So was the rest of the NFC East.

MrBug708 04-23-2010 05:35 PM

Did you need a linebacker EF27?

JonInMiddleGA 04-23-2010 05:36 PM

No RB in the draft I'd rather have than McCluster, was hoping he'd stay under the radar & could slip to the Falcons in the 3rd frankly.

Senator 04-23-2010 05:36 PM

A stronger QB class next season spells DOOM for Clausen.

Watching Boomer, Young, Gruden, Kiper, and Jackson is brutal. They have ZERO cohesion and chemistry.
I am only hanging on because I like Gruden's comments but he just has to fight hair-do over talking him.

The Football Outsiders guys have been saying for a few years that college starts and completion percentage are the two big indicators for success at the pro level. See for example College stats don't lie - NFL - ESPN.

larrymcg421 04-23-2010 05:37 PM

Wow, how far is Clausen gonna fall?

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 05:37 PM

Chiefs probably decided they want their own Sproles.

cartman 04-23-2010 05:40 PM

Wow, the Browns didn't take a QB there

gstelmack 04-23-2010 05:40 PM

Bucs trade up to 2.7...

Yes, actually. I think they could have used him in some creative blitz packages with his speed. Oh well, more I read of Nate, he seems like a solid pick. Meanwhile, Clausen continues to fall.

Eisen, Mayock, Corey Chavous, Brian Billick, Charles Davis for NFLN. Pretty strong (dunno about Chavous though).

cartman 04-23-2010 05:43 PM

I've always wondered what Gruden would be doing if he didn't have a career in football. Even when he is happy he looks supremely pissed off.

Trying to think of who comes out next year. Locker and Mallett (probably on Mallett, since he could come back).

Maybe Luck from Stanford. That atheltic kid from Miami? Pryor from OSU? Who am I missing?

The SEC seems like it was cleared out this year, Tebow, Snead, Crompton, LSU's QB wasn't good I don't think, can't remember who Stafford's replacement at Georgia was, wasn't McElroy a senior, too? Shows how much I pay attention there. ;)

I liked watching the NFLN draft last night. Wasn't a bunch of people trying to talk over each other. Although, it could have been 6 monkeys flinging feces at each other and as long as Berman wasn't in the group it would be better.

gstelmack 04-23-2010 05:46 PM

They moved up for Aurelios Benn. Wonder who they thought was going to snatch him...

Galaxy 04-23-2010 05:46 PM

Could the Bills take Jimmy?

cartman 04-23-2010 05:47 PM

I wonder if a team is going to be able to pickup both McCoy and Shipley?

Galaxy 04-23-2010 05:47 PM

Danny boy looks like he's been baking in the sun a little too much.

stevew 04-23-2010 05:49 PM

rams had to take Bradford or trade out If they take Suh, the lions get a Godfather offer and the Rams look dumber.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 05:50 PM

these qbs are dropping like flies. and a tackle or two im surprised isnt gone yet.

some very very decent prospects still out there.

Galaxy 04-23-2010 05:51 PM

Come on...The pick has been in for a while.

cartman 04-23-2010 05:51 PM

Clausen to the Raiders. Book it. Done.

Mustang 04-23-2010 05:52 PM

Wonder who will take Claussen...

Jimmy's down! Jiimmy's going into shock.

DeToxRox 04-23-2010 05:52 PM

Bruce Campbell will go to Oakland here.

path12 04-23-2010 05:53 PM

I think it's fair to say Mays was overrated.

Izulde 04-23-2010 05:53 PM

This Utah OLB is interesting, though hearing the word undersized always makes me cringe.

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 05:54 PM

Did the Bills to just select the Trout option?

I seriously wonder if Ralph Wilson is Al Davis' twin brother.

I'm willing to bet he would have gone in the top 20 of the 1st round if he had come out last year. Coming back for his senior year was a bad mistake for him.

Greyroofoo 04-23-2010 05:56 PM

Looks like Al Davis fell asleep.

Solecismic 04-23-2010 05:57 PM

Poor Raiders. They're the anti-Pats. Any selection they make is instantly ridiculed.

So they traded with each other, because the Pats must want a WR and the Ravens definitely want one.

I still think he will be a pretty solid Safety in the NFL, starter material after a couple years imo.

There are people right now on the local newspaper blog saying that the Hawks should jump up to grab him. Because two safeties in the first two rounds is what we really need.

Agreed. I remember thinking last year that he really should have gone. The season he had more or less confimed that. He had nowhere to go but down at that point. He got bad advice from somewhere.

path12 04-23-2010 05:58 PM

Man, Buffalo must really not like Clausen.

Yeah, I agree with this, he'll be okay.

cartman 04-23-2010 05:59 PM

The Raiders select:

Jimmy McCoy

Solecismic 04-23-2010 06:00 PM

It's Gronkowski, according to SoSH.

Carroll wasnt giving out very good NFL draft advice last year, suffice to say.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:01 PM

good pick by the pats. needed TE

I agree. His physical skills are superior and with good coaching he should become a very good player in my opinion.

As much as it pains me to say this, seeing the new coaching staff in action (well vicariously from good friends who are still in the area), the level of hands on coaching in practice is night and day between this year and last in favor of this year.

Galaxy 04-23-2010 06:02 PM

Wow...He made the trip to NY?

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 06:02 PM

lol... I swear Belichek must prematurely ejaculate when he sees a solid tight end available in the draft.

Read into that anyway you want.

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:04 PM

Kindle . if his knee heals fine or isnt a problem thats excellent value at 43.

cartman 04-23-2010 06:04 PM

Ray Lewis has another protege.

Chief Rum 04-23-2010 06:05 PM

My guess is Tate here to Baltimore. He'll beat out his QB. And for the first time in many years, a UCLA AND a Notre Dame player will be picked ahead of a USC player. ;)

Izulde 04-23-2010 06:05 PM

Nice gamble by the Ravens.

DeToxRox 04-23-2010 06:06 PM

Oakland is having a damn good draft.

Did I say that?

k0ruptr 04-23-2010 06:06 PM

back to back Longhorns. lol
