Well, out numbered by nearly 25,000

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 05:39 PM

No sweat.

Double the ships though.

path12 05-30-2013 05:42 PM

What I wouldn't give for some wildfire.....

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 05:43 PM

Mind the rather large wolves, guys.

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 05:43 PM

And I don't mean that fatass Karstark. ;)

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 05:44 PM

Alright, quitting time at work.

MrBug708 05-30-2013 05:45 PM

I might be fat, but the blood of the first men still flows through my veins my Liege

bhlloy 05-30-2013 05:59 PM

I think that's actually cholesterol tubby

Your day is coming. Probably all over Cersei's face

bhlloy 05-30-2013 06:06 PM

I was just going to say you must be excited to have the chance to fulfill your win condition, with us being on different sides. Just don't pull a stomach muscle putting your armor on.

Here's a riddle for you. What's round, has a moon but no sons?

Chief Rum 05-30-2013 06:16 PM

Horns sound and pennants fly as the battle lines are drawn. On the open water, the immense Dragonstone-Stark fleet tries to work its numbers advantage over the smaller Baratheon-Lannister fleet.

The armies afield seem to be cautious, as the ships took the fight to each other. The fighting is brutal. King Stannis's fleet quickly has the upperhanded and has a devastating victory. Soon Dragonstone has control of the seas.

Now assured that they will not be flanked by armies from the opposing ships, the forces of Stannis settle in. King Renly's forces, led by Jaime Lannister, lead the charge.

The two sides clash mightily, with Jaime and Brienne slashing down foes, both Stark and Dragonstone alike, falling in a wide swath about them. Robb Stark's direwolf Greywind is a menace, jumping at the sight of anything gold and tearing men apart.

The fighting continues all day, with neither side clearly gaining the upperhand. The Dragonstone ships, however, are now flanking Renly's army, settling around the headlands inland of Cape Wrath.

Robb Stark and Roose Bolton lead a charge of Northmen down upon the Kingslayer and the Maid of Tarth. With men quaking before the great direwolf, the Storm's End line breaks and suddenly the Starks have poured into the center of Renly's lines! Greywind jumps for Brienne! He has her dead to rights!

But, no, Jaime Lannister jumps forward and slashes at the great wolf, injuring Greywind and saving Brienne! Alas, it does him no good, though, because Roose Bolton steps up and cuts Jaime Lannister's throat! The Kingslayer falls to the battlefield ground, his life's blood pouring out.

With a mighty roar, Brienne swings her broadsword and chops through Roose Bolton's neck. Headless, the former Lord of the Dreadfort pitches to the ground.

Robb Stark steps up and places his shield to Brienne's throat and demands she yield. With frustration in her eyes, she does.

The sounds of retreat are being called. Bannermen of both Storm's End and Lannister are falling back. They are in full retreat, back to Maidenpool!

King Renly and his ally King Joffrey have been defeated.

HOUSE DRAGONSTONE AND HOUSE STARK have won the Battle of Cape Wrath.

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 06:17 PM

Well, fuck.

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 06:18 PM

We had a good run JAG.

Chief Rum 05-30-2013 06:19 PM

JAIME LANNISTER (bhlloy) is dead, and any assets he has returns to King Joffrey.

ROOSE BOLTON (JAG) is dead, and any assets he has returns to King Robb Stark, including the ancestral Bolton home The Dreadfort.

BRIENNE OF TARTH (fontisian) is Captured, and in the custody of House Stark.

Cape Wrath remains in Dragonstone hands. Maidenpool remains in Storm's End hands, and is not generating income for either side.

Chief Rum 05-30-2013 06:21 PM

As King Robb Stark and Stannis Baratheon convene to consider their victory, they receive a courier from the maester of the tower at the Seaworth Keep. There is news from the west...

Chief Rum 05-30-2013 06:23 PM

King Renly and King Joffrey are still in shock over their defeat when a soldier on the battlement of Maidenpool calls out that an official emmissary from King's Landing is approaching, and is seeking an audience with both Kings. It seems there is news from the northwest...

Chief Rum 05-30-2013 06:26 PM

THE IRON ISLANDS HAVE RISEN IN REBELLION!

HOUSE GREYJOY has risen to reclaim the kingdom they believe is theirs by rights! King Balon Greyjoy (The Jackal) is now the fifth King in the game!

He is joined by Asha Greyjoy (britrock88) and the recently fled Theon Greyjoy (Julio Riddols)!

