That was a waste. Maybe Autumn isn't as smart as I thought

fontisian 05-22-2013 09:24 PM

Or perhaps he knew that Ser Gregor would refuse to bend the knee.

bhlloy 05-22-2013 09:27 PM

Not sure why anyone would do that, unless they didn't want to play the game any more

MrBug708 05-22-2013 09:28 PM

Or that Ser Gregor will go to the highest bidder. A price three leaders cannot pay

bhlloy 05-22-2013 09:28 PM

It certainly doesn't encourage others to make the honorable choice going forward, put it that way

MrBug708 05-22-2013 09:30 PM

Perhaps he could not bend the knee?

nope, the writeup is very clear that Clegane has very little personal wealth. And he wouldn't have chosen to go back to a weakened Lannister house either I wouldn't have thought. Short sighted play by somebody who would have been in a pretty strong position otherwise.

bhlloy 05-22-2013 09:33 PM

It's possible Stannis learned something while he was in captivity, or from one of the spies I guess

Autumn 05-22-2013 09:34 PM

That, Lannisters, is what serving the throne looks like. You hope to find a crack in the alliance against you, but we understand that our first priority is the false king. You hoped I would keep Gregor so that you could turn the other houses against me. Now you have no such hope.

MrBug708 05-22-2013 09:34 PM

Stannis' writeup states this
Quote:

He is a strict and harsh judge of men

Very few people in this world were more evil than the Mountain

If you bear some love for the Lannister cause, let us know. Weakening the Lannisters serves us all.

path12 05-22-2013 09:36 PM

Brother, you look for signs then ignore the one in front of you. I am afraid you are being misled.

VOTE MELISANDRE - BULLETSPONGE

You fool. You strengthed the Lannisters by returning Clegane's Keep to them. I would have used the Mountain's might for justice.

VOTE MELISANDRE - BULLETSPONGE

Autumn 05-22-2013 09:39 PM

You would have, or I would have, or the Starks would have. And the other two would hate him for it. It is too soon for that, woman. Joffrey loses a bannerman. That's a victory.

bhlloy 05-22-2013 09:40 PM

Yes, Clegane would not have gone back to the Lannisters and his lands now belong to Joffrey. If your goal was to weaken the Lannisters you made a bad decision. And I will not be so easy to capture.

Joffrey had already lost a bannerman

MrBug708 05-22-2013 09:43 PM

One banished bannerman - Good Day
Two banished bannerman - Great Day

You were well aware of Lord Renly's concerns regarding Ser Gregor. That you chose to ignore our requests is a personal insult. You have achieved nothing but our ire.

murrayyyyy 05-22-2013 09:45 PM

as Storm's End has voted, I shall follow.

Perhaps I will listen to your advice when you are in the cells of Dragonstone.

A wise King sometimes hurts his own cause, Jaime, to promote peace. I am not surprised you do not realize this.

I will not be in any cell any time soon. And you speak of peace, but it smells of weakness. The Starks are happy. I wonder if your own side feels the same.

MrBug708 05-22-2013 09:50 PM

My happiness will come when Jaime's head is mounted on a spike in Karhold

bhlloy 05-22-2013 09:52 PM

How ironic that Stannis' actions mean that is very unlikely to happen

No, it is a sign that I wish to keep our focus on the Lannisters. You voting with them certainly does not do so.

Chief Rum 05-22-2013 09:56 PM

Vote as of post #574:

Jaime Lannister (bhlloy): Cortnay Penrose (Darth Vilus), Rickard Karstark (MrBug708), Robb Stark (Coffee Warlord), Stannis (Autumn), Axell Florent (claphamsa), Ser Barristan (mauchow), Davos (InBlue), Melisandre (bulletsponge)-- 9 1/2 votes

Melisandre (bulletsponge): Cersei (Narcizo), Tyrion (Danny), Jaime (bhlloy), Tywin (hoopsguy), Theon (Lathum), Renly (path12), Brienne (fontisian), Loras (murrayyyyy), Joffrey (Zinto)-- 10 votes

CORRECTED. Missed Zinto's vote.

bhlloy 05-22-2013 10:02 PM

OK, so now it doesn't affect the voting, I think it's a bit of a dick move to vote the guy coming into the game to replace an inactive player. Especially seeing as you gave me what - less than 4 hours. I guess it is what it is.

Chief Rum 05-22-2013 10:03 PM

FINAL DAY TWO VOTE COUNT:

Jaime Lannister (bhlloy): Cortnay Penrose (Darth Vilus), Rickard Karstark (MrBug708), Robb Stark (Coffee Warlord), Stannis (Autumn), Axell Florent (claphamsa), Ser Barristan (mauchow), Davos (InBlue), Melisandre (bulletsponge), Roose (JAG)-- 10 1/2 votes

Melisandre (bulletsponge): Cersei (Narcizo), Tyrion (Danny), Jaime (bhlloy), Tywin (hoopsguy), Theon (Lathum), Renly (path12), Brienne (fontisian), Loras (murrayyyyy), Joffrey (Zinto)-- 10 votes

Autumn 05-22-2013 10:03 PM

ooc: in a regular werewolf game, I would agree. Particularly if we were voting "you" for being inactive. However, in this game it didn't make sense to change things for a new guy. But that does suck, sorry.

Autumn 05-22-2013 10:04 PM

Storm's End and Theon Greyjoy almost cost me a trusted friend. That is not being missed.

ooc: +1 At least as opposed to a regular WW game the vote is not necessarily a death sentence.

Agreed. It was a bad character to have an inactive player as.

hoopsguy 05-22-2013 10:06 PM

I would like a minute to check on one of the votes before you post results - maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.

Indeed.

MrBug708 05-22-2013 10:12 PM

I feel like Renly's side went after Melissandre thinking Gregor would be utilized by Stannis.

bhlloy 05-22-2013 10:13 PM

I have to admit, I have no idea why you would capture Gregor and not use him. Seems like a mistake on a couple of levels this early.

MrBug708 05-22-2013 10:14 PM

I think there might be an honor mechanism?

Autumn 05-22-2013 10:14 PM

Which is what I would have expected had I kept him. I made clear to Renly and all that I wanted our focus on the Lannisters, not squabbling amongst each other, which only benefits Joffrey.

I hope that Robb Stark takes a look at his bannerman as well. Perhaps the son of the Iron Isles doesn't have the allegiance Stark would wish.

Coffee Warlord 05-22-2013 10:15 PM

Believe me Stannis, it's already being looked into.

bhlloy 05-22-2013 10:15 PM

Then why capture him in the first place?
