Close games. I don't know if you can call shooting under 40% good games. It's just really bad basketball that is close and in a high drama game.

Young Drachma 03-20-2009 11:04 PM

That was so clutch, man. Way to go Siena to hang in there.

Danny 03-20-2009 11:05 PM

Good to see some exciting end of game and overtime basketball.

True. Went to the IU-Wisconsin game. Wisconsin played one great half, and one damn ugly half.

Still, love to see them pull this off. Give the Big Ten some love, and give the ACC a 3-4 record in the tourney.

The rest of the ACC continues year after year to prove that it is little more than UNC, Duke and a bunch of shit since Maryland won their title. I'm rooting for any of these teams to step up and take a step foward and year after year they all fail, no one can put together anything decent for more than 1 year at a time as far as postseason performance. Its very frustrating as someone who has loved the ACC for 30 years.

sterlingice 03-20-2009 11:06 PM

Finally, this last slate of games has started to save a weak 1st round.

We get our first real upset with Cleveland State demolishing Wake. And now an OT and 2OT game, both with awesome 3 pointers in the last minute.

I'll give you that. This OSU-Siena game has been very sloppy in stretches, but that OT was pretty good. Talk about a clutch shot.

CBS is killing me going back and forth.

Too bad whoever wins this one will be spent for a fast Louisville team.

FSU would be a big surprise if they lost to what is really a subpar Wisconsin team. They looked like the best of the rest from that conference.

Speaking of second tier teams though, I've been impressed by the Pac-10 teams, especially since they weren't expected to do much.

Wouldn't have surprised me in the least. Every bracket I did had Wisconsin and it wasn't because I thought the Badgers were a great team.

ColtCrazy 03-20-2009 11:13 PM

I hate it when coaches overthink things. 7 seconds left, Ryan should have let his guys do something.

Young Drachma 03-20-2009 11:15 PM

He had enough control to push it back into the court.

Looks like a good decision now.

RainMaker 03-20-2009 11:15 PM

Why can't CBS do split-screens? They used to do that and it solves the problem.

mauchow 03-20-2009 11:15 PM

FUCK YEAH! FUCK YOU DOUGLAS!!

YANKING ON HUGHES' JERSEY AT THE END ! BOOM !!! AND ONE!!

Young Drachma 03-20-2009 11:15 PM

Win or lose, Siena has played a very impressive game.

JonInMiddleGA 03-20-2009 11:16 PM

Question: Anybody here that would have dared to miss that FT intentionally?

LOL Did that guy even see the basket???? What a shot. Finally, the last 30 minutes is why I like the opening round of the tourney.

JonInMiddleGA 03-20-2009 11:17 PM

Siena FT's are hurting them, that's a couple of big misses in crunch time, makes it even harder for the underdogs when that happens.

Young Drachma 03-20-2009 11:17 PM

Looked like a foul to me, I'm surprised they called it. He was moving his arms a lot.

Not as useful since Ohio State had a timeout

As a coach, I would have. With 2 seconds, it's a 3 they'll have to shoot so you'd lose either way if they hit it. I'd have missed it deliberately.

mauchow 03-20-2009 11:18 PM

BOOM MOTHERFUCKERS!!! WISCONSIN ADVANCES!

Noop 03-20-2009 11:18 PM

Disappointed

I think he meant the Florida State game.

sterlingice 03-20-2009 11:18 PM

That was ballsy- trying to trap there

SI

ColtCrazy 03-20-2009 11:18 PM

Go Badgers!!!!! Great win.

mauchow 03-20-2009 11:18 PM

SIENNA< HOLY SHIT!

cmp 03-20-2009 11:19 PM

Wow. Great shot.

Noop 03-20-2009 11:19 PM

Siena is your Cindy team this year.

Karlifornia 03-20-2009 11:19 PM

HOLY SHIT!!! SIENA AGAIN! SAME GUY!!!!

Young Drachma 03-20-2009 11:19 PM

I'm all for ACC teams losing.

Good point, although I like taking away the ability to move on the inbound plus you've always got a chance to get the rebound yourself or at least tip it around & run off more clock.

ColtCrazy 03-20-2009 11:19 PM

It's like each game is trying to one up the other. Amazing shot by Siena.

Young Drachma 03-20-2009 11:19 PM

Ronald Moore is no joke.

Normally I'm not but my bracket needed all the help it could get (as usual).

sterlingice 03-20-2009 11:20 PM

Still not over yet

SI

JonInMiddleGA 03-20-2009 11:20 PM

Plenty of time for Ohio State here though.

Radii 03-20-2009 11:21 PM

Just completely embarrassing for Florida State. You get a Wisconsin team that couldn't even break 60 points while losing 3 of their last 5 games, hold them to 19 points in the first half and take what should be an insurmountable lead against such a shitty offensive team, and fall all over yourselves getting them back into it in 5 minutes in the 2nd half.

sterlingice 03-20-2009 11:21 PM

I have to say it again- finally, this is what March madness is all about!

SI

Young Drachma 03-20-2009 11:21 PM

Way to go Siena.

RainMaker 03-20-2009 11:21 PM

Gutsy game by Siena. Winning on the road and hitting some huge shots. I love it!

ColtCrazy 03-20-2009 11:22 PM

Okay, if the Big Ten had to lose one and win one in these last two, at least they got the teams right. :)

Listen how quiet that stadium is. I hope Siena gives Louisville a run for their money.

Radii 03-20-2009 11:22 PM

also, so much for "home court advantage" for Ohio State. Great finish to the night and great win for Siena.

Young Drachma 03-20-2009 11:23 PM

And gotta love the 12 v. 13 game, even if it is an undeserving Arizona squad that got in with that seed in the first place, a win says they at least made it worthwhile.

mauchow 03-20-2009 11:23 PM

Okay. I'm going to be up all night.

Great game from Douglas. Wow, he was fun to watch. Frustrating as a Badger fan as we don't have a player like him this year. Great game and I'm so happy right now.

Thomkal 03-20-2009 11:24 PM

woohoo, thank you Siena and Wisconsin! :)
