Do you think Trumpy actually understands that if even 10% of the US citizens in Puerto Rico migrate to Florida that the GOP will lose two state senate seats and several house seats during the next election?

bhlloy 10-03-2017 07:50 PM

Pretty sure they are working on a way to suppress those votes anyway

I honestly had no idea that the paper towel situation in Puerto Rico was so grim. There must be so many untidy counter-tops.

Very versatile little things. Can dress wounds, can mix them with stagnant rain water to make a mushy paper stew, etc.

Honest question, not trolling. For FOFC members that voted for Trump, if any would not have voted for him knowing what you know now and why?

PilotMan 10-04-2017 06:36 AM

Hmmmm, the waters are getting muddier. This would be a huge discussion point if it happened on any other week.

President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka Trump re-routed their personal email accounts to computers run by the Trump Organization as public scrutiny intensified over their use of private emails to conduct White House business, internet registration records show.

The move, made just days after Kushner’s use of a personal email account first became public, came shortly after special counsel Robert Mueller asked the White House to turn over records related to his investigation of Russia's interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion with Trump associates. It also more closely intertwines President Trump’s administration with his constellation of private businesses.

A companion question.

Quote:

In 2010, when the Major Economic Crimes Bureau of the D.A.’s office opened an investigation of the siblings, the Trump Organization had hired several top New York criminal defense lawyers to represent Donald Jr. and Ivanka. These attorneys had met with prosecutors in the bureau several times. They conceded that their clients had made exaggerated claims, but argued that the overstatements didn’t amount to criminal misconduct. Still, the case dragged on. In a meeting with the defense team, Donald Trump, Sr., expressed frustration that the investigation had not been closed. Soon after, his longtime personal lawyer, Marc Kasowitz entered the case.

Kasowitz, who by then had been the elder Donald Trump’s attorney for a decade, is primarily a civil litigator with little experience in criminal matters. But in 2012, Kasowitz donated $25,000 to the reelection campaign of Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., making Kasowitz one of Vance’s largest donors. Kasowitz decided to bypass the lower level prosecutors and went directly to Vance to ask that the investigation be dropped.

On May 16, 2012, Kasowitz visited Vance’s office at One Hogan Place in downtown Manhattan — a faded edifice made famous by the television show, “Law & Order.” Dan Alonso, the chief assistant district attorney, and Adam Kaufmann, the chief of the investigative division, were also at the meeting, but no one from the Major Economic Crimes Bureau attended. Kasowitz did not introduce any new arguments or facts during his session. He simply repeated the arguments that the other defense lawyers had been making for months.

Ultimately, Vance overruled his own prosecutors. Three months after the meeting, he told them to drop the case. Kasowitz subsequently boasted to colleagues about representing the Trump children, according to two people. He said that the case was “really dangerous,” one person said, and that it was “amazing I got them off.” (Kasowitz denied making such a statement.)

I have no doubt this happens somewhat regularly. Our campaign finance system practically demands this type of corruption.

yeah I think that's in the article. So even your own Cabinet members think you are a moron. Just great.

I don't regret it because at the time I figured both Trump and Clinton would be bad. I was right about Trump and I still believe Clinton would've been bad.

With any President before this one a quote like that would have knocked me over. With this one I'm like, is that all, as I expect him to be provoking North Korea or marginalizing victims of some tragedy.

Anyway, during the campaign I said I wouldn't want either as a neighbor, wouldn't support either for dogcatcher, etc.(meaning Trump and HRC). I refuse to swallow the false binary of the lesser of two evils. I won't vote for a bad candidate(Clinton) to keep a somewhat worse one(Trump) out, ever.

That's my answer.

This was the reason for the additional question. I have read too many posts on this board and talked to too many people who have made it perfectly clear that they were Anybody But Hillary. The idea that events that have transpired since January 2017 would change the minds of the majority of Americans is laughable to me. If we had a re-do this November, we would still either vote for Trump or against HRC.

tarcone 10-05-2017 09:24 PM

I wonder if Gary Johnson would get more support. If we did a Nov. do over.

Interesting thought there.

If you are talking about his core of 35% or so, I agree. But there were other Trump voters that I think may be regretting their decision after seeing how things have been.

Just curious if any FOFC Trump supporters regret their vote now and why.
