so is there a vote today or is that the 1700 deadline tomorrow

MrBug708 05-23-2013 07:55 PM

Tomorrow

path12 05-23-2013 10:04 PM

King Robb, your envoy does you devoted service. I offered him a bottle of Arbor wine that he plans to bring you instead. I hope you will not think it unseemly that I sent him another for himself.

path12 05-23-2013 10:05 PM

And a note that I will be absent for awhile but back later this evening.

no wonder this seems confusing....

mauchow 05-23-2013 11:50 PM

I was sitting on the shores thinking about the perfect bait...and then I chuckled when I remembered Varys has no penis. Oh the lonely times.

A woman with dragons sounds interesting though.

Back to penises.. I do wonder if half man has a half penis. Tyrion, care to divulge?

This old man needs to find something to do.

hoopsguy 05-23-2013 11:57 PM

I wonder if Renly sent Ser Selmy some of that Arbor wine as well?

Is this what I have to look forward to when I get older?

(ooc: Just checked in before going to bed. Saw this post, burst out laughing, got strange looks...)

murrayyyyy 05-24-2013 12:12 AM

I think its been a pretty good night myself. Then again last night ended horribly.

path12 05-24-2013 12:48 AM

(ooc) I really hate to admit this in public, but after going to the gym on the way home I sat down and dealt with my werewolf game PM's, did stuff around the house and then separated and sorted my new Strat-O-Matic 1964 baseball player cards while thinking of this game and it struck me.

When did I become such a dork? I don't have a problem with it really, I just wonder when it happened. Now I realize why the hip yet inclusive ms.path looks at me the way she does. (/ooc)

path12 05-24-2013 12:49 AM

To either of my emissaries: if a raven is necessary go for it.

Dear me, it is rather late. My raven may have to wait for the morning. Night all.

path12 05-24-2013 01:10 AM

Good night all.

MrBug708 05-24-2013 01:17 AM

[ooc] After early morning activity, I won't be around much this weekend as I'll be in Norcal most of memorial day, coming back Monday. [/ooc]

I wouldn't say more than anything else. I can think of several things I desire more. And Hand to which King? It would be nice to have access to someone not always deep in their cups though. Should any person wish to send me a raven I might have interesting information to offer. Dependent on who it is asking, naturally. I grow tired of being the pariah of Westeros.

That of course, does not mean I have to systematically slaughter everyone bearing a Lannister name. I'm no murderer.

I meant what do you intend to do specifically today. You are unable to remove Joffrey from the throne today as far as I can tell. Do you intend to chase my father into the waiting arms of Lord Renly? Or perhaps my father will choose to throw himself at the mercy of my son and be retained. Then what?

Further, have you considered what will happen on the morrow, when there are no more Lannister bannerman to brand an enemy of the state? The laws require someone be found guilty, which entails that you shall have to vote for a Baratheon bannerman. I am afraid that your temporary alliance is going to prove more short-lived than you would have hoped. Of course the willful disregard all kings have shown for the letter of the law means that the threat of banishment is as empty as the Imp's wine flagon at the end of the night. But the liege of the bannerman you choose to call a traitor may not see it that way.

Even further, tomorrow you may declare war on Joffrey. Will you do so? And risk the life of one of your bannermen, leaving yourself at a disadvantage compared to your foes? (because however much you may try to convince others and yourself, foes is what they are). I would presume that war will also weaken your own armies. Do you wish to leave yourself exposed in that fashion? But how else will you evict Joffrey from his throne?

Narcizo 05-24-2013 05:53 AM

Regarding the law of treason

Quote:

If the Bannerman throws himself on the mercy of his King, the King will decide his fate. If the King chooses to kill him, the bannerman will be beheaded and be out of the game. All of his assets will go to the King (including any family land). If the King chooses to disavow him, the effect will be the same as above. If the King chooses to have mercy on him and keep him in his faction, everything remains the same, except the King will take an honor hit, which remain for as long as that bannerman is a member of the faction.

This suggests that the dishonour brought on a king by failing to respect the law is cumulative. If my lord Stannis, for example, keeps the red sorceress in his service he shall suffer for it EVERY DAY.

