandoned Bush after 2006.

So who is Trump's mistress that gave it to him? |

It would be really great if that happened. I would love to see Indiana flip blue because of this reason. |
sorta conspiracy dola-
I wonder if Melania even has it? Admitting that she doesn't would just show how little time they spend together. I thought it was a fishy announcement from the start. |

Hope Hicks? |

nah, she had an affair with some other dude on the campaign. Trump wouldn't want sloppy seconds like that. |
Because Stormy Daniels was so virtuous when Trump got to have sex with her?

I don't doubt that he has banged Hicks, but she's been linked to a bunch of dudes in his circle and all of them have gotten downgraded. Lewandowski, Porter, (maybe not actually) Parscale. |

Because there are people out there that need the $1,200 check, companies will continue to layoff without something, and have Biden and Dems inherit a "less" weak economy. Looking at it from a purely political point of view, I agree that Pelosi should not agree on a deal this close to elections. Not because it will hurt Trump because I doubt he'd get that big of a bump, but because what they can say about the GOP Senate not wanting to deal, and also because of the more Dem friendly package they can pass in Jan. But she does need to continue to "negotiate" and show as if the Dems are trying. So what is the greater good or the lesser of 2 evils? |
Dems passed two bills that the Senate won't even bring up for a vote. The Senate has done squat.
Nothing is going to pass because McConnell doesn't want it to. He knows Trump is toast and likely his Senate majority. He's not going to hand Biden a recovering economy. And he already got the money for wealthy folks and big companies that he cares about. So he'll get the new SCOTUS judge confirmed and that's it. Reports are that McConnell is the one that got in Trump's ear yesterday to tell him to pull out of talks. There's no reason why Democrats wouldn't want a massive bill to pass to help their candidate when they take office. |
Quote:
If it goes blue wave this year because the Trump support just crumbles, that will help the Dems across the board for the next decade with redistricting SI |
One thing that never gets brought up from the media side is that unemployment benefits do have time limits (I believe 6 months and then there is a possbile federal 3 month extension after that) to the point that the great majority's benefits will likely have already expired entirely before they reach any kind of agreement on 'boosting' those benefits, which soundly defeats the point.
|
And the House passed the first Heroes Act back in May. GOP Senate did nothing for 5 months. Pelosi was negotiating with Mnuchin until Trump backed out yesterday. Not sure how this is the Dems fault when they've already passed 2 bills and Trump backed out of negotiations.
|
Quote:
Because the Dems are supposed to be the ones who actually want to take care of people so it's their fault if people are screwed? SI |

This whole presidency is what happens when you hand the keys to the kingdom to the spoiled, privileged sibling who has skated through life on his/her trust account their whole life. America has become what the Hilton Hotel brand would be if Paris was named CEO 10 years ago.
|
I'd actually trust Paris Hilton as President more than Trump.
|
Trump could have bowed out during the primaries in 2016, said something along the lines of "I can do more to help make America great again by not being constrained by politics", started a news network to trash hillary's presidency 24/7, make 100s of millions, and been happier.
His presidency will go down as one of the worst things for Trump and his family. All of them have countless investigations to look forward to from here on out. |

I just saw on Fox News that the Trump campaign has stopped ads in Ohio and Iowa because they are so "optimistic". I guess that is one way to put it.

Just saw a tweet that they've either pulled out or severely cut back ads in the entire Midwest.

Fox News poll Biden +10, Biden +39 among those who believe Covid is most important factor.

Jesus, sorry I asked. "some people don't understand what therapeutic means" says the guy that has no clue what therapeutic means.
This is like his bottom of the 9th, close my eyes and swing for the fences against a Phil Niekro knuckler moment. Free Regeneron for everyone and my truth, even when it is another lie, is the only "truth" that matters!! |
Quote:
If I am doing my math right, that means that for people for whom COVID is the most important factor, Biden leads ~70-30 Which means that 30% of the people for whom COVID is the most important factor still prefer Trump. How is that possible? It's like 30% of the people for whom reducing immigration is the most important factor being pro-Biden. |
So we can prosecute terrorists and didn't need military courts in Guantanamo.

