Yup, gotta go with the cat. Soccer should either, get rid of 3 or 4 players on each side or the goalie is not allowed to use his hands either. |

Or have Playboy Bunnies pillow fighting in both nets... |
A bigger net would help a lot.

On either side of midfield, for 10 yards each way, have a gasoline fire. Talk about the fast break you'd see the really fast break.

It was a Brisco County Jr. reference. Bravo. |

Yea Bitch! don't fuck with tmnt. Radical, Duda, Awesome, Excellent, Tubular, Bossa Nova! But the best was: Cowabunga!!!!

Hell yeah man. I was a huge TMNT fan as a kid. I watched practically every episode. I lived with 2 little cousins at the time too...one was in kindergarten and the other was in second grade. It was awesome, we collectively had almost every toy figure out there, including the big-ass Technodrome. We'd play with those things for hours. I bet if I watched either one of the first two movies now I'd actually understand them a hell of a lot better then a did back then too.

Took this picture of my television yesterday afternoon. I laughed pretty hard when they revealed the letter under "SUCK." The whole audience and set of contestants and host had a moment of sort of uncomfortable laughter, too.

People bitch and moan about how soccer doesn't have enough scoring and is too slow. Many of these people who supposedly want action in their sports think arena football is a joke, though.
Fuck you people sideways. All of you. |

Or better yet, find watching baseball enjoyable. |

I don't think there's not enough scoring, just not enough scoring chances. When you play 90+ minutes and there are less than 10 true shots on goal, that's a problem. The score is just the outward sign of the real problem. Soccer isn't active enough for a game with a clock. Baseball is a totally different animal, not comparable at all. In the US, when a sport turns into a passive, boring, "we're not going to try to score" game, we do something about it (see baketball in the 4-corners era). The rest of the world celebrates soccer. I know what side I choose. |

Here's why the baseball comparison is so off-base.
First, baseball has no clock and is designed as a leisurely-paced game. A game with time restraints that allows participants to so easily control ball possession and limit the opponents (and their own) opportunities to score is a flawed design to start with, IMO. It's one of the reasons why I prefer baseball over even football, because the ends of football games can turn into soccer-like stall tactics. But at least football has a 4-downs rule that forces the action to some extent. You keep gaining 10 yards every 3 or 4 plays, you deserve to run the clock down. Soccer has nothing like that, and it's just excerbated with high skill level teams, IMO. You come watch my team play, and our league is more exciting simply because most of us aren't skilled enough to be able to keep possession to run out the clock with a 1 goal lead. Second, in contrast to soccer, while the action is slow-developing and sporadic in baseball, the game's design forces teams to try to score, at the risk of being out-scored - by way of the pitcher/hitter match-up. You can score 1 run and make the decision that 1 run is all you need to win, but the other team is guaranteed an equal chance to score. There is no "we've scored 1 goal so now all we have to do is sit back, hold the ball, and deprive the other team of opportunities to score while the clock runs out" mechanism in baseball. To be fair, that is a strategy, and a good/smart one in a game like soccer, but it doesn't necessarily translate to an enjoyable entertainment experience as a spectator. |
