Until she grows her hair back out I'm afraid I'd rather look at the masculine women over at ESPN today. :(

I know that's not Ally Sheedy, but I'm drawing a blank otherwise.

dunno, i think the short hair works for her in a way. Not that itīs better, but itīs not worse ;)

Toddzilla 10-05-2011 04:00 PM

Emma has yet to cross the threshold from cute/pretty to hot for me.

Unlike Selena Gomez who blew past that line at supersonic speed about X years ago.

Danny 10-05-2011 04:54 PM

The short hair is worse, women should not try and look like little boys

Toddzilla 10-05-2011 05:00 PM

little boys don't have full and exclusive rights to short hair.

Danny 10-05-2011 05:08 PM

Barring health related reasons, they should, but whatever floats your boat ;)

Since little boys don't have shapely asses and breasts, I think there's plenty of critical differences such that hair length isn't a deal-breaker.

dawgfan 10-05-2011 05:18 PM

Dola -

I do generally prefer longer hair on women though...

True, but I don't see a whole of curves on Hermine.

JediKooter 10-05-2011 05:20 PM

Lets be honest here, very very very few women can pull off having short hair and still look hot.

She's not the curviest in the world, but she's pretty attractive.

jeff061 10-05-2011 05:24 PM

Ill say it, I dig the short hair on her and I'm not her biggest fan.

JediKooter 10-05-2011 05:25 PM

I'd grab her by the short hairs and I'd...wait, wrong thread. Sorry.

MrBug708 10-05-2011 06:22 PM

I agree that there are better pictures of her than the short haired one. I also agree that short haired girls can look hot. The combination of the two in that shot was bad

Danny 10-05-2011 06:29 PM

Some of those women are still hot with short hair, but all of them are even hotter with at least medium length, if not long hair.

MJ4H 10-05-2011 06:30 PM

Don't like girls with short hair.

Sorry.

Buccaneer 10-05-2011 07:17 PM

I agree that I like Emma with longer hair (as I prefer such), but under the right lighting she can look hot with short hair, as whomario proved.

I think this is what they mean on Seinfeld on the episode where they talked about "bad naked."

Watering the lawn is definitely "good naked" though.

Second time today I had to google someone that I didn't know.

This time, it was Lolo Jones. Very beautiful photo in that and some great ones online.

The first? Was making a power point earlier and had looked up images of Indiana. Indiana Evans kept popping up. Well worth the google there too.

I've been aware of this debate since I was 15 years old at a wedding and an (older, female) cousin tried arguing that guys found her more attractive once she shaved off her hair. My opinion is that beauty trumps all, and an amazingly hot girl will look great regardless how much hair she has (Example A: Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta). On the flip side, for the 99% of girls that aren't perfect, long hair can cover up many, many imperfections, and has never made a girl look worse. In Emma Watson's case, she's certainly still a 1 with short hair, but (as in almost every girl's case) she looks better with long hair.

There's one of those where the girl is freaking out but the guy is staring straight at it with a slight smile on his face. Not sure what they're looking at, but I vote him most likely to be a serial killer.

I pretty much agree with that. As beautiful as Natalie is, I don't think her shaved head fit. It didn't make her look ugly though. As for Emma, she's not ugly, but, she isn't 'WOW' and the short hair doesn't help and plus the shape of her head doesn't help either.

Well, aside from the moon shot, most of the nature shots I've seen in this thread are as "real" as a "real photograph". Yes, I'm sure many of them have had some color correction, level adjustment, etc. - but then again, a skilled photographer in the pre-digital age had options in the darkroom to accentuate or push certain aspects of the image.

Probably the best trick that was nearly impossible to do before is the advent of HDR.

Except that pre-digital photographs that had been separated or printed in layers were a different artform (e.g., composited photographs or multi-plane camera). It was unethical to pass off post-process subject alterations as a true photograph. Enhancing, masking, dodging were attempts to bring a print closer to the reality of what was seen in nature, given the technological limitations. Our eyes act as natural filters (e.g., more polarized than glass to reduce glare) as well as enhanced depth of field. But much of it depended upon the light that was given, not made to produce artificial colors, brightness and saturation that wasn't there in the first place.
