SI

Not repeated enough.

It's a chemistry thing: H20 too = H202

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is the simplest peroxide (a compound with an oxygen-oxygen single bond) and an oxidizer. Hydrogen peroxide is a clear liquid, slightly more viscous than water. In dilute solution it appears colorless. With its oxidizing properties, hydrogen peroxide is often used as a bleach or cleaning agent.

Hydrogen peroxide, either in pure or diluted form, can pose several risks:

So... can anyone explain where the bromate came from? I keep seeing articles about "naturally occurring" or some other oddball stuff but I can't help but think "you know- it's not like every lake has this problem so how did we get there with this?"

Were the aurora pics from the show last week? I was ticked that I missed that as it's something I've wanted to see since I was a kid :(

The few stories I read were talking about it blocks out the sun from the water, keeping the sunlight from combining the chlorine and bromides from becoming bromate

It's just the new thing. Putting bacon on stuff and taking pictures. People will soon be putting bacon on people who are tebowing or planking to combine the phenomenons.

People obviously don't have enough to do if they're putting bacon on random objects, taking pictures of it, and thinking it's cool.

People are idiots.
