I don't NEED a recap (but your brevity is appreciated) ... I just want to know if I can safely skip the first hour. |
Quote:
Yeah the first show tonight is a recap |
Quote:
For Christ sake, enough already. You repeating this over and over is more annoying that Michael doing it. |
I have to wait until Friday to watch the new episode of Lost. The local ABC affiliate shows JP sports on Wednesday during the basketball season, so they are showing the recap episode tonight at 12:30, and the new episode late Thursday night. I wish there were two ABC stations in my area.

Quote:
Odd, I havent said that much or are you talking about the overall times this has been mentioned in the thread? |
I can't even fake interest in this tonight, but i'll force myself to watch. It's sad how far this show has fallen in my eyes.
|
I'd have to agre with you, cthomer. While I enjoy the show, the 3 week stopages and the dragging along of the story is getting old real quick. Reminds me of Dragon Ball Z. I'm almost expecting one episode of Lost to take up only 5 minutes of island time.
|
I haven't been able to watch much because of work...I'll get my fix in tomorrow, I hope (I'm attempting to tape it). A perfect world would be great and I could watch it now, but I've had a number of students come in with problems. Legit problems, but annoying.
I like this recap though. Kind of nice to see the tailies story laced into the main story. It gives a good timeline. |
Yeah, they're pretty much going to have to re-hook me all over again at this point. Just too many starts and stops. At least when Sci-Fi cuts up Stargate/BSG it's a dozen eps in a row, then a long-ass time off.

Sorry, bud. Maybe it's not necessarily you. It's just annoying as hell to see this repeated over and over again like it's funny (or ever was). My apologies. |
Note to self, don't make Eko mad.
|
Does anyone else listen to the Official Lost Podcast? I've been listening for the last few weeks.
|
I would if I could.
|
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?!?!?!?!
|
Echo is such a badass even the monster is afraid of him.
|
So the smoke makes the ground explode and has gears and eats people?
|
Frame by frame...lots of flashes of images from Eko's past. Makes sense why Locke believes what he does about the island and such.
Also, I was kind of hoping Charlie would tell Claire to slag off considering all the crap he (fictitously) did for her kid. And then make a dirty gesture. And then get the baby high. |
Too much work. I'll have to watch again tomorrow.
|

Are you talking about inside the smoke? There are images there, but I cannot make out what they are. People on Fark were saying that it showed some of the survivors but I'm not totally sold. |

I'm becoming a big fan of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
according to IMDB, he has a masters degree in Law and speaks with a British accent, which would probably freak me out more than hearing Naveen Andrews. |
Quote:
What does Naveen Andrews sound like? Canadian? |
Quote:
I feel I'm missing a joke here, but, at any rate, he's British. |
Quote:
No, you aren't. I had never heard him speak off the show. |
You're in luck, dd!

neat find. he didn't really break out the cockney accent until towards the end, but still rather freaky. |
I've liked the season so far, but its been a little slow, and with House getting even better the second season, I was ready to annoint House as my top show of the season. Not anymore. This episode alone made Lost #1 throughout the rest of the season. They could go all Brokeback Mountain on this show and I'd still watch... well maybe not, but it would still be better than 99% of the other stuff on.
Seriously though... WTF just happened, and do I really want to spoil the feeling by trying to find out? |
"Good" episode, not great. I'll watch again next week.
|
[Captain Bringdown]I despise this show. I watch it every single week (new episodes) because of my wife, but it is so.......gimmicky and lame. If you're going to manipulate the audience, at least give them a LITTLE idea as to what's going on. The "clues" in this show so far are so vague, they are basically dead-ends. As far as I'm concerned, the writers don't even know what the fuck is going on from week-to-week.
I have made a recent prediction. This show will go for about 3 more years, and when people finally get sick of the merry-go-round and the ratings drop, there will be a Twin Peaks-esque final episode where everything is vaguely (there's that word again) thrown together to give the audience a half-assed "explaination". Of course, there will still be another question *gasp* tossed in there to keep people forever guessing (and for shitty TV movies later). Did I mention that I hate this show?[/Captain Bringdown] |
Just watched the episode tonight and I REALLY enjoyed it. Eko is a freaking bad ass and I had to rewind the Tivo to make sure I did see images in the smoke the first time around.
Michael on the other hand is a real nut job. Not only does he go around screaming WALT!!!! But now he has a gun too. |
Quote:
Yea, I got that same feeling. I had the "oh no they didn't" moment a couple of times in the show. Especially when Eko stared down the smoke monster thing-a-ma-gig. |

Good episode.

Last night wasn't a night where my wife and I were excited that Lost was on. We watched, but we didn't consider it "Must-See TV." The show really drags. This is the first time we've actually seen the Hobbit more than three minutes per episode this season (not that that is necessarily a bad thing). I agree that the Walt storyline seems as if it's taking forever.
I didn't mind this flashback episode since at least it was on someone different. Do you think they'll ever have an entire epiosde without flashbacks? I doubt it since it's their Three's Company formula. |
What was the message on the screen from Walt when Jack walked in? It said don't something, but I couldn't catch it.
|
Quote:
They cut it off so you couldn't read it. I think it started "You c" or "I c" and that was all they showed. When Jack walked around the computer and stood behind Michael the screen was blank. |

Your rants are amusing. |
Quote:
I believe it started "You need to come-" |
Quote:
Well, I was close. :D I figured someone would have the still image by now. |
I actually haven't had near the problem getting back into the show after the layoff that I expected. Maybe that's because I've had so much occupying my time of late, but I was pumped about it finally starting again.
I thought last night's show was good, and I think overall this is one of the top few shows on television. I need to go back and watch the smoke, though, because I missed images. So does this mean there is no "beast" at all? That the thing that pulled the pilot out of the plane and thrashed him around was just this smoke? If that's the case, I suppose I'm a little letdown by it, but oh well... |
Quote:
I'm under the impression that the smoke is from the creature, like it is releasing it. Before the smoke went by Ecko, you could hear the other thing, and see it tearing trees up. I think they are related but two different things. |
Invisible machine that leaks black smoke containing images of the survivors.
Oh boy, I'm sure there's an explanation they can come up with for this but this is starting to go beyond polar bear in the jungle crazy. |
Quote:
Yeah, I hope this is the case... I'm hoping for some cool creature stuff at some point, and a cloud of smoke just doesn't do it for me. :) |
You guys all act like the flashbacks weren't a part of all of the epiosodes last year. You can feel free to hate the formula, but don't act like anything is different. We must of flashed back to Jack's life in about 4 different epiosodes. It's network television and IMO it's pretty high quality network television. If you give some people a $100 bill they will complain that you didn't give them 2-$50's.
|
Quote:
Well, it is pretty hard to break a $100 bill. |
personally, I think the flashbacks are the best part of the show.
the computer screen was either "you need to com..." or "you need to con..." I couldn't quite tell. I assume it's the former. |
I loved Eko's story line. Aside from all the geekboy clue hunt stuff, the flashbacks are the best part of the show.
Looking forward to the back story for hot pyschologist. |
If you watch the smoke when they pan through it, it has images of Ecko's life, like it was reading his mind. The question is, does it not harm you if you are good or does it not harm you if you are evil? Because if you remember at first when Locke saw it, it didn't do anything to him, but in the second season it tried to drag him down into the ground, did it change its mind about Locke?
I assume the conversation Michael is having with Walt is like Walts appearances in the jungle. Only some can see it. When Jack walked around and they showed the screen, it was blank, however, we never saw michael press a button or turn the screen off. So do you think the monster was created by those scientists somehow in one of those stations? |
