Ugh, my head is spinning right now. I have no idea what to think. And I have to go to work in a little over an hour and will have to get a vote in before then.
*sigh* |
What ended up being the deadline? It has been very sparse posting, despite many saying that they had weekend availability.
|
Other than Dubb'sweak argument against AE, there's still nothing to really go on. The fact that Dubb's crusade against AE is so flimsy, he gets my vote even though I have nothing but that to go on either. (I mean, "You aren't playing like normal, so you must be evil"? Come on.)

I'm not sure what to make of AE - I think there's more there than he's telling us - but I don't get the feeling that he's Sith. His play is just too bizarre for me to accept that. I just hope I'm not wrong in backing him. vote Dubb |
Votes through post #556
Qwikshot - mckerney (526) mckerney - Qwikshot (529) Ardent Enthusiast - Dubb93 (532), Hoopsguy (550) Dubb93 - Ardent Enthusiast (542), Schmidty (553), SackAttack (556) |
UNVOTE QWIKSHOT
VOTE ARDENT ENTHUSIAST |
Ok I think that this is going to be the most informative day yet. I feel like we've had some good discussion from dubb on ardent and either way that it goes we should hopefully get something interesting.
|
I'm going to temporarily go with ardent. I didn't like how Schmidty and Sack jumped on the voting for dubb with so little explanation and so quickly. AE's lack of defense seems like an over compensation for his wolf style last game. I can't figure out if it's a wolfish overcompensation, but it's definitely something.
Ardent |
That was a crappy vote.
Vote Ardent |
I believe you mean "Vote Ardent"

Tricky.

Yep, that is where I'm worried about AE. He claims to be a simple villager, but if you are a simple villager then your only weapon is to really engage yourself in the threads and make your vote/voice count. But by his own admission he hasn't followed along closely and hasn't taken the opportunity to voice opinions on the game.
If it was Blade I would think that he is giving 50% bad information to throw off the scent (on both sides), but then again I would have about 100+ posts to form that opinion. |

AE's not acting like he did when he was a fellow badguy in the HP game. That being said, I think his attitude is a bit odd...
|
Vince, hope your pinkeye is feeling better.
|
Ok I take it back. He did nothing of the sort last game as a wolf. Along with Jeebs stating that he played differently in HP I am strongly leaning towards not voting for AE. I'll be interested to see what Jeeber does though before he goes to work.
|
Thanks ardent...now that I'm not going to be at work for four days, I wish I was in the game :(
|
Though I have to say, it's fun discussing things behind the seens with Alan :)

I'm afraid that I really don't have any other insight at the moment. Gotta get a vote in quickly, though... Vote dubb All I know is that dubb can be devious as hell. Plus, he was another HP badguy so I would think that he would see AE's attitude this game as not consistent. I just hope I'm right about this... |
Unvote Mckerney
Vote AE |

Though acting one way as a wolf in one game isn't necessarily going to mean that he will act the exact same way as a wolf in another game. In fact, he'd be wise to act differently, so this line of reasoning won't cause me to change my vote. |
I wonder if Saldana will let me choose who I fight instead of making it random.

Bad choice. I've been attempting to help the team and I sure as hell don't want to die. It wouldn't be good for the jedi at this point to lose on of their own. At this point I have made my case against Ardent. Am I 100% sure he's a sith? No, but he isn't helping if he isn't taking the time to review the situation before he votes. At the very least I have voted and given a reason for my vote. Just because I can be devious shouldn't be a reason to vote me. Ardent can be devious as well. And as devious as I can be, I can be just as helpful as a good guy. Seriously, I'm always one of the first ones scanned. I'm pretty sure if I was a sith I'd be scanned and outted by this point. The way I see it, you either vote for the guy that has explained his votes to this point, or the guy with a history of voting for people he thinks are innocent(look at his lathum post). |

I agreee with this line of reasoning. There's something about Dubb this game that doesn't sit right with me. Vote Dubb93 |
Updated votes as of Post #583
Ardent - Dubb (532), Hoopsguy (550), mckerney (558), Barkeep49 (561), Qwikshot (579) Dubb - Ardent (542), Schmidty (553), SackAttack (556), JeeberD (578), Desnudo (583) |
If I get my choice of who to fight, I want dubb03 and mckerney.

I feel pretty strong at this point that AE is not a Sith. I don't know about Dubb, but I don't think lynching AE would be right.