They control the keeps of Pyke and Harlaw in the Iron Islands to the northwest of Westeros.

HOUSE GREYJOY IS OFFICIALLY A NEW FACTION IN THE GAME.

InBlue 05-30-2013 06:29 PM

My sincere condolences to the Starks. You lost a good man out there.
But thank you for fighting with us. I'm sure we wouldn't have won without you.

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 06:32 PM

The plot doth thicken.

path12 05-30-2013 06:32 PM

I think I speak for King's Landing as well when I say that Storm's End would welcome an emissary from House Greyjoy.

InBlue 05-30-2013 06:34 PM

So you can make shady deals with them, too? Because you already tried the rest of us?

hoopsguy 05-30-2013 06:36 PM

Everything is coming up Stannis?
Naval win, full complement of bannermen ...

Alas, when you play the Game of Thrones, there is no middle ground.

Good luck Starks.

Love this.

mauchow 05-30-2013 06:43 PM

Wow. I doubr I get to join any armys but that was awesome..

MrBug708 05-30-2013 06:43 PM

The price is high, but Jaime is dead

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 06:44 PM

Well font, you have a simple fonting decision to make.

You can bend your fonting knee, or I can cut off your fonting head.

:D

Chief Rum 05-30-2013 06:45 PM

Okay, there is still lot's to do on this deadline, including Enemy of the Realm. But I am short on time here at work and I need to do some of that here right now. Then I work a good chunk of the night. And my long distance GF came into town three days early. I will roll everything as soon as I can. But there is a realistic chance the next deadline won't be tomorrow night.

So just letting you all know. Good time for you all to kinda try to figure out where you're at with all this stuff going down.

My PMs may max out as I won't have a chance to clear them out until later. So you may need to re-send any orders you have made.

I'll just have to deal with not seeing King-Hand communication, I think, for now.

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 06:47 PM

And in what should come as a shock to no one...

I name Lord Karstark as Hand of the King

Tell your "king" he can come out from behind his witch now.

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 06:57 PM

As a side note, even though it cost me a vassal, I *love* the fifth king mechanic, and bonus players.

Then I've got one fonting question for you. Are you honorable?

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 07:16 PM

Font yes I fonting honorable. You might have to ask Chief to confirm that, but I'm pretty fonting sure.

Even though I'd have to pay money to clear up your own fonting dishonor. That may have been partially my own doing, but hey.

fontisian 05-30-2013 07:19 PM

Renly, anything to say?

I would like you back, my lady.

hoopsguy 05-30-2013 07:23 PM

I'm pretty sure the only way that Renly gets Brienne back is through negotiation with Robb or with the head in a box.

I would prefer the first. It is not clear that Stark is looking to negotiate.

Got it in one.

Coffee Warlord 05-30-2013 07:25 PM

That also depends on Brienne.

bulletsponge 05-30-2013 07:48 PM

our enemies are coming out of the wooodworks like roaches

fontisian 05-30-2013 07:49 PM

If Renly cannot negotiate my return, I will bend the knee. You should be aware that I have some restrictions due to my sense of honor and loyalty to Renly.

Autumn 05-30-2013 07:52 PM

Well, I'm certainly glad that we were able to throw off the enemy, Robb, though I wish the Lannisters had stayed out of things and made it a clear rout. They didn't earn any friend but a king without any bannermen, and could have found loyal friends in us.

I have a busy evening, but will get back to this soon.

JAG 05-30-2013 07:53 PM

Just one more dead post and I'll stop:

I've been so conditioned over the past nine days not to click the other House threads that even though I for sure will not be resurrected as another player, I still find myself reluctant to do so.

Autumn 05-30-2013 07:53 PM

(I love the idea of the Iron Islands rising, but kind of wish those new players had been available for substitutions instead.)

I think they were contacted about subs and built from there

Autumn 05-30-2013 08:04 PM

For those who questioned Melisandre's actions, it's clear that with the might of Ser Loras in the battle, we would have lost. Even without him Robb lost his Hand.

Joffrey, I'm sorry to see you throw yourself in league with a losing man. I hope that you quickly reconsider your position.

I believe that begs the question, then. How much money can you pay for her safe return?

hoopsguy 05-30-2013 08:29 PM

As with last night, I'm prepared to offer my vote for $2,000.

Don't forget, there are a few new bannermen that are eligible for election. Just in case someone wanted to create some movement as the deadline approaches ...
