Ser Davos usually isn't available until evening, so I'm guessing it will go quicker if you send one of yours.
(checking on my people's availability this afternoon)
To anyone waiting on a response from me - waiting for a couple extra tidbits from George before I reply.
Theon Greyjoy has returned to the House Stark fold!
The once Enemy of the Realm, Theon Greyjoy, has returned to House Stark and King Robb Stark has accepted his fealty and service. Theon is now a bannerman of House Stark. He and King Robb Stark contributed enough to cleanse Theon of his dishonor as an Enemy of the Realm. |
Emissary en route, Stannis.
Tyrion Lannister has fled King's Landing!
Responding to recent reports that Lord Varys is following his own script, The Imp has decided to take his show on the road! He has fled to the mountains around the Vale with his swordsman Bronn and prostitute/mistress Shae, and he has called for the aid of his Mountain Men allies. They have joined him to give him an army, one which cannot be captured. He is eligible to be recruited as a bannerman. He has no land of his own. |
Interesting.
Smoke signals from scouts along the path from Winterfell to Dragonstone indicate that a Stark banner has been sighted on its way to see visit with King Stannis.
I'm disappointed, but hardly surprised, to hear that Tyrion's prostitute/mistress was among his most prized possessions.

FEEDBACK TIME
I am leaning toward moving the deadline to tomorrow afternoon, simply because there have been some key changes to the mechanics in the Favored of the Realm, Danny's new role, an expanded role internally for Cersei and the coming war. I would prefer everyone have the time to digest it, but I suppose seven hours isn't really that short of time, especially without a vote needed today. So I will take feedback from the village on whether they would like to keep the deadline tonight or move it to tomorrow (same early time, 5 p.m. EST/2 p.m. PDT). |
I'm cool with it staying as is. We need more war.
Dragonstone scouts have found King Renly's missing army! No wonder it took them so long--they're not even at a Storm's End land!
In the irony of all ironies, King Renly has retreated to the former Dragonstone land Maidenpool, which has been in his possession since the Battle of Cape Wrath. And there at Maidenpool, King Renly awaits King Stannis and his amassed army and fleet. WAR WILL BE JOINED AT MAIDENPOOL AT THE DEADLINE. |
[ooc] I'm fine leaving it where it is, but I won't be very active up until after the deadline, last late shift of the week woo. [/ooc]
I'm going to try and be more active with my new role (though wont be on much until I come home from work. My old role left little for me to do or worry about, though i actually had a plan for later in the game to help achieve my win conditions. Now thats changed and I have some more to do.
So Woo me like you would woo a four breasted woman |
Id prefer a postponed deadline personally
(I'm okay either way.)

Ditto. |
Selfishly I vote for whatever gives me the most entertainment.
(You all are putting on a show for me to watch right??) :) |
Either is fine with me, but given a couple of the players with new roles asking for extensions that is probably the way to go.
As of right now, I believe I will be postponing the deadline.
While most have been fine with the deadline tonight, two of the key voters whose roles changed a little or expanded (Danny and Narcizo) would like it extended. I'll wait for more feedback, but that's what I am thinking right now. |
Quote:
Although I don't want to spoil other people's fun. I'm fine if people want to get to the battle today. |
[ooc] postponed is fine by me [/ooc]
As far as deadline goes I'm fine either way since I'm likely not going to be around at either one. :)
In totally unrelated news, putting a yard sale together sucks worse than the Battle of Cape Wrath or whatever the hell that place was. |
(ooc I should point out that the raven I sent recently was sent before I became aware of my changed role. However it is still valid).
When we did an estate sale for my Mom's stuff a couple years ago, that experience was downright painful, and I'm not talking about any personal attachment stuff. It was a huge PITA, and that was before the "bargainers" even showed up.
I don't care what time this war goes down. I will be out looking for a new sheath for my sword until then.
Quote:
Yeah, this is partly estate from my brother-in-law who died last fall and partly 10 years of accumulation at the same house. ms.path had to take some time to figure out what to keep and what to sell. |
[ooc] Postponing is fine. I don't mind the game being drawn out since I have such a busy work schedule, but that's from my selfish POV. [/ooc]
I think Robb had better keep you on a leash this time around, Theon.
Quote:
Apparently, Tyrion already joined us, under a different name. |
A man received a raven. He will have a reply later.
I'm just seriously looking for a good sheath. What good is a nice blade if you don't house it in a fine sheath?
[ooc] i'm holding my reply-ravens until later tonight given the extension of the deadline. thinking like...10pm at least...because my sister is in town from out of town and idk what time i'll get home [/ooc]
Join me in Maidenpool, Theon, and you can sheathe it in a soldier or two.
Quote:
I shall be keeping an eye on you Lord Theon. I hope that we can find a good use for your sword at some time in the near future. |
We have a deadline verdict?
Quote:
Yes we do. The deadline for DAY EIGHT is hereby extended to 5 p.m. EST/2 p.m. PDT on FRIDAY. |
It appears that the Wolf banner is now headed back to Winterfell from meetings with King Stannis.
I think we can all agree that Chief is the best.
Thanks!
