one reason i hate basketball is that the rules seem to be too vague and/or erradically called.
No because the offensive player is already in the air before the defensive player is able to set.
equally important, if not more so, is the fact that the defensive player moved. additionally, significant impact was not made (helped, obviously, by the fact that the defender moved).

that call, along with many, are quite obvious. what's impressive is that these referees are able to do it real-time and (generally) get it right. i can make the calls after, like, 3-4 replays in slow motion and have generally agree with them.
