site him for contempt of court and put him in county jail.

Thomkal 10-20-2023 10:39 AM

Judge asks why the defendant should not receive sanctions including jail time for not following his orders to remove all mentions of the things he called for to be removed. Trump's lawyer said it was an oversight. Judge said he would rule later, so Trump and his lawyers had best be on their best behavior today. I would love the judge to order his lawyers to jail for the weekend with an order to be more diligent and thorough in following out his orders.

Edward64 10-20-2023 11:22 AM

Ken Chesebro also takes plea deal

albionmoonlight 10-20-2023 11:37 AM

Hundreds of reporters/editors sigh and delete their pre-written "The Cheese Stands Alone" headlines for the first day of his trial without Powell.

They can replace it with, "No More 4D Chese, bro"

But a fine would be more likely.

Yeah that would seem to be the way to start to get them to fully comply with his orders, but man I would still love to see that happen :)

Not sure if this is possible, but no Trump paying for everyone, or fundraising to pay the fines, just come straight out of their pocket.

Ghost Econ 10-20-2023 02:32 PM

Fining a person who doesn't pay people willingly seems like a pointless endeavor.

Ksyrup 10-20-2023 03:50 PM

I know it's the game that has to be played, and especially someone like Trump is going to get plenty of leeway, but $5K for an "inadvertent" violation. GMAFB.

There are only a handful of people on the planet who would be out on bail with the charges that are against him. He already made a post on Truth Social sort of mocking it.

This interview with Cheseboro's lawyer makes it seem like he isn't going to be a witness or offer anything. Seems like he just hired good lawyers and got a great deal because guys lime that usually get the benefit of the doubt in our justice system.

The 400-page GBI report just came out that lays out very clearly the type of things they both will have to testify to that will definitely help the case against the other co-defendants. As a matter of fact the state AG Chris Carr, a Republican, says he might bring additional charges. They pled because they were going down.

Wow. She seemed like (1) a TRUE believer and (2) too dumb to realize how much trouble she was in.

I really saw her fighting to the end.

Ksyrup 10-24-2023 09:19 AM

A felony on your record and cropdusted by Rudy on video. Hope it was worth it.

I also hope these attorneys pleading to felonies get their licenses revoked in the cascade of having to report a felony conviction, but I won't hold my breath.

Thomkal 10-24-2023 09:19 AM

Yeah not so defiant now are you Jenna? And stop claiming you are a Christian because if there was any influence on you, it surely wasn't from God.

one of the ways to get lawyers to stop from doing this again is to make sure they lose their license, and let their names and actions become a lesson in every law school.

Edward64 10-24-2023 09:37 AM

As a GA taxpayer, I also want some frakking jail terms and bigger penalties. 30 days in a white collar prison and significant financial penalties, garnish their wages for next 30 years so every time they get paid, they remember.

So far, these look like wrist slaps.

albionmoonlight 10-24-2023 10:16 AM

Spoiler

I mean, it must have been a heck of a journey for her lawyer to get her from this to "you know, you are actually in some trouble here."

Ghost Econ 10-24-2023 10:33 AM

I like that she is still tweeting conspiracy theories, even this morning. It's as though they don't actually believe the things they say in court

Probably won't happen unfortunately.

Ellis’s lawyers agreed with prosecutors that the offense she admitted to Tuesday was not “a crime of moral turpitude.” That agreement, which is also a part of the guilty pleas by the other Trump-affiliated lawyers, could help them avoid disbarment or other serious action against their law licenses.

As a taxpayer, this is the best bang for our buck. It would cost thousands of dollars per trial to convict these people who are really minor fish to the big Kahuna. If Rudy or Trump gets slaps on the wrist, it would be a waist. But getting Sydney Powell and Jenna Ellis to admit everything they were saying was unfounded lies is well worth sparing a trial. This the smart play for the prosecution, and exactly what you see in most RICO trials. You keep rolling people over till you get the actual boss.

GrantDawg 10-24-2023 04:09 PM

Considering how quickly the dominos are falling, I think Kraken, Cheseboro, Ellis would have accepted a plea deal even if the fines were increased and there was a 30 day stay at Club Fed.

Just tell them if you don't plea now, there's someone right behind you & there's a real prison waiting for your lily white asses.

GrantDawg 10-24-2023 05:42 PM

I think the prosecutor probably has a better feel of what would work.

Apparently Sidney Powell - since her guilty plea - has been out there on social media picking up right where she left off talking about or sharing articles and other comments about the election being stolen and being forced to plead guilty on political charges, etc. I can only assume this is to help pay for legal costs but I would also assume the prosecutor is looking at all of this in relation to her plea agreement. I'm sure her argument will be "free speech" but it's certainly unusual to have someone you expect to testify be out in public talking in direct contrast to the crimes they just pleaded guilty to.

Okay Fani. Time for you to get tough.

If true, revoke the plea deal.

Thomkal 10-25-2023 02:22 PM

Judge Engoron has Trump take the stand and questions him to his latest comments in violation of his gag order. Doesn't seem to believe him and fines him $10,000

She raised over 200k for her legal defense and has people wanting that money refunded since she got a plea deal. She's probably broke and hoping doing this allows her to keep that money.

Trump has taken the stand in his civil case and is just hamming it up. Attacking the judge, not answering questions, and claiming the whole thing is a farce. Things that would put anyone else in jail for contempt, and of course nothing is going to happen to him.

From what I've read this is all part of their legal strategy. They're trying to frustrate and piss the judge off to the point that he makes mistakes to improve their chances on appeal. They know he's lost this and they're just trying to get it overturned on procedural or other errors.

Thomkal 11-06-2023 10:30 AM

Here's a bit of what happened: Trump just seems to think he can name any value he wants for his properties because he was President, and the banks all wanted to do deals with him
