It's staggering to me that Matrix is still trying to get $50 for an actual physical copy of this game.

More staggering, perhaps, it that they have not tried to distance themselves from this diseased, diarrhea-spray of a game to maintain some semblance of credibility as a publisher.

Ran across this little gem. Might want to think about putting Pumpy on suicide watch.

Update on IFL game status

A few days ago I discussed the workings of a possible Indoor Football League game slated for release by the time the IFL kicks off its 2010 season.

In the post I pondered the possibility that the IFL may have reached out to David Winter of WinterValley software to develop the presumed PC-only endeavor.

In an e-mail to Winter he divulged only that he and the league talked earlier in the year and couldn’t say any more at this time.

I would presume Winter and the IFL are either still working on a deal or that the game is being developed as we speak. Whether it hits in time for a 2010 season release is anyone’s guess. In my experience with WinterValley and Maximum-Football I know that David won’t force a deadline if he isn’t satisfied with the final product. Either way, we’ll keep you guys posted best we can.

I love this.

Here's what I think is the block: I'm not running Microsoft Access. There's the 60-day Trial of Microsoft Office and then you have to pay for the license, and I'll be damned if I'm paying for something that used to come 'free' with every other computer I've ever owned.

Office has never been free, if it came with your computer you paid for it moron.

So confident, yet so wrong. Free 60 Office Trial Maybe you should reserve calling people morons for times you know for certain you are correct.

This should be good.

Um, you know what you have to do when the trial is up, right?

Wait, you mean it is possible for software to have a trial? So you can try it out to see if you would like to buy the full version? Where have we not seen that available before?

I know what to do, but I'm not the one with the problem of not having Access, just pointing out that because you have it on your computer does not mean you must have paid for it.

You may want to go back and read the post you initially responded to. You missed his point completely.

I re-read it, I guess I was under the assumption that by 'free' he mean free through illegal means, which he does not think is possible anymore. But it could be 'free' with the free trial and a free key. Hence if it is on your computer does not mean that you paid for it. Maybe I could have been more clear as I only posted a link to the free download.

No, you still missed it...I'll break it down for you. The original quote said "I'll be damned if I'm paying for something that used to come 'free' with every other computer I've ever owned." MS Office never came free with a computer. If it came pre-installed, it was purchased with the computer. The "moron" statement wasn't in relation to the demo, it was for the belief that Office came free with any purchased computer. Make sense now?

I get what you are saying and realize he was stating it was not free because you eventually had to pay for it if you go through legal means. The question then is what does 'free' mean? Whether it was 'free' because it was paid for unknowingly, or 'free' because it was an illegal copy. My thinking it was the second option or why have the apostrophes around free? My argument then was he does not know how to get it 'free' anymore, and does not feel he should have to pay since he did not previously. I could be wrong, but that is how I read it. Hence you can have a free copy of it still if you have the free trial installed if you get an illegal free key online. The point I'm trying to make is that because something like Office is on your computer pre-installed or not does not mean it can't be 'free' to the user.

Ronnie Dobbs2 11-23-2009 06:19 PM

No, he was referring to the fact that when Office is preinstalled you have in fact paid for it and it is not free.

cartman 11-23-2009 06:25 PM

You know what else isn't free? Freedom. It has a heavy fuckin' fee. Freedom costs a buck o' five.

Even more scary is that he apparently was satisfied with the product twice.

60 days of office for free does not mean free. You still have to pay for it in the end.

Since there was only one game under the category of "Quasi-Wagnerian stop-motion approximation of a sport somewhat resembling an athletic contest of the North American Football variety", and they didn't want to create a "Fashion Barbie simulation" category, they made an editorial decision to leave it out of the listings.

"Basic Player Trade AI" for leagues.

Was there absolutely NO trade AI before, or is "Basic" an upgrade?

10 let playersofferedteam1 = x
20 let playersofferedteam2 = y
30 if x = y then trade = accepted
