I really enjoyed Peaky Blinders. Two seasons available. Great for those trying to get that Boardwalk Empire fix.

Thanks.. I've been missing that BE void. :)

I liked this one too.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Charlie Brooker can do no wrong. Heavily sci-fi based with a twilight zone slant. Really one of the better shows to come around in the last 5 years.

Black Mirror really is fascinating and weird, I enjoy it. There's going to be a Black Mirror Christmas Special (seriously) starring Jon Hamm, I am really looking forward to that.

I thought this was a great movie. The most appealing part, maybe even more appealing than the comedy, was the locations they filmed it in. Really felt like a look into a familiar neighborhood, something I could relate to.

ColtCrazy 02-23-2015 01:57 PM

Watched "Field of Lost Shoes" last night. Not a bad little Civil War flick. A bit overdramatic at times, but some decent action scenes.

Murphy and Neill are SO good in it though.

House of Cards is back on Feb. 27th

Watch Go to Work Online | Netflix

Internet comments are gold. And I basically hate the genre.

Peregrine 06-14-2015 08:50 PM

I've started watching Halt and Catch Fire, the AMC show - which now has its first season on Netflix. For me it's totally watchable and pretty good - can't wait for the second season.

sabotai 06-14-2015 09:06 PM

I watched the first few episodes today as well. Good show, but as a computer geek, lines like "your code is like music" makes my eyes roll hard enough to give me a headache.

Dodgerchick 06-24-2015 07:22 PM

NO ONE HAS MENTIONED SENSE 8????!!!!!!!!! OMG, I fucking love this show. Antmeister and I went through it really fast.

miami_fan 06-24-2015 07:44 PM

For those that are interested, the entire Seinfeld library is now streaming on Hulu.

I had the opposite response. I thought it was terrible.

Antmeister 06-25-2015 12:03 AM

Yeah, surprised not to see Sense8 on this list considering we waited a week after it came out to watch it. Highly rated show on both IMDB as well as Netflix itself. Multiple-character driven show with some familiar actors who aren't even the main focus of the show.

In this first season, the focus is on 8 characters who are telepathically linked but live at different locations of the world. At various points of the show they can take on the ability of each other when needed.

Not sure why, but that cracked me up. Only could have been better if it was Antmeister that posted how bad it was.

Barkeep49 06-25-2015 07:32 AM

From what I've read I've been waiting for my brother to watch it so I can get a better sense of whether I'd like it.

Just went through, quickly, Rake which is an Australian Lawyer show. They made a bad American version of it with Greg Kinnear, but I really enjoyed the 16 episodes on Netflix enough that I got the Season 3 (the last season) DVD from my library.

The Wet Hot American Summer series and this are awesome moves for Netflix IMO. I like the way they're doing things over there.

+1

Can't wait for Jessica Jones and Punisher.

cthomer5000 08-23-2015 06:11 PM

I need to start checking this thread more often. I go into Netflix with the best intentions, then just end up watching one of Tarantino's movies for the 15th time. I feel like they do a shit job of serving up suggestions for me.

tarcone 08-23-2015 07:13 PM

Watching The X Files. It's been along time. Love this show.

Mizzou B-ball fan 08-23-2015 09:53 PM

Loved watching Mr. Untouchable. Fascinating story about a NYC drug kingpin that I didn't know anything about.

Re: Recommendations on Netflix Original series.

I have seen Daredevil and know of House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. Outside of those anybody have any experience with some of Netflix's other series? Interested in Sense8 and Bloodlines and maybe some others just not sure which to start next.

edit: Guess I could have scrolled up. See Sense8 has mixed reactions and Peaky Blinders is decent.

Sense8 only has mixed reactions here. The rest of the population likes it:
Sense8 (TV Series 2015– ) - IMDb
Sense8: Season 1 - Rotten Tomatoes

Watch Lillehammer. Great show about a mafia guy who goes into the protection program after testifying in a case, chooses Lillehammer as his destination.
He then sets up shop. Great characters. Great story lines.

ISiddiqui 08-24-2015 11:08 AM

Too many good shows to pick from on Netflix. I'm enjoying the Hell out of "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Class". I saw the first episode of "Bloodlines" and thought it was fantastic.

I need to see "Sense8" and "Grace and Frankie".

And I still haven't watched "Daredevil" (I'm not sure why - maybe I'm comic book show'ed out for the moment).

Mizzou B-ball fan 08-24-2015 11:16 AM

Saw that Narcos is starting soon too. Hoping that's a good one. Just ridiculous amounts of great series on Netflix right now.

chinaski 08-24-2015 09:42 PM

I think The Young Doctors Notebook is a BBC/Netflix exclusive? Anyways, its freaking fantastic and I highly suggest you and everyone you know watch it.

Groundhog 08-24-2015 10:11 PM

We tried Sense 8 a few weeks ago. Forced myself to endure the whole first episode, but just couldn't make it more than 15 mins through the second.

I think the moment I knew this show was not for me was when the two cops were in the car driving through gang territory, and one cop says to the other '...but I guess you must really hate gangs, after they murdered your parents?' (slight paraphrase). Just one of those classic pieces of shitty dialogue used to establish character backgrounds/motivations that bad shows and movies use and instantly give me no faith in the script...

Daredevil was pretty great, and although a lot of that is due to the villains, but they've also found a good mix of humour and violence/darkness that the other superhero TV shows haven't.

Although not a favorite, I enjoy Radcliffe and Hamm immensely in it.

I've only caught the first two episodes of Sense8 so far and really liked both. I'm looking forward to the rest.

I loved Daredevil.

Izulde 08-25-2015 12:08 AM

I hated Sense8 too. Found it very boring.

Groundhog 08-25-2015 12:35 AM

I only watched it at all because there was a big debate at work split down the middle between those who love Sense8, and those who hated it - seems like that's the norm. :)

RainMaker 08-25-2015 02:09 AM

I hated Sense8. Really enjoyed Daredevil though. About as good as you can do a TV series based on a comic.

ISiddiqui 08-25-2015 09:32 AM

Just finished Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Class. Man, that was just gut bustingly hilarious!

Mizzou B-ball fan 08-27-2015 02:25 PM

Enemy at the Gates was recently added. Somehow I missed this one. Really good WWII movie about snipers.

Critch 08-28-2015 10:19 PM

I've had Jiro Dreams of Sushi on my watchlist for a while, but since it's supposedly dropping off Netflix soon I finally got round to watching it tonight. Documentary about Jiro Ono, the top sushi chef in Tokyo. 85 years old but still running his 10 seat, $300 per seat restaurant in central Tokyo.

Well worth watching if the idea of a documentary about a sushi chef sounds like your kind of thing.

PilotMan 08-28-2015 10:35 PM

I started that one, but never got into it.

RainMaker 08-28-2015 10:40 PM

Anyone start Narcos yet?

I have no idea how they managed to fit everyone in the show. It was easily my favorite show this summer.

CraigSca 09-25-2015 05:25 AM

Up to episode 10 of Bloodlines. My wife and I both think it's fantastic.

Groundhog 09-25-2015 06:53 AM

Really liked Narcos. My Colombian friend doesn't rate it though - apparently there's another Escobar-centric drama in Spanish that is about 400 episodes long that did a better job with the story.

Jesus.

Groundhog 09-25-2015 07:14 AM

A slight exaggeration. :D

It was about 100 episodes IIRC.