I still have a shit ton to improve on, though... (like figuring out how to get PMs out faster! lol...) |
Quote:
Even at war I will agree with you on that. He has done a helluva job. I've barely been able to keep everything straight after two weeks and that is just playing. Can't imagine running the damn thing. |
I feel like the prettiest girl at the ball today.
Kiss Kiss
I will also add this, whichever faction I choose to join will have my full support and your desired outcomes will certainly be consistent with mine
Quote:
Do not make me post baby pictures, Tyrion. |
I believe it is time to study the facts, as they stand today.
Stark - 5 1/5 votes Dragonstone - 4 1/2 votes Storm's End - 4 votes Greyjoy - 3 1/2 votes Lannister - 2 votes Tyrion - 1 or 1 1/2 vote 4 Neutrals - 1/2 apiece 22 1/2 or 23 votes total If there is war then that total will drop by either 1 or 1 1/2 today and will be rearranged depending on who is captured. What is clear to me is that the favoured of the realm provide a huge advantage to their liege. I wonder if my brother is similarly favoured as the Onion Knight, the Iron Woman and the fat oaf. If so then he provides an uncontestable advantage. Should he side with Stark then I cannot see how the rest would have any choice but to unify against the North. If you care for our father Tyrion then I would ask you not to ally yourself with the Starks. Your presence would undoubtedly draw the votes of the whole of Westeros on the bannermen of Stark. I would imagine Theon would be the first to be executed but our father would, in all probability, be the next recipient of that vote. |
Theon, what are you playing at? I do hope you're behaving. I wouldn't want to have to waste a raven on you today.
What are you playing at, dear Cersei? Obviously you have a larger bit to play than mere political commentary.
At the risk of repeating myself the Lannisters repay their debt. I am currently attempting to repay my first debt and, as always, advance my own aims. I shall be in touch later today so there is no need for hasty decisions just at the moment.
I would remind anyone with passing interest in my council that I shall be unavailable later today. (ooc about 3pm EST to give me the chance to react). |
Quote:
I am seeking what I always have sought since this story began. It is possible that I have more means available to me now but my aim remains the same. I leave the political commentary/messenger errands to Lord Varys. |
I sent you a raven yesterday, I think, Cersei, and have not heard back.
Quote:
I am not aware that I am at your beck and call Lord Stannis. As I mentioned at the time any messages sent late to me yesterday arrived too late for me to reply to them. I have my debt to pay off before I can give you my full consideration. |
I was simply informing you, as apparently several ravens have been lost in the crossing. I did not see your message saying you had messages you had not replied to. It seems your debt comes with an increase in attitude.
Quote:
This made me think that you were urging people to contact you soon, not to wait at your leisure. |
The Stark banner has been seen passing through the Twins. It appears that an emissary is on his way to King's Landing and King Joffrey.
What am I playing at? I've been a victim of fate, or at best an unwitting accomplice. My head was in the hands of Robb Stark, and he has seen it fit to allow it to remain attached to my body in exchange for my services. He's an honorable man who kills only when necessary, as can be seen by taking a quick look at his dealings with Tywin Lannister, a man who no one expected to be in such a position after what happened to Eddard and Bran.
My desire is to live freely and die honorably and there is nowhere I am able to do that in greater capacity than with Robb. I'll bathe my sword in the blood of the men who would seek to kill him for personal gain. |
Kind of a big day. No one around?
I am here. I would not miss the chance to see one or other of the forces that would ganged up on my son be motally wounded.
I'm here. I'm just out birds.
of birds.
I have now heard from all four kingdoms. I have to say, I am less than impressed with two of you, but two of you have my ear.
Forgive me brother but are there not five houses currently pursuing the crown? I guess Joffrey has absented himself from the race.
I suppose you are in no hurry Lord Tyrion?
hah! I would rather be a bannerman for a wild pack of sheep than that smuck Joffrey.
I certainly wouldn't be wanting to commit myself before learning the result of the coming battle.
Quote:
Only two are pursuing the Iron Throne. Two are pursuing independence and the last is trying to maintain order. Unless we are talking about the Targaryan girl. Then I'd be worried Cersei even if you both tend to sway both ways |
Quote:
So you are joining the Ironmen? |
Quote:
I am confused. Which house is maintaining order? I presume that would be Joffrey - the rightful king of Westeros? I thought the Ironmen were seeking to convert us all to their dreary, aquatic god. |
Quote:
I cannot speak for Joffrey, but I would imagine that would be his goal. You do not do him many favors however. I also do not speak for the Ironmen. |
You come back now, Karstark?
I have not heard a response yet
Ah.
Quote:
That seems to be exactly what you were presuming to do my lord. Regarding Joffrey I am surprised but pleased to hear the Hand of Robb Stark admit that Joffrey is the rightful owner of the throne. |
Quote:
You presume continue to presume too much. I was merely speaking as to who currently sits on the Iron Throne. |
Strike the first presume...haha
Quote:
My task has some solid news however. I will relay it once my current task is complete. |
I am around now, don't worry your rightful king who has no one to call him so is back ;)

As to avoid confusion, fixed |
There is a vote in 25 minutes right?
It's a quiet evening in the hills near Cracklaw Point.
