gee that's gratitude after I specifically did NOT go after you and went to Simbo instead last game because of all the nice civ advice you gave.

VOTE ABE SARGENT

Nice fake reveal last game.

Is the game going to stay one way the whole time I wonder. Like can the game change to another game at a certain point? That would be scary.

Autumn 12-16-2012 04:34 PM

To clarify the rules, everybody is aware of their role (well, unless there's a wolf cub in the game). The only uncertainty is what other roles are in the game, i.e. what set of roles you are actually playing. If you were given a role you definitely have it, and if you weren't given a role then you definitely don't have it.

Sorry, CF. Still willing to give Civ advice, and I promise I don't intend to pick on you.

Hello! I come bearing pitchforks and yuks. Now, then. Puppies line up on the left for Snausages, villagers on the right for high-fives ...

Love this movie, and find myself making references to this line way more often than would seem natural in any normal conversations.

LOL, well played Abe, well played. :)

Simbo Klice 12-16-2012 11:39 PM

Hmmmm, I'd guess after a couple days we'll be able to narrow it down to 2 of the games based on who dies. I think if it's set 1 or 2, we have a slight advantage, 3 a disadvantage, and 4 is basically a roulette spin, could go bad either way quickly. Not going to vote yet.

britrock88 12-17-2012 12:33 AM

Somewhat reiterating what I said on p. 1, but if anyone is roled, s/he can narrow to 2 which of the game sets we're in. And any combination of roled players somehow communicating to each other (except seer/BG) can definitively answer which game set we're in.

That said, what pros are cons are there to knowing the precise game set? The best thing I can think of is preventing fake reveals of roles that are not possibly in play. In that case, we could either figure out and announce the game set to stifle the possibility of fake reveals, or wait for a fake reveal to occur and have 2 roled players corroborate to rebut the reveal.

The wolves already have it narrowed down to two based on if they have a seer or not. I think knowing if we have a cultist is important, or if there is a wolf seer. Basically just knowing what we're up against. Even those of us who think we're simple Vanilla Villagers have a 4.16% chance of being a Wolf Cub. Since there's a game in there with no roled villagers, we could have no means of busting a fake reveal.

I'm probably going to be skeptical of any reveals until we know more (unless it comes with a result).

Good. Something in the rules made me think that roles were hidden from even us. THus how does a seer know he needs to scan. :) Glad it isn't Batman-complicated. :)

Hey, everyone, I'm a vanilla vill... wait, say what who wants to kill who now?

Howdy folks. Villager checking in.

booradley 12-17-2012 08:47 AM

Well, while I'm sure most of the preceding is nothing more than good humor, hmm. Wolves are sneaky. Wolves feint with the left while harboring darker intentions with their right. If anyone would want to agitate early, it'd probably be a wolf.

Vote JAG

Sorry, bro. Just remember, all dogs go to heaven. I saw it on the TV.

Overly complicated explanation of D1 vote, obviously a wolf move.

GoldenEagle 12-17-2012 09:52 AM

Checking in.

Nothing better than morning coffee and a fresh game of Werewolf.

Autumn 12-17-2012 10:13 AM

Welcome to Monday. All villager received a message stating "You are a simple villager." This was not meant as a slur on your intellectual abilities. Not yet.

I wanted him to get the feel of the game right away. Next time he'll just vote for someone D1 and I'll say, "He's trying not to give anything away, obviously a wolf move". In fact every new player should have to read EagleFan's post about sniffing out wolves on D1.

Doesn't like garlic. Is prepping for a meal. Hmmm ... [narrowed eyes] Hmmm ...

spleen1015 12-17-2012 11:47 AM

Is it me or is this game really quiet so far?

No action is a good thing for the wolves.

GoldenEagle 12-17-2012 12:29 PM

Yea, it has been pretty quiet so far. It might help to try to figure out what game we are in, but I think that would give the wolves a much greater advantage to know what game we are in as opposed to the village.

JAG 12-17-2012 12:39 PM

Most of the D1 action is discussing the ruleset, but most of them are fairly vanilla other than maybe game 4. So that leaves us with the voting and discussion after votes are put down. We've only had about five votes to this point.

spleen1015 12-17-2012 12:49 PM

#48 - JAG voted Abe Sargent
#49 - britrock88 voted CrimsonFox
#51 - CrimsonFox voted Chief Rum
#77 - booradley voted JAG
#87 - spleen1015 voted britrock88

1 - Abe Sargent

Going to vote after I go to grab a coffee.

DaddyTorgo 12-17-2012 02:31 PM

No reason other than we need to get some consolidation moving.

Open to moving wherever of course. May try to do some holiday shopping later, but I can't imagine I'd be out until deadline.

VOTE JAG

britrock88 12-17-2012 02:40 PM

We could also benefit from a participation rate better than 6/13...

Darth Vilus 12-17-2012 02:59 PM

I havent played in awhile, what's a wolf seer?

Suicane75 12-17-2012 02:59 PM

No real reason other than a gut instinct, but that could also be the pizza I ate this morning.

Bunch of possible roles listed page 1, basically it's a wolf that scans for the seer.

Ah, gotcha