So, my lords Bolton and Tyrell, witch and brother. You should all be aware that you are now, like as not, the most expendable among your liege's bannermen. Every day you are in the service of your king it sets back his cause. Think on that fact.

And my liege's - remember who has caused this situation through his unwillingness to publically commit himself.

I will suggest that up to this point, being the Hand of King Joffrey is not as glamorous as it might sound. Ruling the seven kingdoms? Ha! If a single person I talked to had any interest in serving their king rather than plying me away from him that would be a delightful turn of events.

MrBug708 05-24-2013 09:29 AM

I cannot post much here, but I'll leave the first vote. As he is already an enemy of the realm, I cannot pass judgement further on the unrighteous and monstrous Kingslayer. So I continue onto his next best thing. The woman he loves. Perhaps this will be a pain in his heart that will start his grieving process

Vote - Cersei Lannister/Narizco

MrBug708 05-24-2013 09:30 AM

The indignation she showed for her late husband, the horrible son she raised, and the fact she tries to rule as Queen regent when her son is obviously old enough to rule for himself.

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 09:32 AM

I don't think you can vote for neutrals.

MrBug708 05-24-2013 09:50 AM

Re-reading the rules, you are correct :(

Unvote - Cersei

MrBug708 05-24-2013 09:56 AM

Only one other way to go

Vote - Tywin Lannister/Hoopsguy

Hopefully the Kingslayer has love in his heart for his father so that this will hurt him greatly.

hoopsguy 05-24-2013 10:16 AM

As a reminder for House Stark - there are in fact two other houses besides Lannister. It is allowed to vote for one of those houses, if only to enjoy some level of variety in life.

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 10:18 AM

I'm very glad I didn't read that when I had a mouthful of coffee. :)

As the Warlord of Coffee, I'm surprised a moment passes where this is not the case.

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 10:32 AM

This grows tiresome. Robb, will you please lop off his head already?

path12 05-24-2013 10:53 AM

To my emissaries -- I'd love to have you back by mid-morning or so Pacific time so that we can coordinate.

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 10:54 AM

Maybe things work differently in Joffrey's court, but my people are free to speak their mind.

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 11:09 AM

King Renly, were you to have a raven not already assigned to other tasks, it would be useful to send it to the North, that I might attach a message back.

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 11:11 AM

'Cause the Olds Gods know, what this game needs is more PM's.

Who shall I vote for? Melisandre? Enemies of the realm cannot be voted for, as I just discovered!

It has been dispatched.

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 11:21 AM

I'm waiting for my Hand to return from his tortu...er, his pony grooming studio, will return it with a letter enclosed after we've chatted.

I thought it was neutral characters that could not be voted, my Lord.

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 11:25 AM

I didn't think we could vote people who were already enemies, either. That would seem sort of silly.

mauchow 05-24-2013 11:26 AM

I have a feeling I will be fishing amd knitting for a long time..and cracking offensive jokes like old men do.

I have been hearing that this dragon mother has a nice set of knockers.

Autumn 05-24-2013 11:27 AM

Actually I was wondering that. If an Enemy has been retained by their King can they then be voted again?

Coffee Warlord 05-24-2013 11:29 AM

Guess we wait on Chief for that one. Be very surprised if the answer was anything but 'no', though.

"You're an enemy of the realm! Now you're even MORE of an enemy of the realm! No no, we REALLY mean it this time!"

Autumn 05-24-2013 11:30 AM

I agree, but I can also see that if the King has evaded the issue, essentially, they could be forced to make the choice again. I think you're right, but it would make sense to be sure.

path12 05-24-2013 11:35 AM

If not though wouldn't we just keep any bannermen voted out as long as we either wanted to take the honor hit or could afford to buy it off? That seems odd too.

Chief Rum 05-24-2013 12:15 PM

The Stark bannerman has left Storm's End to return to his King.

Chief Rum 05-24-2013 12:17 PM

The streaming pennant of House Baratheon of Storm's End is no longer flying at Dragonstone. It appears that King Renly's emmissary is returning to Storm's End.

(ooc I agree. I presumed that you could not accuse an enemy of the state of being an enemy of the state again (they are listed on the first page as Enemies of the State) but it is possible).
