It was extremely difficult. Spell-checker wasn't working for me.
Actually, I just found out about 20 minutes ago. |

Just to be clear, my question wasn't aimed at you personally, but the mod overlords in general. |
The over-the-top drama that ensues from having posts and pics deleted is almost as entertaining as some of the pics themselves. Hopefully some people are getting fucked with for sheer entertainment value.

Wait? You want common sense, realistic approaches, and an explanation? Now you are just asking for too much. Get a job hippie! |
Common Sense tells me that there are over 11,600 posts in this thread, 99.99% of them don't get touched and we should just lighten the fuck up and enjoy the cool stuff that is posted.
If a mod takes down a picture that you don't think should have caused a problem... so what? Someone did and there are tens of thousands of other images here to look at, get over it. |
You would think there were a dozen or so rational people just hanging out together making fun of all you guys getting your panties in a bunch.

there would be less problems if people were actually told why a pic is taken down, if the cars were hosted by a malware site then everybody (and the pic poster) knows that instead of it being some super top secret "because i can!" thing. |
Here's the thing.
As best we can tell, none of the mods took the car pictures down until the malware site was reported this morning. The working theory is that the external site was causing the post to be invisible. I think if you look back you'll see both Ksyrup and I post that neither of us could see the post or see that a post had been deleted. For some reason, the post reappeared (again likely attributable to the external site) for a short time. That's when the Ksyrup post above picks up with a non-mod reporting the post and it being deleted. Today. So, if you want to keep your tinfoil hat on, feel free, but there's really not much to see here. |

I could see the posts the whole time as could others. So great we know why the cars came down, how about an explanation on the other pics because as we can see; there are other pics of chicks still up. |
What a bunch of drama queens.
I deleted the post. I was busy at work and didn't have time to post. And now I've got two post reports for NSFW pics that I wouldn't consider to be NSFW. This thread is getting to be more trouble than its worth. Y'all need to toe the line, or it's just going to be deleted and pic rights given only to mods and a few others who have proven themselves mature enough to handle it. |

That cake looks good.

So, top of the page … oh, never mind. |

I found these images posted on another message board awhile ago. I'm thinking it was somethingawful, but not entirely sure. The guy had found a picture album of really old photos from all over the world (mostly Europe and North Africa). I don't remember if he said what year the photos were taken.

The Sphinx (looks like restoration on it, or they are excavating it, which would mean the photo was taken from 1925-1936, leaning towards the later since it looks to be mostly excavated in the picture.)

My guess is late 1800s. Especially from looking at the Sphinx picture.
EDIT: Except for the first one you posted. It has cars in in the picture. EDIT2: I don't know, maybe not after wikipedia-ing it. Regardless, very cool pictures. |

The photos must be from 1936. The Sphinx was at the end of the excavations and this one is of King Fuad's funeral, and he died in 1936.

I like the direction this thread is taking.
