Roles are revealed upon death, with the exception of the fake seer who is revealed as a seer. No lynch is not a valid vote. A tie vote will be broken by the masons, or else will result in no-lynch. How this will work: If there are 5 votes for the top two vote getters, whichever one has more votes by masons will be lynched. If both have equal or zero votes from the masons, there will be no lynch.
|
can I just not vote?
|
Quote:
Sure. But if the vote count is 20 no vote, 1 Lathum, Lathum gets lynched. It would have to be a unanimous no-vote to pass. |

ok, I have what I need to know. |

I am quite excited about getting back into WW games. I only played in a few back in the day (and I wasn't all that good), but I certainly enjoyed them.
I said it once and I will say it again - hooray for having almost nothing blocked at work :) |
Quote:
good to have you back. oddly enough Cronin and I were just discussing wisconson area FOFC'rs |
Quote:
Creepy. I am the best one around, no doubt about it ;) |
Quote:
I just noticed you are in Appleton...I flew out of the Appleton airport once...it was an experience. :) |

|
Mrs. Schmidty, I'm happy to have you. There has never been a game that required players to be on at deadline, that I can remember, although most players believe there is some strategic benefit to being online at that time.
|
I just like to be around at the deadline to watch Kwhit lamenting about villagers making moves at the deadline!! :) :)
|
Well, the post volume is high near the deadline. You have a lot of the players in the room at the same time. And there is much more pressure on a decision at this point than there is during the day. So understanding the deadline is important and it is easier to do when you are around for it.
That said, you can certainly play the game without being around for it. I just think it is harder (not impossible) to get good reads when you aren't around at the same time as the majority of players. |
Quote:
Yay! :) |
Quote:
The one time I have flown out of there (only time ever flying) it wasn't that bad - then again, it was in 2002, but still. |
Quote:
You're making me want to get back up on my soapbox (not that anyone listens to me anyway). :) |
Quote:
First time I ever flew in a plane I jumped out of it. |
Quote:
Good thinking. |
Quote:
Sounds like my first marriage. |
Quote:
Best part was being able to say I'd flown in a plane but never landed in one. |
Quote:
Naw, I had a chute. |
Quote:
Well, I'm used to large airports...Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, LAX, etc...Appleton's airport was one hallway with 2 doors at the end, gate A and gate B. I walked out of the gate, down a flight of stairs, onto the runway, and then walked onto the plane. Just very different from what I'm used to :) |
Quote:
Haha, very good point. Appleton is not, by any means, a large airport - but it is certainly a nice commodity to have! |
Signups are closed! Here is the selection order:
wolf 2 villagers wolf 4 villagers wolf 8 villagers wolf 2 villagers wolf Villager roles Seer Fake Seer Spy Bodyguard 2 Masons Duke Philosopher Hunter 7 vanilla villagers Wolf roles Cunning wolf Brutal wolf cultist Sorceror Regular wolf In the morning I will post official descriptions of the roles, send out pms to everybody, and start the game. The first deadline will be Wednesday 1pm my time (3pm for the East Coasters, noon for the West Coasters). |
"Lets Get it ON!!!"
|
Got my PM, checking in as a villager. Lets go good guys.
Didn't really get a PM yet obviously. Was just a joke because of last game's board outages occuring during the PM stage and... err well nevermind. .... ... |
21 total entrants, edited 1st post and the above finalization post.
|
....quiet in the peanut gallery!
|
Quote:
What timezone are you in? I assume that would be 2pm for me then...;) |
For the record, Poli and I took care of business with the quickness. Draft results sent to Cronin.
Which means that I'm now done in this thread. Go wolves. |
Wolves suck.
I'm out. |
I'm in.
|
If there is still room, that is.

You can be an alternate, you just missed the cutoff. |

Ah well, was out of town all weekend. |
A nice big game, should be fun!

