If you look at the horizon there is an optical illusion that makes it seem like the foreground clouds are moving against the background planet. Worked for me.

Good find!! Now if we can find Carmen San Diego, we'll be in business.

At my local Six Flags, they kick you out for a year if you use a camera or phone on a roller coaster.

We were at our local amusement park (Kennywood, outside of Pittsburgh) yesterday. I noticed every ride had added to their sign, along with the no pregnant women should ride, etc etc etc, that "Taking pictures or movies during the ride will result in removal from the park."

MJ4H 08-11-2011 08:43 PM

What's the reason for that?

I'd say safety. My mother in law (was sitting next to me) was hit in the forehead with a camera that someone had lost their grip on. Fortunately we were going up the hill, and slow. I can imagine the damage would be pretty severe if we had been moving along.

Buccaneer 08-11-2011 08:58 PM

Odd considering there are 1000s of roller coaster videos (including pov) on youtube, including a lot of the best and more famous ones.

And don't forget money. Lot of those coasters have those 'pics of you while you ride'. They want you to buy their pictures.

Those latest landscape images are why I don't believe any scenic photographs are real anymore. So easy to create composites of things that were not there in the first place.

But then again, that last page has all sorts of win.

I'm assuming this must be from a movie or TV show that Summer Glau was in...?

That was the first name that came to my mind.

Beavis
Butthead
Hank Hill
Boomhaur
Stuart

I didn't know any other things he was in, BUT I had no idea he was the Chotchkees manager in Office Space.

A bit of an overdose on the Matt Groening stable (Dan Castalanetta and Nancy Cartright play hugely influential single characters and big players on The Simpsons but not much else) and, no offense, but Trey Parker and Matt Stone all do one show and so does Seth McFarlane, for that matter (they just show at 3 different times) so I'm not putting them up there.

A lack of Frank Welker is a huge omission. Not much from the Disney stable. I'd like to see a Clancy Brown or David Warner as they played a lot of roles for a long time. Tony Jay, too- that's a huge slight. Ed Asner is another big missing voice.

SI

cuervo72 08-17-2011 09:13 PM

Yeah, that list was far from balanced.

sterlingice 08-17-2011 09:49 PM

Ok, I put names to my list additions:

Frank Welker - Transformers (half of the originals including Megatron), Scooby Doo (Fred), Inspector Gadget (Dr Claw), The Real Ghostbusters (Dr Ray), GI JOe (many), Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (Iceman), The Smurfs (Hefty Smurf), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Dumbo), DuckTales (some of the Beagles, Bubba, etc), TMNT 2 (the movie, not the show- Tokka, Rahzar), Muppet Babies (Kermit, Skeeter), Tiny Toons (lots), Aladdin (Abu), Garfield and Friends (Bok, Booker, Sheldon, more) ok- I'm just going to stop and I'm only at 1994. He's had another couple hundred since then but it's just too many to go through. Also, he's practically any animal sound in any show ever (661 credits!!!)

Rob Warner - Tron (Sark/MCP), Star Trek VI (Chancellor Gorkon- if we consider Klingons voice actors as they have a ton of makeup), Batman: The Animated Series (Ra's Al Ghul), Gargoyles (Archmage), Freakazoid (The Lobe), Spider-Man (Red Skull), MIB: The Series (Alpha)

Clancy Brown - Gargoyles (Hakon), Superman (Lex Luthor), Spongebob (Mr Krabs), Jackie Chan Adventures (Captain Black), Avatar (Long Feng), The Batman (from 2004, not old WB classic series from above, Mr Freeze), Wolverine and the X-Men (Mister Sinister), GI Joe Renegades (Destro)

Tony Jay - Jungle Book/Tailspin (Shere Kahn), Reboot (Megabyte- a personal favorite), The Tick (Chairface Chippendale), Spider-Man (Baron Mordo), Beauty and the Beast (Monsieur D'Arque)

Ed Asner - Batman (Roland Dagget), Captain Planet (Hoggish Greedly), Gargoyles (Hudson), Spiderman (J Jonah Jameson), Freakazoid (Cosgrove), Superman (Granny Goodness- yes, you read that right), Up (Carl), The Boondocks (Ed Wunclear)

Also, I forgot to mention the incestuous little community of English anime voice actors. See Scott McNeil or Steven Blum and if you know any anime at all, you know those guys