I interpret that to mean opening the country and moving past Covid is what they mean by most important to them. Not that his response to something they think is serious has been good, but that his anti-mask, live with it approach is the correct answer to Covid. |

Maybe it's Sadie Hawkins day in those two states? |
Quote:
I guess the game theory reason (assuming the reports of low money are true) is that if he's lost those states, he's probably lost the entire Midwest and the election. So if you think in terms of Worlds In Which Trump Wins, you have to start with the assumption that he's got Ohio and Iowa in the bag. Then you think that, OK, the swing states in that assumed world are Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Arizona. |

So I wonder how it goes that that stupid fuck, just pimped socialized medicine and a drug that is manufactured because of stem cell research? It's not cheap either. Oh, and the military will be in charge of drug distribution now? WTF? Obama was accused of trying to take over Texas by using WalMarts and they actually called up the NG to 'observe'? WTF would they have done if he'd told everyone he was going to use the military to make sure that 'government drugs' were sent to everyone? I mean, holy fucking hell.

I am strangely fascinated by the trials & tribulations of the Conway household.
I think Kellyanne deserves everything that is happening to her now. I also believe George abdicated his responsibility to try to create a "stable" environment for his daughter with his constant bickering about Trump. Daughter is paying for it and is lashing out. Family needs professional help. I doubt it'll work out though and it may be best to just get divorced and let Claudia pick who she wants to live with. So I watched the VP debate for about 2 minutes. Harris was saying "If you have preexisting conditions, they're coming for you. If you are under 26 and still with your parents, they're coming for you."...and Pence shook his head NO severely. And then when he was given a turn to speak, he said Obamacare was a failure.
... ... ... So Mike... Oh Mike... You hate Obamacare... Your party has been trying to overturn it for 10+ years... Still with me Mike? You want to shove through a Sup Court Justice so you can overturn it... Your party and you....and your boss wants to end it. And then....all of those these...Harris just said....are true...you coming for us....you are coming for all of us... So why not give a witch's cackle and shriek "I'll get you my pretty! I'm coming for you all!!!!" Because that IS in essence what you said. Still there Mike? |
Just announced second debate will be virtual. Trump is going to lose his damn mind.
|
Trump said no. But I mean, he NEEDS the debate. Biden doesn't.
|
Tuned in to Fox News for a few minutes. They are apoplectic about the change in venue and that the debate commission didn’t check with Trump first. Just goes to show they don’t understand what they can and can’t control. Never mind the fact it’s his fault they have to do it. His biggest gripe was they can cut you off. Lol.
|
The debate commission is clearly discriminating against Trump because of his preexisting health condition.
|
"didn't check with Trump first."
How cute. |
If I'm Biden I jump at this chance and say, okay, we're done with debates. Trump needs them and Biden can't get anything else from them.
|
Sen. Mike Lee tweeting about the problems with democracy seems a bit ominous. It's an argument that I've seen a few times over the past week.
|
Quote:
At this point it's a win-win for Biden. The Commission has said it's going forward no matter what... so it's either a 90 min town hall for Biden or Trump comes crawling back. Biden should only say we are done if the Commission caves to Trump. Saying it's too dangerous to meet face to face considering Trump has COVID-19 and he has been very cavalier about wearing a mask to protect others. |
Trump blaming Gold Star families for getting him infected should play well.
|
Quote:
I expect the Debate Commission caves somehow, the way they have with enforcing COVID rules. I think Biden will get hurt if he bails after Trump comes back, so give Trump what he's asking for and make him live with the consequences. |
|
I had prospefity once. It upset my stomach.
|
Quote:
The Commission apparently made this decision after the Production Staff revolted (after Trump's positive result and Trump/Pence family members not wearing masks). So it is going to be harder for them to walk it back. |
They've already held to the decision and said they'll have the debate without Trump.
They need to stick to their guns and call his bluff. |
This is good. Kind of a mix of bailing and staying in, but making the only other debate potentially the worst format for Trump.
|
Calling out Trump for being weak is the BEST sort of statement to goad him to do it.
|
I still don't want Biden in a room with Trump or Trump's people or Trump's people's people. Even is Trump is no longer shedding virus like a Tijuana prostitute, what about all the people who caught it from him?

Don't have the details yet, but five people in MIchigan have been arrested in a plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer

These guys' have horrible timing. Had they gotten caught earlier, they would have gotten a keynote speaking spot at the GOP convention.