Des has been logical for most of this game...I am easily swayed. Unvote AE Vote Dubb |
Note to self - play next game in a drastically different manner and use that as justification for being a "villager". This seems to have worked well for Ardent and Qwikshot so far this game.
I generally approach Dubb very carefully in these games because I understand how capable a player he is. And I also know that it is difficult to pick up differences in his play as a wolf versus a villager. That said, I want him on my team every time we are in the game together. Ardent has barely responded to Dubb and not commented on the posts in question. I've been considerably more cautious with my posting this weekend because I came under early suspicion and I didn't want to find myself stuck explaining every comment I make in the game. But it is also boring playing that cautiously. I think that it is significantly more likely that Ardent is a Sith than Dubb (35 to 15, using my ranges from Friday if I was to put numbers to it). And I'm a little dismayed to see that the vote is heading in this direction with comments like "Dubb doesn't feel right" as the basis for the decision. |
Dubb himself said once that he plays a lot by feel for people. While I appreciate your logical approach, it's not the only way to success.
|
Dola, what I actually said was that Schmidty's argument made sense to me, not that, out of the blue, I "feel" dubb is a bad guy. What his argument did was clarify a feeling that I already had.
|
Des, I get that. And I'm not trying to beat people up for their votes, even if it sounds like that is my objective. I just seem to be much more out of touch with the majority opinion in this game (three straight, if this holds up) than I'm used to.
|
I'm about to say more than I really want to at this point, but I'm a little tired of hoopsguy, barkeep, and dubb.
I'm being quiet because I have no role. In fact, this is perhaps the first game I haven't had some sort of role in probably 5, 6, maybe 7 games. As such, I decided I will sit back and try and read what's going on. It hasn't been terribly effective. I took the flyer on superman, because when it worked on sndvls a few games back, it essentially cleared Taz (I think it was Taz). I thought I'd take a shot. I missed. I will continue to sit back and read what's going on, until I'm lynched or the Sith take me. I will continue to cast late votes as long as I am able to post. While I didn't read everything that went on with the Lathum stuff, I did note that it appeared he was caught in a lie of some sort, and was good enough for me. Now, back to my shell. Leave me alone, you damned Sith. |
I am confused at this point. I have read all of the posts, but haven't seen a reason why the lack of votes for Qwikshot today, based on the number he got in the first two days. Did I miss something that would have made it clear he was a true Jedi? I'm sticking with the voting I did the first two times:
Vote Qwikshot I think he's using the following strategy, via a football analogy: A team lined up for an onsides kick for the opening kick off two weeks in a row. Each time, the opposing team didn't think they were serious, so they didn't defend the onsides. When they line up for an opening onsides the third week, the opposing team knows something is up, so they are a little more leery this time. I'm in the leery camp. It would appear from discussion of previous games that this strategy would be a little too obvious this many games in a row, if I read the previous games correctly. |
No, it doesn't sound like your objective. But phrasing is everything when you can't detect tone and I want to make sure it's clear my decision to vote for Dubb came from seeing a good argument that supported my own personal take and not just gut feeling.
Actually Qwik's quick (forgive the pun) switch makes me want to reconsider my vote. It feels a little to much like a pucker up since I haven't really been all that deductive this game. If anyone has, it's been you. |
Dola, referring to Hoops.
|
Sorry guys I haven't been more active, I thought the deadline wasn't until Monday for some reason. Should've just assumed that I'd got it wrong, as usual. :)
I'm swaying between Dubb and AE, possibly Qwick also. Going back to mor e carefully reread soe posts now just before deciding on a vote. We have an hour and ten mins until the vote right? |
Yes, a little more than an hour to go, Tanglewood.
|
Should be noted the vote got close and the bandwagon swayed to me to save AE. It was pretty well the same bandwagon on day 1 that saved Qwik.
|
Ok let me play the role of hoops for a minute.
We're likely to lynch either Dubb or Ardent tonight. There are 4 possibilties between these two: 1. Neither is a Sith 2. Ardent is a Sith 3. Dubb is a Sith 4. Both are Sith Now for the sake of this argument it's irrelevant what direction we go for the lynch. My question is what do we learn if the person who we lynch turns out to be Jedi. Assuming no new information, do we then go for the other person? This then leads to the risk that it is villager A vs villager B and we're in no better shape. This is further complicated for me as neither Dubb nor Ardent has, in the posts I quickly skimmed over for each, been particularly vocal about anybody. In essence I think we learn very little from tonight's lynching and are in a terrible situation for tomorrow. I guess what this is saying is that I supprot cartman's move back to qwik. I feel pretty good about him being a villager. But I think FAR more is learned from finding out about him then either of these two. |