That's why I'm strongly in favor of late afternoon/evening deadlines. Not everyone has the luxury of being able to post at work. I actually don't really understand the benefit of a noon deadline at all. By the way, my wife hasn't even talked to me about the deadline thing (since I hardly see her, with me working nights and her working days/evenings), so it's not like she's complaining to me. I just really wish there was a deadline that assures that the vast majority of people can be at the deadline, and most people are around in the evening. My deadline was 9 pm EST, and we got great participation. Not trying to bitch and control your game, I just wanted to give my perspective. |
So how are roles assigned?
|
I disagree with schmidty.
I think we have just as many if not more people who are more active from work then home. |
Quote:
My preference probably is for mid-afternoon deadlines as well, as many nights I am unavailable.. however I think the most important deadline decision factor should be simply when the GM has the most time to be able to put into their game. |
Quote:
im all about work posting :) |
I haven't gotten a PM yet :-(
|
Quote:
Truth be told, I used that situation to help me decide my first two scans for the Arcane Collector in that game -- Alan and Telle. |
lol aaaah
|
Where is my PM!!!
|
Quote:
What a clever idea! |

So I guess the rest of us are just screwed? I mean, that puts people who don't have time to shirk actual work most of the day and simply play on the computer, or those who don't even have the opportunity to do so are just going to have to be at a disadvantage? That seems like favoritism, and an unwillingness to meet half way. I know my wife will think I'm being dramatic, and not drop out, but I think I'm probably going to withdraw. |
lets kick this pig....im itching for my post count to skyrocket!!
|
Quote:
I tend to agree with schmidty here. But I think it's up to the individual gm's for sure, and it's up to the players. If you can't be around at deadline so what...it's just a game. If that really affects your enjoyment then don't play that particular game. I know I won't be as active at deadline for certain, but i'm still going to play. If that gets me killed or whatever...so be it. |
nice edit schmidty
|
At least in the few games I have participated in, it usually seemed that each GM had their own way of handling the deadline and each game played to a different time area (some afternoon, some evening, so on, so forth) So maybe this game doesn't work for some and works better for others, almost guaranteed another game will work better for those people that this one sucks for (if that makes sense, heh)
|
I just called my wife, and I was right - She thinks I'm being a drama queen, so I'm staying in; however, I won't be very active. I'm at work from 11 pm - 7 am PST, and actually have a ton of time to post since my job duties take like 45 minutes total, so most of my posts will be when everyone else is asleep. Basically, I won't be able to banter/discuss/argue and such in real time, so don't be surprised if I'm UTR. I guess that's never a surprise with me anyway. :)
|
Quote:
I don't even remember what I said. Was it particularly bad? Also, does editing matter when the game hasn't even started? |
Quote:
i was actually being serious...i didnt really like your original post very much...i thought your edit got your point across much better...the first time, your point would have been lost in the drama that your comment created. |
dola, fwiw, i dont really care for the deadline, as I will be in the middle of my work day, and typically have client meetings in the middle of the afternoon, but that doesnt mean i am gonna not do as much as i can in the evenings, mornings, and over my lunch break
|
Quote:
Yeah, I guess calling Lathum a smelly vagina wouldn't have helped things. ;) |
I don't think editing before the game starts is bad. the time it was edited and the date are clearly visible
|
Quote:
I think that would help just about evferythign! |
so you're saying wolves have smelly vaginas??
*sniffs* |
My point wasn't to tell Schmidty how wrong he is, but to just say there are alot of people who would rather post from work then home, there will never be a deadline that is convienent for everyone, thats just the nature.

