You can't see the little hole in the bottom floor from this angle.

This classic photo has been getting a lot of play locally, with the St Helens eruption anniversary coming up:

There are some people born without a gene (?) for fear of heights.

It's Dubai, so she was probably told to do it or else she'd be stoned.

spleen1015 01-23-2022 09:19 AM

Looks fake

PilotMan 01-23-2022 09:24 AM

I am sure it's legit. The Sheiks of Dubai really want to do, be, have the biggest of everything. Even air show. Currently it's Paris, they've spent millions on trying to be a global aviation hub. Spent billions on a the largest plane in the world that almost nobody bought besides them and that Airbus doesn't make anymore. So it fits. Tough to say how high up, but it looks like it was shot a distance with a high quality lens and zoomed in to crop it right. Initially I thought maybe it was a trick, and she was like 6 feet off, but those look like cell phone antennas on the sides, so probably not.

Pretty sure its real.

They can't do it with imported flight attendants can they?

I remember flying Emirates several years ago. Definitely nice but what was striking was all the female flight attendants looked/were European (didn't pay much attention to the males).

PilotMan 01-23-2022 10:44 AM

They can use whomever they want. Like a lot of foreign carriers they still age out, and must maintain appearance standards.

Okay, this is probably better in the Random thread but trying to bring this thread back to life. I love ramen, I'd like to think I'd try this, but nah I really wouldn't.

No price in article.

Godzilla Ramen - featuring a crocodile leg that hangs off the edge of the bowl - is a monster hit in Taiwan
:
Dubbed Godzilla Ramen by internet users, the Yunlin-based eatery call their creation 'thick witch crocodile ramen'.

It features the leg of a crocodile, which protrudes out of a noodle and broth-filled bowl, almost as though it is crawling out of it.

The Witch Cat ramen restaurant has, perhaps unsurprisingly, not had any takers for the bizarre dish yet.

Well done CNN.

So many cool & sobering pics. Sorry, not able to embed.

Alligator is called Godzilla. So, if that is a Godzilla sized alligator, the Burmese python size (albeit dead) puts it to shame. I knew they grew long but that is some girth.

The embedded video is more impressive.

Terrifying video shows 'Godzilla' alligator dragging enormous python in its jaws | Daily Mail Online

Kelly Alvarez, an Everglades National Park tour guide, was able to film the alligator, who is nicknamed 'Godzilla', as it held a massive dead Burmese python in its jaws and swam with it along the surface of the murky waters on Thanksgiving Day.

Terrorist Mastermind? Or failed Dwarf concept for The Hobbit movie?

You decide.

If I had that kind of money, I would want at least a junior Olympic length pool so I could do some laps.

Still pretty cool idea but exclusively for really, really rich people.