A large contingent of King Stannis's army has settled down for the night, on the road from Duskendale to their destiny with fate at Maidenpool. The fires die down to a low ember, and the volume of voices with them. The men have mostly settled down to sleep, knowing another hard day's march awaits them on the morrow. A coursing wind from out in Blackwater Bay to the east brings the small of salt to the air... and hides the approach of quiet feet. With bloodcurdling screams and hollers, all of a sudden the rocks and scrubby hills around the encampment come alive with motion! Arrows whistle through the air, sentries falling clutching fletchings jutting out from their breastbones and gullets. Dark forms run trhough the camp, as Stannis's men start to stumble awake. The sounds of men dying fill the air. Battle-hardened men wake quickly wehn death comes calling, so it is not long before the men of Dragonstone have gathered their wits and started to strike back. A small contingent of the raiders run toward the supply tent, where Stannis's treasury wagon lies. The guards are quickly killed, but before the raiders can break down the wagon door, Stannis's men are upon them! They drive them back! The raiders are suddenly away, faster than they charged on the attack. Stannis's men made to follow before the commander called them back. He could already see these raiders would not be found. They know the land too well. KING STANNIS HAS BEATEN OFF A SNEAK ATTACK FROM THE MOUNTAIN MEN ALLIED TO TYRION LANNISTER!!! |
Quote:
No. The vote is suspended for Day Eight, and will start again for Day Nine. |
Well that was unexpected.
Tyrion shows his allegiance already. A surprising move if not a wise one.
Well this is all very exciting unfortunately I shall have to retire to my chambers. I find myself thankful that the imp has left the keep. One presumes that Stannis' approaches were one of the ones that did not pass muster.
Politely asking questions is not his way, it seems.
Well, the die will soon to be cast for the realm. Anyone who chooses to put themselves into this battle risks losing a bannerman, and I can only hope that the penalty goes to those who deserve it. We will all certainly learn who can be trusted.
Alea iacta est.
The watery depths shall feast upon salted blood and flesh tonight.
WAR!
War will be joined today at Maidenpool. The last chance for retreat or surrender is gone to either side. King Renly and his host gathers in the fortifications around Maidenpool, and King Stannis's men gather upon the scrubby hills ringing the town. Battle will soon be joined. But will only two banners flutter in the wind today? |
The banners of House Baratheon of Storm's End fly over Maidenpool, and King Renly's mighty host has marched out upon the fields in front and about the town. The ships of Storm's End's fleet, a not insignificant number, sail back and forth in formation in Maidenpool's harbor, deep inside the Bay of Crabs.
King Stannis's men march out in tight formation, and make their way to their own line, just out of arrow shot. Battle will be joined shortly. A massive fleet flying the Dragonstone colors sails somberly closer to the gathered Storms' End ships. Its size is formidable. A call cries out from the crow's peak atop Ser Davos Seaworth's lead ship, pointing out sails from further out in the Bay of Crabs! A lot of sails... the Drowned Man has arrived. House Greyjoy comes to fight--for whom does King Balon bring his unmatched fleet? At nearly the same time, scouts for both of the armies afield have come before their Kings as well. Men from the west... the Young Wolf approaches. The armies shift to meet these new approaches. From whence will attack come, and upon whom? At long last the brillint trilling of horns announces the last arrival. It had been thought they would sit this one out. But, no, at the end, the red and gold lions are riding, coming up from King's Landing! But will they stand beside Dragonstone... or fall upon them, swords seeking blood? |
No one sits on the sidelines
Well, here goes the neighborhood.
Renly calls for aid...who will answer?
Hey... I was fishing in the Bay of Crabs ya jerks.
Thanks for ruining my day. |
This will be interesting
Quote:
I needed to get in the action a little, you happened to be the one who dismissed me the most before I came into my army. I still have things up my sleeve |
I wouldn't think you would prefer a fawning fake, Tyrion. I don't recall giving you any offense, but I certainly prefer to speak plainly. I hope that you have more to offer the realm than highway robbery attempts.
It seems all the realm has a stake in this battle. We shall see where you line up.
Quote:
Lord Tyrion, I cannot answer until tomorrow. |
The battle lines are drawn, and now everyone knows who will fight whom.
King Renly and King Robb Stark stand side by side, and the Ironborn warriors have joined them with King Balon. Among this mighty host of some 125000 men plus mercenaries are a wealth of Storm's End, Stark and even Lannister banners, courtesy of Tywin Lannister. As always, Brienne of Tarth stands ready to add her battlefield prowess to the mix, and this time, Robb Stark's wolf Greywind fights beside her. King Joffrey leads his formidable host next to Stannis's Dragonstone men. Even with an immense number of Lannister men, loyal to the current holder of the Iron Throne, there is but 65000 men plus mercenaries. Out on the sea, Dragonstone's fleet has been joined by Lannister, and it is sizable, with nearly 200 ships. But that is not nearly enough to meet the great force before them--dominated by the immense Greyjoy ships, the fleet for Storm's End numbers three ships for every two of Dragonstone's. It seems that King Stannis and King Joffrey have picked a fight with a much larger opponent than anticipated. |