I don't know if I've ever been in a game were Chief Rum doesn't have all his posts in the middle of the night. Similar situation to a few people who have been on the other side of the world. I guess I've always seen it as 'buyer beware' regarding the deadline, but it would stink if there was never a game with a deadline that was good for you. |
yeah, no one is ever gonna be happy! the one I hate is 1o EST, right at bed time! do you stay up extra? or just check in the morning :(
|
Wasn't there an evening deadline last game? Did anyone complain about that?
|
I use the 10 eastern a lot because it's 9 for me and that, during the school year, is frequently the only time I know I'll be home.
|
Quote:
I think it was 9 pm for me, which is ET. That was fine, but I prefer afternoons just b/c of my work schedule...noon is the best, that is when I'm getting off work...but I know that isn't best for most people. If a game had a deadline I don't think I can be around for, I just skip that game. |
When we first started playing these games the deadline was 6:00 PM EST
|
Quote:
Really? Why is deadline such a big deal? |
Quote:
Ewwww. That's just about the one time I'm not online while awake. That's when I'm picking my son up and heading home for dinner. |
Quote:
It's just a preference for me, I like to be around during deadline in case a vote needs to be moved. |
Quote:
I live!! ;) |
No PM yet, but I hope Alan's not a wolf this game - his analysis could be very helpful from what I see. Plus, the game gets a little too quiet without him! So that's my vote, make Alan a villager
|
Quote:
What if you're a wolf? |
Quote:
dont worry about alan...if he is a wolf, i will let you all know, and if i die before he does, lynch him. (:D to alan) |
Man, I hate ww drama.
|
Would have loved to join. But, alas, real life must take priority. And the schedule really doesn't work for me. Have fun all. I'll probably just watch.
|
Quote:
Wuss ;) :D |
so we gonna get our PM's anytime?
|
Quote:
You don't have your PM already? |
Quote:
|
I'm composing pms now, also I'll have an updated rules post. I'm making a couple of minor changes. Please bear with me. :D
|
Quote:
Isn't that the whole point of the game? Of course, you're probably just being sarcastic. :) |
Quote:
I'm thinking we should have Schmidtys little title changed from "Pro Starter" to "Drama Queen" :D |
thats awesome

Roles and rules:
The village wins when all four wolves are eliminated. The wolves win when there are as many wolves as villagers left in the game, with one exception: If all that is left is one wolf and the Hunter, the villagers win. Villager roles Seer Fake Seer (thinks he's the seer, but isn't - revealed as seer upon death) Spy (can follow one player per night - if he follows the wolf making the kill, he can id the wolf) Bodyguard 2 Masons (no pm rights, and are not allowed to reveal upon pain of death) Duke Philosopher (scans for the cultist) Hunter (Villagers win if he is one of the last two players) Wolf roles Cunning wolf (scans as villager) Brutal wolf cultist (counts as a villager, wins with the wolves, knows the wolves but has no pm rights - selected by the wolf team) Sorceror (scans for the seer) Regular wolf Only the cunning wolf can kill any player - all other wolves may only kill a player who has voted for them at some point in the game. This only includes votes tabulated at the deadline. The wolves may kill 1 player per night. All pms are being sent out now. Vanilla villagers will get the following pm: Quote:
The first deadline is Wednesday, 3pm Eastern time. Pms are composed and being sent out right after this is posted. I will post again after they are sent out, and the game will begin then. Good luck, and have fun! Edit: When voting, PLEASE provide a blank line both above and below the vote, as well as bolding the vote. |
All pms are sent out! Game on!
|
Quote:
Interesting rule. I have never played in a game like that before. Seems like that will bring an interesting twist to who we all vote for. |
Checking in!
|
Im checking in as a villegar! and Im gonna try and not get lynched. so quiet is my game
|
Quote:
I don't like people who are under the radar the entire game. I might vote clap for being too quiet! :) |
villager checkong in
|
Just a basic villager for me.
I don't know if all of the roled characters were drafted first, but if so, i'm kind of offended. |

Villager checking in.

Vanilla villager checking in.

As an amateur hoopologist I am going to suggest he would pick someone like sndvls as his first pick. Therefore I am going to
Vote sndvls |
got my PM. had the same experience as Barkeep, which made me do a double-take and laugh till I realized CR wasn't running the WW game.
anyways...villager here offended that hoops didn't draft me for the wolves team (unless super-cool poli snatched me first). I think after the game the draft-order and who was what should be revealed. |
Quote:
sound thinking. Of course he could also have picked you! |
Vanilla villager checking in!
|
I think a good place to start would try and consider who Hoops would pick
