I think the modding here is generally terrible and had damaged the board, but it's really impossible to be consistent when it comes to this photo stuff. It's totally subjective and its based on posts getting reported. We know this. Maybe in your mind one photo is a million times "worse" than another photo that wasn't deleted but that's just subjective too, 10 people would have 10 different opinions on something like that. It is consistent in that photos are a thing that's heavily modded here. To me that's not close to as bad as banning someone for 6 months for making off-topic posts in a thread (when making off-topic posts has never been a banable offense)

Bottom line though, it's just dumb. A lot of fellas like it here, and to delete every photo with a pretty girl from one particular thread is weird. They're allowed in other threads, and .. well, it just doesn't make sense. It's not like people post nudes around here, and need strict governing.

As you say, everyone here is fairly smart, and we know what threads are what. It's not like people are getting tricked, and people click on the "War in North Korea" thread and you see hot girls in bikinis. People know what threads are "for work" and "for home". People know which threads they shouldn't check out if their boss is a tyrant, and they're afraid that at work they'll briefly have some cleavage on their screen while scrolling.

FWIW I got two weeks for posting the Taiwanese news video of Al Gore's harassment claim and was very surprised to find that I was boxed, no warning, nothing, and had never been boxed before for anything. So the whole "you know what you're doing thing" is not totally accurate. I didn't think the most recent picture was ANYTHING compared to things I've seen on this board - it was a woman in a bikini wearing a (sheer) dress OVER the bikini.

I guess it really boils down to 1) who are the posters on the board you have most valued; 2) is their activity is what it used to be; and 3) if it is not, is that the fault of the mods.

Whatever my answers for 1 and 2 are, 3 is a solid "no."

It's pretty easy to stay out of a thread. It's more difficult to, say, post when you've been banned for posting a photo or making an off-topic post. That's an actual practical thing that impacts that board. The mods are concerned with people complaining and disagreeing (which can be annoying, I agree), but don't seem to have any concerns for actual practical issues.

Maybe to be safe just post pictures of Amish women in traditional garb.

Well, to ensure the image is kept, they need to be in traditional garb with a dog dry humping them while they twirl around roadkill...that way the image stays...
